listen to crispy bass-line, funky guitars with light synths and deep rhodes mellowness. it's a typical formula can be found on every GRP albums recorded back in the early 80s and I love it!
@waterzoip I agree that if you stick with the pentatonic, blues or minor scales, there is a limited number of notes. It is the combinations, runs, deviations and twists that make the music more interesting. Bass power chords only seem like more because of the octaves. YOur logic is exactly the reason I became bored with this type of repetitive rhythmic music. I play the flute but not like this.
very funky, it's a typical grp formula in the early 80's. Bobby Broom had the same formula back in those days releasing jazz/funk/disco hybrid albums. Very creative, very groovy!
I'm from Detroit,I've always loved this song along with "Merle the pearl"of his album Flute juice. He also was the flutist on some of Angela Bofil's songs such as "Baby I need your love"and others, sounds greay!!
Hey another Valentin fan, right on! Have you seen the tribute video's of Dave Valentin by bambamdrummer, they are fantastic. I love Dave's band and music, wish they were all on CD.
