  • I'm getting the same surgery for the same problem. do you think that the surgery will make my lips bigger or unproportional?

  • look at his side picture now.Even with the swelling of surgery he still looks much much better. Numbness is a temperory thing. It is a difficult surgery, but patient feels nothing as he is in total sleep. The surgeons are well-trained, so not to worry. When patient gets up,surgery is over & little or no pain due to powerful pain killers. No scar..Results are amazing,so if you are suggested this surgery, just don't get scared ,go for it.I am a surgeon & wrote this to clear many doubts seen in here.

  • @mynameisboola yeah boola is absolutely correct many people only see this video and don't watch my current or recent videos to see what I am like after. I also have a website in the side bar that shows a before and after picture of me

  • omg you look like someone went jackie chan on your face...but at least that surgery was for your own good.

  • do they go threw your cheeks to cut the bone? i thougt they go threw the ear behind the thingy thing.

  • @swapREEByumyum they go threw the check that is why I have band aids on my cheeck

  • OMG, i am 13 , and i have the same problem as you, well you 'had' and i really want to have itbecause some people kind made fun out of it :L it is kinda annoying, but does it really hurt ?? or is it worth it?

  • @xxxsuexxx23 it doesn't hurt as much as you think it might. And I believe it is totally worth it!

  • im tired of the swelling/numbness... its day 5 for me..

  • @backdraftmagnet it will get better trust me. look at some of my recent videos and you will see how much I have improved. I am sure you are in tip top shape now huh?

  • @fatbrowne haha. yes, many things have changed from then to now.

  • You should of used subtitles lol (j/k)

You look much more amazing post op. Altho it isnt very clear in this vid, the signs are just so obvious. Plz upload more recent vid. It's been more than two years since the op was done and you must of improved big time since then.

I'm about to commit. First SARPE - > braces -> jaw surgery. Plan to be done in 2012.

  • @SudiArabia I have post more recent videos. Have you seen my youtube channel?

  • Now you have double chin...in my opinion you were better before

  • @gusgarmoy Thanks but that is only in this video because it is the day after surgery and I am still swollen here. I don't have a double chin now

  • He looked better before surgery

  • only cause he is swollen!

  • @IWannabeDiva1 yeahI look a lot better now

  • hey im having mines done 2morro and im soo scared!! i feel liek crying

  • not feelign much pain, just hungry for the most part!

  • @IWannabeDiva1 eat some soup. Drink some shakes and enjoy

  • I had my palate and lower jaw fixed. My face was hugely swollen and I was in the ICU for 3 days. and the hospital for a week. They placed 41 screws, 7 plates, and 2 plastic cheek-bones

  • @ryanjames731 damn that sounds intense! I think the most I had was 2 screws. Did you have yours done a long time ago?

  • you poor bastard. i might have to get this done. was at the dentist today. turns out my jaws bending sidways. it should have been corrected 12 yrs ago but my previous dentist missed it. i always had a click in my jaw and the new dentist told me its because i've like a disc slippin in my jaw and basically have artritus in my jaw. how are you now?

  • @tonybaa83 i am doing great! I am very happy that I got the jaw surgery over all. And I am glad that I can share my story and tell others about my experience online

  • @fatbrowne he's now saying that braces shud sort my jaw out but have to get four wisdom teeth pulled and a butt load of fillings, the wisdom teeth out to make room for the braces to pull my tiny teeth apart and eventually he's goin to build on my little teeth. sounds painful but i'll bet anything that your procedure hurt more ya hero!

  • the worst i think is that you can´t ear anything normal after the surgery for like 4 or five weeks.

Im so waiting to eat a huuuuuuge steak when my jaw is normal again :P

  • @Liquidence I think I ate at a Japanese steakhouse before I went under with the surgery. It gets better.

  • awww i'm also having jaw surgery my lower and well top but just aliitle OH and my nose so everythings in place awwww i'm sooo nervous to wt least for that first week after the jaw surgery with my face being swollen and well was it hard to eat ... er well drink in this case lol ^^;

  • @simplyscar good luck simplycar

  • How long did it take to get all the feeling back? My chin and lower lip are numb and some of the side of my face. The numbness is causing alot of pain and its already been like 4 weeks since the surgery. But next week im getting my wires cut and i can start eating soft foods.

