  • By far the best cover I ever heard of Imagine.

  • Religion and money are the ruin of the World and make the man worst than possible

  • Thank you, Neil. Nice and meaningful in every way.

  • the best tribut of J. Lennon. Perfect. Neil is great.

  • If one can, Neil can!! ..)

  • I think john Lennon would have loved this version, sounds just like the original

  • A Canadian singing a song by a Brit for an American tribute. Awesome. Love it.

  • Lovely job Neil. I believe that John would have loved to hear you sing this.

  • thank you neil. lennon would glad about it.

  • How do you dislike this song? I dont care who sings it. The words make it beautiful. Ugh

  • @maddie021409 I beg to differ. Look up "Vinh Bui australian idol" and you'll see why

  • The song doesn't say there is no Hell -- the song says Imagine

Everyone forgets that the song mentions possessions and greed --- more people have suffered and been killed over money than religion

More people have been killed over sex than religion

  • @48dodea Are you religious? I wouldn't be surprised. I understand why you would want it to be that way. But sex is closely connected to religious rules. Furthermore, religion IS the cause of the world's biggest and longest conflicts. A religion is the answer to the question that binds humanity, but the answer to that question (Why are we here? or, is there life after death?) is what seperates humanity. The more religion, the more difference, the more conflicts.

  • beautiful song, very weak vocal performance

  • @kovelas With all respect, fuck you. Neil has never been a singer, yet he sings with so much emotion. And I think he did a great job.

  • neil did full justice to this great song.

  • This song isn't anti-religion. It's about hope, peace and acceptance of people of all beliefs or no beliefs.

  • It´s just plain sad that great artists like Neil Young has to be the ones raising money for victims killed by the us gov.

  • @TheDanne1981 you are sadly mistaken, they were killed by terriorist's from the Islamist militant group Al-Qaeda/look it up if you don't believe me

  • @mysteriouslauralucy Everyone has the right to belive whatever they want, you me and the rest of earths population. And when the us. gov. shows me the photage from a near by hotel security cam by the pentagon that it was infact a AA plane crashing the pentagon. I might once again start to belive in that al-qaeda angle the world was tricked into belive in. But until then, I choose to look at the facts, not what the us gov. tells me to belive. I bet you think there acctually was nukes in iraq too?

  • @TheDanne1981 You are right about everyone has the right to believe what the believe in,I think your wrong but you have a right to have your own opinion, have a great day:]

  • @TheDanne1981 Hands down for that post :)

  • can someone tell me why there are 109 dislikes? Deaf?? Heartless?? Terrible taste in music??

  • @DOORS20 The 109 dislikes are probably mostly religious fanatics who think religion aka a christian theocracy is the answer all our problems. A tiny percentage may be purists who think no one can do the song justice.

  • @silvior47 I wonder what books John Lennon read that gave him reasons to think that there is no hell ? Do you know? When I was stuck in Christianity I heard that song but probably just thought, " Well nice hope but how can you know there isn't a hell? Orthodoxy claims there is one ". Had Lennon read Nietzsche, Joseph Wheless, Robert Ingersoll, Bertrand Russell, Darwin, David Strauss, Schweitzer, James Frazer or just his own good judgement that Old Writ looked mostly fiction fantasy?

  • @DOORS20 ,Why?There's a dislike Button for those of a different view,or taste in music,Or Should everyone share Your View ,And If Not,They are,In Your Words..."Deaf-Heartless-Terrible Taste in Music ",You Have clearly not Grasped the Sentiment at the Very Core of This Amazing Song,Live and Let Live,Regardless of Differing Views.

  • Probably the only vocal that could cover it.

  • @realgungho Lennon did say if he could have had anyone's voice it would have been Neil Young

  • Excellent version of a song which is probably the most important and relevant lyrically related song of all time.

  • This song is just the song to sing at this time.

  • Only remake of imagin I ever could enjoy.

  • *Chills*

  • @BerkLeeDrm hey sissy american i heve sumpin' just for U, come here, a little closer, ok now on your knees! *unzips pants*

  • extremely beautiful ; what a talent !!!!!! Neil Young I love YOU

    this is so wonderful !

