sorry i mean 787b , and i think its faster than f1 ...in le mans engine was "same" as in f1 and mazda after big demolishion of rest cars got restricted to starts with wankel. But i wont say tat mazda beat on track F1 because as you said that "The combination of cornering, braking and acceleration levels are unmatched by any other race series or cars therein" . Maybe some day we will see on historic cars gp a mazda and a f1 from those days .

There is no way the 787 is as quick as an F1 car, no way. The 787 is 850KG and 700HP, an F1 car is 650KG and also about 700HP. Do the math. Beside, no other machine on earth has the type of cornering ability that an F1 car has. Maybe a fly, but I'm not sure.

its interesting... but when you see how fast can go car on rotary engine (if you know something more then wikipedia knowlege about rotary) , then you'll see that HP in rotary (in this case 4rotor) is kind of different thing than in usually V8 engine  . Another thing that ... sound of 4rotor is even greater than F1, and that is a fact . I`m not saying about time lap, cozz sure thing the construction of todays F1 "cars" helps to be the fastest on the track.

It's the same HP in both engines. Rotary engines for me at least are incredible and should be used in many more cars, but regardless of this, the F1 car is the fastest thing on four wheels around a track. There is nothing on this planet that can do a lap faster, nothing.

NO other type of racing car can lap conventional race circuits quicker than an F1 car. The combination of cornering, braking and acceleration levels are unmatched by any other race series or cars therein. The Mazda 727c is not even the fastest mazda race car !!! But it does not matter which mazda you mention, NONE are anywhere near an F1 car....

It's just a shame that current f1 drivers/directors/managers/etc­. haven't got the guts to include this track in the championship...everybody knew that f1 was dangerous, everybody knew that they could die in every corner but they did it...that was part of the "glamour"...today that part was gone...they're always trying to minimize the risks, making it boring for everyone: drivers and spectators..

Even in the past, if the cars were as fast as today's f1 cars, they wouldn't have raced at nurburgring. in current condition, actually racing at nurburgring woudln't just be dangerous, it'd be nearly suicidal.

yeah, the length would be a major issue with broadcasting. the bottom line is that FIA wants a f1 race at the old ring, they'd have to change that track so much to a degree where much of what make the ring great'd be gone due to safety issues (bumpiness of the track, tons of high speed bends, blind corners, etc).

It wasn't quick. It was a leisurely drive - not even remotely close to being driven in anger. If I remember correctly, modern Grand Prix cars have been simulated on the 'Ring in the sub 5 minute range.