  • Well your results look good im gettin this dun soon im really nervous! :S

  • @LCWmachinima Thanks! I hope your results are as good as mine were

  • ah im getting this july 12

  • @grace2thec good luck!

  • How long did your jaw say swollen. I jus can back from the hospital and my face is swollen from the jaw surgery

  • @punjabimundia Sorry

  • @punjabimundia it was swollen for about a month. But most people did not notice unless I told them

  • he's hot

  • @goldenfilly Thanks. I get that a lot!

  • how much did your surgery cost you? how long do doctors recommend that you rest before going back to work?

  • @MsJasmineBrooks $24,000 They say 2 weeks usually. I did about a week and a half

  • i have this problem too but i really dont want to do this i just want to do teeth implant i really have 4 bad teeth and need i rather do teeth implant then this

  • @bigboy6969100 some peope don't have the option to get teeth implants. Like I had to get surgery to correct my bite

  • i'm thinking of getting it done.. eeeeek

  • oh god im dreading this

  • I need to have this surgery...Because of my jaw being out of place, I have an accent, my bite is out of wack and Im very self conscious! (Sometimes, when I talk or even eat, I bite the inside of my mouth. God I hate this) Anyway, I only have two questions, how long did you wear the braces and how long did it take to fully recuperate?

    Thank you

  • @EdaBrrs It took me bout a month to fully recover.

Sorry about having a bad bite but it is not your fault. I am glad I got mine fixed.

  • LOL this is the funniest of your jaw surgery vidz, everyone looks like crap rite after surgery, even me haha

  • @heyhey20202020 thanks i knew i had to post it the day after

  • i will be having this same surgery in the coming weeks. how different do you think you looked afterwards? thats the part that kinda freaks me out...

  • Congrats!! You really look diff. Its good to know that there are people with the same problem that me ,and the most part ,it can be fixed. Very expensive though ,but worth it. !!!! Anyways, does this surgery change your life? Are you more selfconfident?

  • Yes I find myself to be a whole lot more self confident and I would suggest the surgery to anyone that can afford it.

  • 26ezed

im 16 and the prosedure is to start when i'm 17.

  • That sounds reasonable

  • at what age you got surgery ..because i have the same problem, but i am 25 years now,the age factor makes me to think negative from the surgery option.

  • 22 I was. I was told there is a 5% chance something could go wrong like perm numbness. However, if you are younger you are more likely to recover so you have like a 2% chance of something bad happening.

  • Hey I had the surgery 5 days ago..... I've notice my smile looks like I am tryin too hard(I guess becuz of the rubberbands and numbness) did orthognatic treatment and patience helped this situation out???? Thanks for ur advice in advance

  • Yes you must have patience and know that you will recover and turn out better than you were before.

  • not trying to be rude but how much did this cost ?

  • $24,000

  • Was most of the work done on the outside of your face or inside your mouth? Do you have any screws or plates?

  • i had screws put in. most of the work was done on the inside

  • Do you still have them inside you?

  • Yes I will have them forever

  • My jaw looks something like yours before. Would the doctors show you how your face will look like after the surgery?

  • No other than to hear other people's story and see before and after pictures.

  • did u have upper and lower jaw sugery? b/c u look way better than i did the day after

  • Just lower surgery

  • I had the same thing done twice. I had my first surgery when I was 13 and they pushed my lower jaw back and my upper jaw forward. My lower jaw started growing back so they had to do another surgery when I was 18, and for that one they only did the lower jaw. I am now 20 and overall everything stayed pretty much the same. I have had a little relapse but nothing major. I am very happy I did it

  • That is good to hear about your story. I have heard of people that have had two surgeries because of a relapse.

  • Hello, thanks for uploading this, it's very interesting to see as I am having both my upper jaw brought forward and lower taken back. Did you have your upper done too? I'm really scared, but I've wanted it done for years. And seeing your positive comments is making me want it done even more,so thanks, especially after reading about permanent numbness.