  • only Neil could sing this song with the same soul as John,in fact John could have written it for neil since it fits so well with his voice.

  • @edenambalaj Sorry pal but this is a Neil Young vid. Suggest you STFU, go away, make your own vid, and then see what people think ...

  • I bet I can sing better than this dude. Sorry fans my judgement not being cruel..

  • @edenambalaj That might be the case, but I bet a lot of people would rather listen to Neil Young sing than you.

  • @b0nd33 I totally agree with you. He has the fans he is famous but he is week comparing to stars existing at his category. Being such famous had to fit with a better voice and control I assume. Lucky guy, what can I say...

  • @b0nd33 Just listen to this young guy to how he sings this song and let me know what you think. youtube.com/watch?v=8QqAVFwGwaI

  • Too shaky voice. Didn't like the control to his voice nor the vibratos. The tone is not bad though

  • @edenambalaj how about you cover this song yourself and let us see it before you talk shit. til then, shut the fuck up and quit being a troll

  • @DeadheadBeatleman Well I didn't attack Neil just don't know him, was the first time I heard him and didn't like it much. Youtube is not a place to attack each other I just commented that I could do a better version. That's my opinion. Silly or not but just shared it cause didn't find that strong, comparing especially to Elton John's performance. I still think that I can perform it better but you will never become a human being with that animal rude approach and let me remind you I was polite

  • @DeadheadBeatleman and let me add that I can list you all the fucked up words in the dictionarry but you need to learn how to respect people's thoughs, get it?

  • @edenambalaj still waiting to hear your version of this song, as you claim in three comments in a row that his voice is not good and you can sing better.. til then, I'm not taking back what I said. Commenting on a neil young video to say your voice is better = troll

  • @DeadheadBeatleman Well when I claimed that I can do it better I still stand on what I claimed but was not planning to proove that immediately. So my friend as long as you insist on your thougts that my challenge deserves being a troll and want some proof I promose that I will do this song as soon as I can which may take just a few weeks to organise a studio section and you should give me a promise to be very objective and give the words that really the videos deserves.

  • @DeadheadBeatleman And you have to promise that you'll be totally honest at that judgement day and that if you really like down deep mine's better than you'll ask me to forgive you in front of these millions give me the credit to win that challenge which I wasn't planning to start and scream out loudly that you are biggest troll on the net who prejudged a comment which was not ment to offend but just ment to share my personal toughts about that performance. If agreed, It's my turn to get to work

  • i almost cried i love you neil

  • Neil Young use to live like 20 minutes away from me :D

  • I imagine that everyday.

  • Imagine there were no muslims.

  • @ vloggingmeagan...i've been a huge fan of both neil young and john lennon, and i've never heard that quote before...could you tell me the source...

  • Nice job Neil!

  • Are there wars without religion? Surely.

Those who live in the USA are aware of gang groups in the cities. The Crips & Bloods are two groups that have "warred" with each other. Death toll? Not sure, but it is no doubt higher than the official war listing of the invasion of Grenada. The Crips & Bloods engage in territorial aggression (no religion involved).

The Civil War was over slavery, a profit-making exercise.

Yet, who fears the Church Choir & Bible study groups?

    No one.

  • @GodisTruthseekTruth The civil was not about slavery...it was about the state's rights to decide their own fate. The states lost and big govt. won.

  • neil and john what a talent for us all to share.

  • class act......Neil's wife Pegi said this is the song he had to do, and he agreed...most of the other musicians did their own songs

  • nice

  • nice

  • One of the most beautiful performance of this concert that was a beautiful cermony in memory of the 9/11 victims.

I remember watching it on French TV: there was nothing to add. Music is more powerful than political speeches, or journalists' opinions.

Ten years after, I would like to send my best wishes from France to our American friends and to all the victims of terror and unfair violence.

Respect to the American people who showed a lot of strength, brotherhood and dignity.

  • perfect performance great job Neil

  • Nice Neil, watching this on September 11th 2011 has more meaning than you really know!

    9-11-01 Never Forget!!

