i am from mn and i was sooo shocked when this happened i called all my friends and family and they were alright i am so shocked i am sorry for all the famillies who had a friend or family killed or injured my heart goes out of everyone of u!!
I can't believe how emotionless you people are! I live about 15 miles from the bridge. Went to see it Saturday and it just broke my heart. This is a living Hell and you guys can just sit here and talk about how it is so convenient...My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the families of the missing. We are all up here in Minnesota freaking out and hoping we aren't going to see a picture pop up of someone we love and you can just sit around and blame politics rather than have a heart!
Really sad that it had to happen. Webber Falls OK people google it, we lost 11 people and apprantly it made no diffrence, because all our bridges are still in bad shape. It is so sad that now all these people are suffering because we spend more money on sports, travel, entertainment, and wars than we do our own roads and bridges
That is so sad. I can't believe that something so horrible can happen when they inspect these structures, how do things like this happen? I feel for everyone who's family was affected by this disaster.
It never ceases to amaze me that structures built of metal, steel, rock, can fall into a crumpled mess of twisted debris. My thoughts go out to the family I am from ND and have relatives there and thank god they were safe. My thoughts and prayers go to anyone who has family an friends there.
I'm from MN and was still at work when this happened, the first I heard about it was a friend who sent out a text message letting everyone know she was ok. I had no idea what she was talking about so I called a different friend...then i saw it on Yahoo's homepage. Crazy stuff...i hope i don't know anyone who's got killed. Sorry for those involved.
Well if it was done on purpose, and I'm not saying it was, but that would be the purpose...to shock the masses. Shock puts people in a vulnerable position.
Yeah, whatever. I uploaded this to show friends on a personal website the local reaction and everyone on YT went insane. You don't like it then stop looking at it.
No more comments because there are too many people with coward accounts wasting their life making stupid replies.
i heard aboat this 5 hrs after it happened on CNN. i feel SoOo bad for those that where heavly affected by this! being from Pennsylivania my heart goes out to ya'll!!
That's strange... they say they're going to investigate the reason why it collapsed... why didn't they do that to the WTC buildings, which weren't supposed to collapse? I mean, they even want to put the bridge back together again as a jigsaw puzzle. At Ground Zero they just removed the debris together with bodyparts... Makes you wonder huh?
Fuck off 'CLDFRG.' What did Australia ever contribute to the world. Fosters? you can keep your piss beer. Next time you travel on a airplane, you can thank the Americans.
i lived like 30 min away from this and there was alot of rescue trucks just driving out from the fd wow! police went there from the airport that is how bad it was!!man i will never forget this!
sounds like you americans are way behind in your bridge and steam pipe technology, you realy should catch up with the rest of the world, i think id rather live in a country with better education, lower taxes, a smarter leader, and a better chance of not dying wen i drive over a bridge or walk over a steam pipe, or maybe your bridges and steam pipes are fine and god just hates you, probably the first one.
thank you to blizzeekitty for this posting. im a former minneapolis resident and my brother lives there. he wasnt there. im breathing again. thank you very very much.
I think a boat crashed into a support beam and caused it to collapse. Because someone on the bridge who was rescused said they heard a Boom, bounce and then a fall. So the whole bridge could have crushed the boat.
I only heared of this 10 mins ago... My thoughts are with them and all of you over there!!! I send bucket loads of good Karma to all afected, May there be no more deaths! :¬(
During Rush Hour... perfect TIME for a bridge to collapse. More weight than normal... Quit instilling fear and paranoia into the public subconciously.
I agree - Im British & our news broadcasters simply relay information, American newcasters seem to scream panic & hysteria - making a simple problem or news item in A HUGE incident.
Simple problem? 2000 feet of bridge fell from the sky. You can't compare all American newscasters. These newscasters were in shock. Things like this don't happen in the Midwest.
I didnt mean the Bridge collapsing was a "simple problem" - I meant simple problems in general - it is true the American newscasters are (atleast) - sensationalists> Come on admit it!
I saw this on CNN while cycling at the spa. Crazy stuff. I do hope your brother is okay. I am sure he is. But I will definitely have him in my prayers, Ms. Jen.
There is a confirmed 1 death =( I live right about 5 miles away from this bridge, this will take months and months to fix, if not years. Ill pray for all those involved...
Good news! We were treated to pictures of it in this morning's newspapers. Wonder what kind of kickback scandals will be unearthed as a result of this...?!
Has explosions been ruled out? the bridge came down like a highway in an earthquake. any unusual vibrations? is there a seismic reading at that time?

It's amazing things like this don't happen everyday all over this country!
As gas tax money gets dirverted for other causes, ALL gas tax money should be spent on the highway infrastructure rebuilding.
Just wait until one of New York's bridges falls into the river!
It's only a matter of time!

Time to check city official's money accounts. Someone wanted to rebuild the bridge. New beginnings sometimes require burning old bridges.
