In 21st century, in the civilized world it is considered child rape and punishable by imprisonment. Beating your wife is considered domestic abuse, again in a civilized world. I don't see how you find it acceptable as you claimed yourself a 21st century woman. I understand if it was 7th century but not now.

"Who will rid me of Marwan’s daughter?" he said and one of his follower went out and stabbed her when she was sleeping. What about Abu Afak, who was so old and feeble. How about Kab bin al-Ashraf who wrote a demeaning poem against Mohammed? He is a murderer and set a bad example.

@yusira27 I am so saddened that you do not acknowledge that the Quran, in parts, is dangerous to women as is the Bible. Women should fight against all rules that derogate us to second rate citizens and permit violence against women. Even if it hasn't happened to me I still care about those women who have suffered because of mistreatment being sanctioned by religious texts. See Surah 4 Women No. 43 (husband may) "beat them (women) (lightly)". Disgraceful.

@yusira27 well please accept that I do not understand having belief in wisdom of a god I cannot talk to or hear. I just see life and comment on unfairness I see against women that is all. TY for explaining - I am a believer in monogomy and others may disgree. I believe love between two people is sacred and healthy for children - but that is just my opinion. I would rather a woman stayed single than marry a married man. I am single, a lawyer and support myself - I don't need to be married.

I really don't see a big difference between switching from Christianity to Islam or from Islam to Judaism or from Judaism to Hinduism. Neither one of these religions can validate the existence of God or their definition of God.
