My friend told me to listen to this song, and I was like "Hey, I might have just listened to the wrong Rush songs, and haven't heard the good ones." That's what I did with Zeppelin, but Zeppelin proved me right with the fact that they were a great band. This didn't happen with Rush. They suck. I was telling him that Eminem whoops Rush's ass any day, and I was right. Better lyrics, better beats/instrumentals, and the fact that I don't want to kill myself while listening to him. Rush sucks.

As for my second statement, I was referring to people who had heard of Rush, obviously if you haven't heard it you can't love or hate it. Perhaps I am being too narrow minded, however given the knowledge that I may be such doesn't change my views.

@Glen2k1 So, once the two bands showed that they had something trully great to boast about (plus Rush is Canadian FTW), I came to like both bands. So now i move on to the latter half of your comment. As I said, Rush has the best drummer ever. Only drummers that really compete are a few metal drummers. Better beat? And as for instrumentals, Rap in itself is all about the singer, so that's a wrong statement. The best part was that you don't want to kill yourself, HA.

Let's compare this song with Eminem's most popular song, Not Afraid (hope that's agreeable, I hear you rap/hip hop likers care about popularity). Tom sawyer is one of the most influential characters ever made, and is probably the greatest of all of Mark Twain's books (PEDIGREE). This song talks of an individual who rises above the rest of society. Simplistic. Something you could follow.

For one, my whole point is that popularity has nothing to do with talent and skill, so in essence you agree with me on everything except who is good and who isn't. So let me formally ask: Why do you think Eminem is better than Rush? Rush, who has the all-time best drummer and one of the most unique styles and singers ever? Are you sure that modern society isn't clouding your judgment?

@Glen2k1 Then there's Eminem's song. Undoubtedly, it's about coming back from addictions. The way he states he did, you wold almost believe he was still in them. And have you heard the cussing? I'm not a huge anti-swearing type of guy, but when you do it just to make your song "manly" you have the same intent as the stupid trolls on youtube. My problem: you have to be doing something horrid to benefit. If you actually ARE in that position, this song will only depress you more. That is all.
