  • egg eating jerks!

  • dinosaur :o

  • They really do have there own personalities. I had a savannah monitor for about 7 years and she was the sweetest thing you could ever have, never had a problem with her and she would go right to sleep in your arms i would even let my 5 year old brother play around with her and she was always very nice. The same goes for other reptiles if you treat them with respect and handle them gently to let them know you care for them then they will do the same for you!

  • so lets say hamburger meat before its cooked i can feed a tegu that or a piece of raw steak or turkey deli meat I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW THIS

  • @zippyzeb1999 As he just said in the video, that's not the normal tank.

  • omg hes adorable!

once a month he gets a scrambled egg and fried beef

once a week he gets 2 large mice (pre-killed)

anf the other two weeks of the month are w/e is on sale at the crocery store like turkey, chicken or fruit on sale :)

  • Is there anything they dont eat, lmao

  • I WANT A GIANT TEGU SO BAD

  • Proof reptiles have feelings is in the Shingleback lizard from Australia who will stay with the same mating partner for it's life (25 years) and will grieve at there dead body if there partner dies

  • @HerpMastertheFirst

    haha same her

  • im geting one soon!!

  • So what do you think of the concept that rodents should be fed to tegus only sparingly because: A. They are very high in fat compared to protein so they can promote obesity, and B. Tegus digestive systems are not as well adapted to digesting fur as many reptiles, so the furn can result in impaction. I'm not vouching for these ideas. I've just read/heard them and so I mostly feed my B&W on turkey chicken and eggs.

  • Oh he's so handsome!

  • oh my black white tegu reacts very fast when he sees dead mice, as soon as he sees a dead mice he comes darting at you very fast and makes you jump and the mice gets eaten very fast in 5,seconds, shes very unbelievable how fast she goes

  • I used to keep Tegu's.... when i feed them they used to 'rush' me... !! LOL.

  • Are tegus tropical lizards?

  • @bxwarrior011 - Yes, they're tropical and require a lot of humidity.

  • oh, he's happy with his mouse

  • i saw this guy at a pet store feed a tegu he had 2 drop the mouse in then shut the cage as quick as he could cause the tegu could smell the mouse in his hand and was going 2 bite him that would of hurt

  • @EtNiessk8er777 - If a tegu is used to people, it can learn to take food from your hand. They're pretty smart. My tegu bites more aggressively if I feed with tongs, but will take food gently from my hand similar to how a dog or cat would. It doesn't matter how big or small the food item is, either. I had a savannah monitor that would do the same. They just have to be used to people and they try not to bite you.

  • hey, thanks alot expert village for chopping this video so we cant see the whole thing.

  • Hi guys! silly question but,

When you say that you can feed them whole eggs, do you mean something like boiled eggs??

If so (another silly question) with or without the shell??

    Cheers :) x

  • @xRyuken1337x just put the egg in there. They will break it and eat it themselves; even if they eat eggshell it won't hurt them as long as it's not alot.

  • If I'm gonna eat somebody, it might as well be you~~

  • armeeeeee tieeerrrreeee

  • Cut the arguing out. And BTW nice looking gu. You should feed more turkey and beef liver, though.

  • How old this tegu??amazing!!

  • WELL C'MON! im ready! bring it tough guy.

  • were not the dumbest country on the planet

  • cool tegus :)

  • plz replay

does the tegu fight back if you play with em

like bite or hit or so

cuze i am really thinking of owning one

and btw if it bites me is it poisones

  • No, no and no. Raise them right and you really won't have that problem. If you wanna learn more just google tegus and read about them.

  • thx man

  • Visit W W W. T E G U T A L K. C O M without the spaces man. Do alot of research before you think about getting one. They are a big responsibility and can be a handful.

  • do you sell dawarf tegus ?

  • thats like a lizard the size ofm a dog what size tank u nee dofr them

  • as large as possible black and white's can get up to 5 and a half feet long and a lot of it is body so they get huge, it's better to just build your own enclosure but also let it roam a lot

  • It's better to feed a tegu a mix of ground turkey and bone meal. A tegu's digestive system has an easier time to maintain regularity with little to no hair from its food. They also really enjoy apples.

  • Also, it is a better idea to make sure the tegu does not associate you with food. It is a much better idea to remove the tegu from the cage while placing food in the cage. Or if feeding outside of the cage, make sure the food dish is already placed on the floor before removing the tegu for feeding.

  • get owned little mouse...i love how he licked its lips

  • That's a Black and white Tegu

  • good work

  • re tagus easy to take care of and are they good pets, and whats the tank size for an adult?

  • Tegus are realatively easy to take care of, not as easy as a bearded dragon of course. Cos you have to worry about humidity.

Tegus are awesome pets! They tame down a lot easier than monitors. They can get big though. I think an adverage size tank for an adult is supposed to be something like 6-8 feet in length, with a good ground size, but it doesn't have to be tall at all cos they are ground-dwellers.

  • hey do you think a 5 foot long by 4 foot wide (its two feet tall but that doesnt matter i think)

    is ok for one adult?

  • HUGE TEGU...VERY COOL SIR.
