  • Lol, I just knew Dusty couldn't help but make an analogy about himself.....

  • @JoeyRace01 har.

  • The 4 Horsemen was the best Group in the history of the wrestling business they owned NWA/WCW but when you go to the WWE it's like Jeff Jarrett said Vince will always have control and that's what happen to the Brainbusters...

  • a few thing i remember one i was pissed they left to to the wwf and two they could outwrestle everyone on the wwf roster and three vince fucked up and should of let them kill everyone..lol

  • WWF has never had tag teams as good as the NWA/WCW had. When I think of the great tag teams I think of R&R express, Midnight Express, Tully and Arn, Road Warriors before I think of even the Hart Foundation. What Jim Crocketts promotion lacked was the marketing genius Vince had. Vince knew how to package his product. His production values were far superior. If NWA had the marketing skill Vince had there would be no WWF today. Bottom line.

  • @BSGdepot I'd put the Hart Foundation in the class of those tag teams, the British Bulldogs and the Killer Bees also could have hung with those tag teams as well. Hell even the Rockers. I'd love to have seen the Rockers vs. the Rock n' Roll express. How awesome would that have been? Another underrated WWF tag team back then was the Orient Express. They always put on good matches.

  • @Antrizzle2009 Yeah you're probably right Hart Foundation were up there. It's just compared to the wealth of tag teams that came through the NWA it's no contest. Ya know? Rockers originally came from AWA and then WWF so Vince didn't create them. Bulldogs were also very good, just not nearly as good as the Road Warriors, Tully & Arn, Midnight Express or R&R express.

  • Arn & Tully weren't making peanuts in JCP. Paul Ellering, a manager, was drawing a bigger salary than the 2 combined. Also, Crockett was on the verge on bankruptcy. That's why Arn & Tully left. When WCW wouldn't re-sign Tully because of the drug test, Arn took a cut in salary. For a long time, Ric Flair was angry with Tully because of that. That was the second time that Arn had gotten screwed in Atlanta.

  • I totally agree with The American Dream. They were the best ever.

  • right, vince russo, mcmahon helped for sure, but between russo, laurenitis, bitchoff, and kevin nash. thats the ruination of pro wrestling

  • I dont know why everyone talks about 4h like there something big, to me there nothing nobodys but kmarts version of a wrestler 4h are kkk

  • Vince ruined the "Brainbusters". End of story. 2 wrestlers better than anything the clown show known as the WWF ever was.

  • i enjoy wrestling from nwa, to attitude , even to now (though much less) i think each era had its bright spots. Rock clearly got over due to his natural charisma, his phenomenal look, and his great mic skills. Rock is a complete package.

  • The Tully & Arn as the 4 Horsemen were way better then the Brainbusters.

  • plain and simple vince and his ideas and actions killed wrestling.. he didnt want them using competing promotions ideas so he changed them up to suit his style of wrestling.. in my mind the polka dots and the busters wre insults to legends.. vince tried to act like noone had ever seen them before..like we wouldnt notice that the one man gang is akeem the dream... another case of changing for the worse

  • @arlichar11 So the Attitude Era killed wrestling too? Check the ratings, hot shot.

  • @cheifguggletram the ratings miht have been good , but the product was sucky...

stone cold was beliveable as he was like a real guy...

the rock.. however was super lame, and not belivable... still no clue why he got over, esp after he was booed as rocky maiva... ! the point is.. i can watch old promos, clips of pre 94 stuff all day... anything after that i cant stomach for more than a few minutes ..

  • @arlichar11 HAHAHAH The Rock is possibly the greatest wrestler the WWE has ever seen.1998 - 2004 was the greatest time for wrestling, bar none. The "wrasslin" era of these old farts was boring and stiff.

  • @cheifguggletram i feel so sorry for you.... if the only wrestling you have seen is wwe...

and if you claim to like the attitude era... then you should watch anything not wwe before 1992..AWA GCW MSW and you will see real wrestling no gimmicks.. and where vince stole his idea for so called attititude.. it wasnt an idea it was his dumb ideas didnt work anymore,.so he went to back to the oroginal style and claimed as his own..btw Rock still lamest gimmick ever

  • @cheifguggletram Vince McMahon can't take credit for The Rock. Vince initially didn't know what to do with him, so he tried to make him into a carbon copy of his father, Rocky Johnson. Even his name, Rocky Maivia, was an homage to his father and grandfather, who were both wrestlers. Vince's idea failed. It was only when he left well enough alone and allowed The Rock's own personality and charisma to shine through did he become a star.

  • @brownhornet22 That is true. Pretty much every wrestler we know today as legends: Stone Cold, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, etc all did it themselves. I've heard people say that the best characters that end up being timeless are ones that are just extreme versions of the real persons' personality and it seems like it is indeed true.

