@Killamatrix243 drifting in fr cars is slow though. in order to drift an FR car, you have to slow down a lot to stop a spin. drifting is only fast when you enter a corner at the limit and the car oversteers itself. 4wd drifting is a lot faster then FR drifting

There is NO speed benefit in drifting. It's actually a liability. This applies to any vehicle, regardless of power/torque characteristics. This is a fact.

@elucid07 100% grip driving is completely impossible. Even the most highly developed suspension designs allow a % of slip/slide/drift while cornering at high speeds. It simply isn't possible to accelerate, brake or even maintain a continuous speed though a turn without a percentage slip angle. Even at the lowest speeds inside and outside of a single tire spins at different speed relative to the pavement creating slip.

Yes it was Bunta. He buys the car and some episodes later insists Takami drives it every other run for a while. Takumi is impressed/shaken with the car enough that it gives him doubts about his driving ability with the AE86.

bmw is the best for cheap high performance.

the bmw z series can be bought for a couple grands less than the s2000.

and the M3 is certainly better than the lotus. the m3 even did a better laptime than wrx sti and not even a turbo kit.

it costs just as much as the 2010 civic Si, impreza sti, and evo 10.

Top gear also proved its the fastest car in its class and competes with higher end sport car such lotus elise and ferrari's.

as for cheaper cars with higher miles. the bmw Z (s2000 look alike) runs low 13's and costs 3-4 grand less.

i dont know about you but 3-4 grand can get me a greddy stage 1 turbo kit

But in all seriousness, get a AE/TE 70/71/72 corolla (same basic chassis as a AE86) weighs 1,850lbs stock,  GTS AE86 rear end, and transmission, 4AGE silvertop or rebuilt 4AGZE, turbocharge it, get some nice ass coils, 2 way LSD, and some sticky tires and it'll be cheaper than any of those. Rolla <3

Only M3 I admire is the E30 M3 because its a pure sports car, and the closest to the roots of what an M car is supposed to be, not the two ton luxury E92 M3 you see today.
