You should have posted the actual ending too. No matter how many times i've tried, i can't kill Balros, i've actually ended 3 times trying different weapon combinations including the snake, nemesis, spur, sword, but still can't manage to beat him even with 55 health and a lifepot.

Do you remember the Outer Wall? There's a hidden doorway about halfway up leading to the Clock Room, it's in there. I'm not sure if you can go back now, though, you might need to start over :/

Erm... No idea, if you've done the necessary things to unlock Hell then the chest should also unlock. I've never had any difficulty with it myself, sorry.

Missiles did most of the work there :P Though Spurring him through the eyes is definitely the best way to do it as a beginner.

I just beat ballos for the first time. just over 10 minutes. and I don't feel like doing it again =D it's MUCH quicker to take out the heavy press with your lvl3 missles than the nemesis (it takes about 3 seconds with missles lol)

I really wish I knew about being able to stand on the 2nd form's head and spur him from there...I was just timing my shots and jumps...

Missiles certainly work too, I just personally prefer the spur or nemesis because if I get hit, my missiles don't downgrade :) You need a full level 3 to pull off the trick with Ballos successfully (this video shows that perfectly, I didn't have full level three so his first hit took me to level 2, then I didn't have enough firepower to destroy him before he hit me again)

There's nothing significant for beating it quickly. Each minute under 7 minutes gets you a different title screen (so a time of 6'00 to 6'59 gets one title screen, 5'00 to 5'59 gets another, etc.)

My best time is 4:29... I fail at getting the Missile Launcher to lvl 3, so I take a nice while to kill Ballos. I can't wait to try it on th Wii ^-^

I can never even come close to matching that speed when it comes to plowing through Hell. This is mainly because I end up playing it safe, even if I start off by trying for a speed run. My best time to date is 8:49.

I like to raid Hell and Ballos with the Spur, much as you did, but I save my Super Missiles for Ballos' very last form. Rather than hop on his eye, I just hop on the platforms and mash the fire key 'till I'm out of missiles. I've yet to be hit.

As I say to everyone else, even being able to get through Hell at all is already a huge accomplishment. All you have to do is keep trying, find places where you are more careful than you need to be, and have a little bit of luck, and your time will come down eventually. Keep at it!

You only need 9 missiles for his last form if you stand on the eye, so I don't mind using them elsewhere- the +24 pack means there's plenty of room to spam them. Though it can go wrong!

Thats an item called the Whimsical Star, which you can only get if you have the Spur. You have to go to the Gaudi in the Labyrinth (I forget his name) with the Spur in hand and talk to him, and he will give it to you. It does a little damage to whatever it hits, can be quite useful sometimes.

Sadly not, but there are places you can download save files with all the equipment just before Hell if you don't fancy starting the game over.

that upper right like you saw in beginning of game go in talk to the mushroom USE THE FOLLOWING, 1st. "YES" 2. and 3. "NO" 4. "YES" then look at it in ur inventory, talk to the mushroom again, kill it, and while leaveing take little man weither you trade or not, ITS FUN :D

head back to plantation stuff it in curly's mouth, (WEAR THE MIMIGA MASK WEN TALKING TO HER WHILE SHE STILL HAS AMNESIA FOR AN AWSOME 3 LINES!) talk until u get the iron bond, then continue, you go to last cave (hidden).

MY BEST ADVICE FOR 1st TIME SACRED GROUND RUNNERS IS RUN IT SLOW THEN TRY FOR BETTER! GETTHESPUR

Heh, that really must suck. I had something close to that today, actually. After killing Ballos's second form, I had a time of around 2'56 (same as you did, oddly enough) then, being the smartass I am, I boosted right into one of his eyes and died. XD I still feel stupid.