  • @brownhornet22 the rock was the lamest ever .. he failed as maiva cuz he sucked..

im still not sure why he got over.. he was lame and so were his moves..

sure he had charisma and could talk... his popularity was based on comedy not realistic or talent...! hes a joke... hes not taken serious in hollywood because hes the rock.. and cant go back to wrestling,.. because hes the tooth fairy..lol

  • @arlichar11 I'm not sure I agree with that. The Rock is much more successful than any other WWF/E wrestler before him, including Hulk Hogan. Hogan could never make it in the movies (except Rocky III), due to his clownish WWF persona. No one outside of WWF fans was buying that "...prayers and vitamins" B.S. We all knew it was steroids. Plus The Rock has been successful enough to make the periodic switch between wrestling and acting.

  • @brownhornet22 yeah success and and being beleivable and intriguing to watch are not same thing

i dont wanna see hogan or the rock both with lame moves but i must say hogan at least good character,as far as being the stongest man in the world basicly? what was the rock supposed to be , i never figured that out.a chef? alcatraz escapee? don morocco copy cat? rico suave? a joke? people do like comedy

  • @arlichar11 Different eras you're talking about. By the time the Rock came along, wrestlers weren't character based, they were supposed to be more realistic. The only "cartoon character" so to speak that was still relevant in the Attitude Era was Undertaker. The rest of the guys prett much, Rock, Austin, Triple H, they went for a more realistic approach as were the times.

  • @Antrizzle2009 thats what i dont get is what was realistic about the rock? hes why i stopped watching wrestiling cuz it was so lame and unrealistic...

  • @arlichar11 I dunno, we'll just have to agree to disagree on that. I though the Rock was funny as shit when he was crackin jokes on people.

  • @arlichar11 one of the main things that won him huge amounts of fans can be summed up in one sentence. "Take that comment, print it out, crumple it into a ball, shine it all up, turn it side ways and shove it straight up your roody poo candy ass!"

  • @arlichar11 couldn't agree more. you had dusty rhodes going from headlining main events in the NWA to dancing around like an idiot in the wwf. i couldn't believe when i saw rhodes' vignettes before his debut. terrible. same with the brain busters. seemed flair was the only one who didn't get pushed down the rank. but of course it would have been pretty hard for vince to do that considering flair was almost just as popular as hogan at the time.

  • @arlichar11 One reason why I'll always hate Vince McMahon. He took my favorite wrestler, Dusty Roads, and turned him into a dancing clown. Polka dots? WTF??

  • @brownhornet22 yeah.. dusty still made it work somehow,,

  • @brownhornet22 I completely agree. WWF made jackasses out of ALOT of great NWA fighters. Look at what they did to Hacksaw Jim Duggan! The made the New Zealand Sheepherders into silly fan favorites. And then there's The Red Rooster! Thank god for youtube!

  • @KSmithism yeah almost every good nwa wcw wrestler who ever went wwf , was turned into lame cartoonlike .. i mean i admit there was time where i was very into wwf , but i was not even ten yet... so that style works 4 the kids audience.. as i grew older , and had more exposure to.the other territorys, i realized what was the best product, and was not in wwf! i can watch old promos, clips of te old stuff all day.. but only can sto, axch a few mins of anything after 93

  • @arlichar11 The Akeem part of this is absurd. They had a big vignette/promo of One Man Gang (with Slick) turning from the Gang into Akeem. He wasn't trying to pull a fast one with him.

  • @frythedeliveryguy well i didnt rember that until u mention... but m case is still valid.. as your taking a good character and turning him lame.and was still not believable.. that guy from chicago is sudddenly african?.. i mean its pretty obvious that killed his career, and cant go back.. not to mention this wasnt the first or last character change that went bad..

do i really need list lol.

  • I don't think Dusty EVER wrestled against Arn & Tully in WWF when they were the 'Brainbusters'! Never saw them together in any setting!

  • @MrCarl220 He didn't. They weren't in the WWF long enough. Arn and Tully left in Oct 1989 and Dusty didn't come there until the summer of 89' and his first feud was with teh Big Bossman.

  • If you remember from Flair's book, it was Dusty who was booker and telling the Crockets not to pay Arn and Tully what they wanted, that forced their hand to leave WCW. He told Flair, "Who need them as long as I have you?". Dusty is the one who underestimated the draw of the Horsemen and was largely responsible for their demise. Of course in hindsight, I enjoyed 'The Brainbusters' too. Shame Tully couldn't make the return in '90 due to a failed drug test. That would've been truly classic.

  • @MyMachine123

Flair has a lot of axes to grind

  • He's right which is why when I hear people saying the NWO or Evolution no way.

Because fans rooted for the Horseman even though it was not the plan.

  • dusty rhodes rules !!!