  • @FernandezSusan81 , yes, getting rid of religion would do the world so much good.

  • @yynnmmbb That's easy! Just kill them all.

  • @yynnmmbb yes, please.-.

Neil is so perfec in his emocion.

  • @yynnmmbb The world needs religion for the weak.

  • @yynnmmbb how can we get rid of religion when we find good business in here???impossible!!!

  • Perfect timing. But awful tragedy. My heart is in US, with every woman that's lost her kids or husband, father with no sons, and sons without father. May His light be within outwards you.

  • Just terrific.

  • Incredible.

  • imagine if we ALL imagined what we truly wanted at the same time!... just imagine!

  • I remember the day he sang this. Like it was his sacred duty to play this in John's place. We all peaceful people should gather our power in love and oneness.

  • @pleiadian13 yes:))))))

    YES YES:)))

If you not muslim you will be gone!

  • did Young ever meet Lennon?

  • May god bless everyone fighting for liberty, humanity and for others!

  • it sounds like there was john in his soul that night

  • man this is soooo good it made me cry, looks like this one really hits his soul too

  • sounds like Neil really feels this one

  • obama bush bin laden imagine

  • jesus buddha mohammed imagine

  • But,don't forget that JESUS IS THE VOICE OF TRUTH..

  • Neil's AWESOME

  • With Neil's great talent, he comes close to John Lennon's version, although this is John's song. A fantastic version of this beautiful song.

  • Neil Young has written this song, only in different words. To share in others works is an honor and Neil sings it with the same appeal that Lennon did.

  • Love it....two greats in harmony, John Lennon and Neil Young. What more could you want. It's around forty years from when this song came out, when will we ever learn.

  • @19HurdyGurdyMan46 Beautiful Glyn. I never imagined anyone else singing this with as much passion as John , I was mistaken. Neil Young has the same way of giving us spirit energy.

  • MickeyMantle.. I agree 100%.

  • Amazing. John would love it. Neil seems simultaneously to be true to John's original version while also making it his own. A genius at work.

  • great song by a great man and song by a great man.

  • Drunkchemist you fucking ass whole what the hell is the mater with u u shitty excuse for a person

  • A Brotherhood Of Man - Neil you're one-of-a-kind.

  • is he playing piano?

  • @themooddisorders ......of course ??? =.=

  • This is speacial goodness right here. :)

  • fuck clearchannel

  • I´ve been listening to this song for almosy 40 years, and it never stops touching me. This performance by Neil Young in a tribute to 9/11 victims says it all. I really hope the world will one day live as one, no matter how long it takes.

Thank you John for this masterpiece. It will live on as long as mankind sings!

  • @drunkchemist Yes, no war, no religion, such a bad fucking thing. Not having to fight to live in this world, or being judged for your beliefs.

  • @drunkchemist Communism in its purest form would be an incredible thing, it may be an impossibility for us humans, but that has no bearing on the song, it is called Imagine

  • @bobbydylanio One can only imagine the impossible if one takes mind altering drugs, like you do. I for one, like our differences, and like being different then the nigger, fag, etc. parasites I see plaguing my streets.

  • @drunkchemist Those 'differences' exist only in your mind.

  • @drunkchemist Thank you mr macarthy.

  • @urbwoerman Greatest senator ever you rabid liberal rat

  • you may say that i am a dreamer!!! But i am not the only one!!!!

  • This is very important...carry it in your Heart

  • I'm sorry, but on paper communism works, but then you add people ...

  • It is 2011 and 40 years later and this is still the best we have got. Do we all have to die for these middle eastern mountain gods? I understand John was a little blunt but can you at least try?

  • only Neil Young could cover this and make it amazing as Lennon's...version

  • @monkfistlust an intelligent person cool!