  • I just had the bottom not the top and bottom.

  • big differrence congrats

wish i had the courage to make one

  • anybody can do it!

  • Congrats. Big difference, looks good :)

Was it terribly expensive? I need to correct my crossbite/underbite... bleh.

  • yes $24,000 total

  • how long is the swelling?

  • it lasted for about less than a week.

  • how long were you swollen.

  • it lasted for about less than a week.

  • How much did it cost?

  • 24,000 it says on my webpage

  • wow you look to be in great condition. considering its the day after surgery. I'm still scared my jaw surgery is scheduled somewhere in June. take care!

  • Don't be scared mine was may 14th. You can check out my webpage for more info.

  • hi! i just wanted to know if you experienced any pain from tmj before you had the surgery? i'm considering it, but due to an underbite that causes severe tmj.

  • No pain did I experience. Except for when I would bite the sites of my mouth and I would get canker sores. Those used to hurt a lot.

  • Everyone who wants to ask a question. Please visit my website to the right of the video in the info box.

I put up a FAQ if you don't see you question feel free to ask it here.

  • I had this surgery done 3 years ago except mine was an overbite?. My lower jaw went back and had to be moved forward. Got work done on both jaws. Glad I did it. I look better than I did before :P

  • Man, you deserve 5 stars for this. I wish I had done a video a day after my surgery! Great!

  • I have to have the same surgery as you next summer on about July 7. I'm scared. Never had surgery where they have to cut you anywhere.

  • well good luck it was a piece of cake for me.

  • hi, congratulations on your surgery, you look great. i've only just got my braces and will undergo the same operation as you in a year and a half. plenty of time to get worked up and nervous about it...

do you notice any differences in your speech since the operation? and what about your breathing? i'm a bad snorer and was told that this operation might help! the one thing i'm a bit worried about is the possibility of lip numbness.

  • no difference in speech. no numbness.

  • Your using "for the most part" as a verbal crutch.

Aside from that, congrats on the surgery man.

  • Forgive me for the speech I gave, I had just had Jaw Surgery.

  • Thats cool man. Im glad your doin well, back at work etc... I wonder why anyone would be unhappy? I am really actually excited to get it done man.. Its the end result that your looking for anyways.

    Stay up man, congrats.

  • Hey bro... Hope your doin well, its been a couple weeks since your surgery. I will be doing both upper and lower jaws in about 4-5 months, and will be getting the braces on here in a couple weeks. I am really glad to see there are other people in my same boat. How long will you be wearing the rubber bands? Any advice you could give someone in my position?

    Hope your doin well

    Thanks

  • Yeah I am back to work now even though I still wear my bite split. My advice would be make sure you get insurance to pay. Stay positive, I hear about a lot of negative people that are not happy afterwards. I am happy, honestly the only painful thing about it is the expense.

  • i have to get this done too. and im terrified of the pain. is it painfull?

  • not for me.

  • ignore that last message, the first one didn't send

    I thought this might help

myspace com /myjawsurgery (fill it in)

as I had the same operation (except I had the top jaw done also). it has some food tips on

I watched your video before my op, it was good to know others were going through the same thing as me :)

Also I was wondering if you knew of a place I could watch the surgical procedure you had done, as I've already watched the top jaw and wisdom teeth removal videos.

    Thanks Laura

  • Good to see the process you are going through and sharing it with others.

  • oh and your lukin great btw! forgot to say in the last message lol

  • thanks

  • My daughter is due to have her surgery done next month. She is having her upper jaw done. Is that what you had done? What are you eating at the moment,we need some ideas. Hope you are feeling better each day.

  • my mom has been making me soups that are broth and milk shakes. My dad has made me some potatoes.

  • wow ur not that swollen!!

  • You don't think so? Maybe you should see some of the pics 2 or 3 days after

  • ausumn, I too have an overbite and am thinking of getting corrective surgery. Ok, u look like you look really messed up but Im thinking it should be worth it... good luck!

  • it is totally worth it!
