Liston clearly got hit with a sharp, hard right hand. No question he went down from a punch. If there is some question here it is what kind of shape Liston came into the fight in. He looks trim enough but the fact he overdosed on heroin five or six years later raises some issues about his conditioning.

@nadiersmuk I'm sure you know more about Sonny Liston than I do. He was a strong and smart heavyweight. I was trying to defend him against the charge of throwing this fight. The mafia does murder people and a drug overdose is one of the easiest ways to get away with it. Being African-American and being found dead of apparent drub overdose in the 1970's I can imagine it wasn't investigated fully even though he was a celebrity. No offense to Sonny intended. Greg G.