  • When John was interviewed in '71, they asked him what bands he listened to. he said, "oh, I don't listen to other bands, I'm trying to make my own music, but, that guy from Canada with the high skinny voice, he's pretty damn good"

    or words to that effect

  • John Lennon once said if he could have any singers voice he would've wanted neil young's voice... If john could see this I'm sure he would love it. RIP

  • @VloggingMegan

Exactly. Anyone who is a Lennon fan and who has ever complained at Neil Young's high Tenor/falsetto off pitch singing really should read up on history...because John Lennon did in fact say if he could sing like anyone it would be NEIL YOUNG...and you know why? Because Neil Young basically set the standard for emotionality with his voice. No one's voice is more emotional then Neil Youngs. That high tenor just breaks your heart...

  • @VloggingMegan I'm sure that he said that, but we all know that he would have killed for Harry Nilsson's voice.

  • @VloggingMegan bullshit, where the fuck did you hear that.

  • @frenchie2alfalfa some interview, calm down..

  • Hope Neil Young will remember ...

  • The Best cover of all on John Lennon,laughs,joke.......Thank you for existing,Neil Yong, vocë é o melhor músico que eu já vi!!!!!!!Jaison De Santana, from Joinville,Sta Catarina,Brasil!!!!!!

  • That was actually a good cover.

  • i ve been knowin it since i was a child and I still thrill each time I listen to that song, the best ever : Imagine, by John Lennon...

  • he was a great singer.

  • someone must have hacked youtube and entered 106 dislikes

  • Great Rendition Neil!!

  • AWESOME JUST AWESOME

  • check out my instrumental cover of this song /watch?v=YnKPbl24LWI

  • i love both versions (john's and neil's)..may all the souls lost in that tragic senseless event rest in peace, and have crossed over to the light...god bless the great united states of america....luv to you all from me from singapore

  • If MR Lennon were alive on september 11, 2001.......You bet your ass he woud be up there with a million followers singing imagine, and give peace a chance. This song will live forever as a peaceful song......SINCE MR Lennon is not alive today, who better to sing it then NEIL!!!

  • A respectful version of Imagine ; I think John would of liked it as well.

  • absolutely amazing

  • Out of pure&simple respect for he author-composer-performer and his genuine talent in his adourlifetime, I always dislike covers. But thisone hits the middle: I know no PEACEMAN greater than Neil Young himself, so her...'Imagine" sounds a bit unbritish but all so universal! PEACE! Bernard

  • lol at him trying to get high

  • Please listen to the message of this song. Lets eliminate the things that inspire hatred and divide between us! Most of all Religion and class division! We need to eradicate the disease that is religion, and eliminate the gap between the worlds rich and poor, only then will there be peace in the world ...

  • its fun to hear neil singing this song

  • the best cover i ever heard in my life !!!

  • I only wish there were singers who would sing for all the Afghanish people who were murdered because of America, all the Vietnamees people who were murdered, all the Palestinian children who were murdered because the US protected and created Israel, and all the other women and children their companies killed for oil, money, or power. God won't bless the United States of America, he blesses the poor and innocent. Stop kapitalism, before it stops us.

  • @meneerkeesoost go ahead and blame the us states for whatever, or oil , capitalism. type communist genocide in google and then repost .

  • This is breathtaking...Neil Young is on the Mount Rushmore of music!!!

  • thank you you did that song very well i think john would like it but of course he would probbly sing one of yours

  • I love corn on the cob and hermit crabs

  • Lennon and Young two great humans! Love them! And all the haters can stay in their own hell!

  • fantastic

  • Listen to the song do you really think Lennon imagined this song to be only sang by one type of person, NO its a song for the entire world to love and enjoy and be performed by anyone

  • @xdeathtoll Not sure of your point because of tragic grammar.

  • @Gatsby999888 oh, i"m, sorry? but: that shouldn,t be the! point.

  • @xdeathtoll everyone to everyoneee :D

  • Just watched this and started reading the comments. What a great version of a great song!! I'm British but feel sad reading some of the sick comments against Canadians / Americans.

  • @113jm

    You are so right!!

  • I like this song

    I hope to love&peace

  • Has anyone noticed such anger and animosity on all of these comments... on a song that represents nothing but peace? We have a long way to go as a race people if we could turn this song into a fight. Grow up.

  • winning arguments online is something like winning the special Olympics . even if you win your still retarded.

  • @Trunkfoot haha nice one
