  • if you can afford an s class, i think u can afford the gas for it... plus, lots of starts/stops cant be good for your engine. extra unnecessary stress? lol save a buck on gas, spend it at the mechanic shop.. or in this case, dealership

  • The W124 platform is the best and last good Mercedes model line.

  • audi is better tan mb

  • @pararop that is your subjective opinion.

  • @pararop yes, not that could think of anything though.. looks? perhaps, but engineering? have audi ever been accused for being over engineered?

  • thats the only option for the mercedes i dont like

  • Start-stop function: something else to ensure even less cars get through each green light.

  • @CodeTwo2 Understand what your saying but I think your not informed about the specifics of the start-stop function. It is only on the hybrid S400 and once you press the accelerator you need not wait for the engine to start before the car starts moving. The instant that you press the gas pedal an electric motor propels the car, as that is happening the engine is also restarted.

  • @vanwiek Ok. Quite honestly, I'm not sure whether it's on the "regular" S-Class, but am assuming it will be if not now; it seems to be getting onto many other cars.

It's just another gimmick sop to the whole green thing I think, that will just add to traffic hold-ups. Start-stops that I've experienced so far are not so instantaneous.

  • zara

  • Looks good but they are nothing compared with what they used to be. The build quality is shoddy these days and japanese cars and other makes at a fraction of the cost are more reliable. It was over 20 years ago that Mercedes build quality was over engineered and bullet proof. Now you mugs are just paying for the name because they are no longer decent quality. Its just a few gadgets and the badge. That said, i like the look of it but the price it costs doesn't reflect on the quality anymore

  • @Anglichanen Well said. Only those of us who actually own these cars know what a headache they are. They look great and everyone pays you compliments..but at the end of the day you wish you had a Lexus so as to not keep paying for repairs all the time. The W126 model was the last of the great hand-built MB's.

Would you rather spend a few grand on a trip to Hawaii for a few weeks..or do yet ANOTHER repair on your MB? All the people who own Lexus' will tell MB owners how beautiful Hawaii is..lol.

  • oh come on.. start/stop funktion on a AMG benz...

  • @KeeT4Life thats not AMG. probably the s400 hybrid.

  • GOD I love this car!

  • awesome car

  • that would be extremely annoying having the car turn off every time you stopped. You buy a $100,000 car yet your worried about burning 2 cents of gas sitting at a stop light?

  • @everynameistaken567 it'll probably be a little more than 2 cents and it'll lower emission rates. if it'll help a lot? probably otherwise they wouldn't add the extra weight for the electrics...

  • 0:22 ohh my e class ; )

  • he just saved the planet in those 10seconds at the red light with the engine stopped

  • @iulixxx Yeah, sure, he just "saved the planet" by stopping his engine for 10 seconds... riiiight.

It's not like planet Earth has ever faced anything more cataclasmic than the internal combustion engine, like that corrosive gas called oxygen, or our paltry little atomic bombs which pale in comparison to a single asteroid strike...

When eco-freaks talk about "saving the planet" they reveal both their god-complex and how little they know about planet Earth's history... we are insignificant.

  • @USA4July1776 The little effort we're trying to do still helps, because if we don't make these efforts, it means that we will pullute even more... That would lead to our destruction in the next 25 years instead of the next 50 years :)

  • If someone has got money for S class, it's just because he's not as dumb as you with this kind of thinking, got money - waste it.

  • i dont get it.

  • This car will make me so lazy, wouldn't be able to drive another one again.

  • Ridiculously stupid

  • only the cars

  • i love german cars!!!

  • So do i, I just wish they were reliable and well made thats all...

  • Just wait till all that fancy shit breaks, it'll cost thousands just to do simple repairs!!

  • If you have money for an S class, you have money to fix it.. you buy a car you can afford

  • @NoxNoctisUmbra Mercedes and BMWs are by far some of the nicest cars, but they should stop getting horrible manufacturers to build their high performance parts. Maybe then we wouldn't pay so much to fix it.

  • @NoxNoctisUmbra Bullshit! Just because you have money for an S Class doesn't mean you are an idiot & like to waste your money. I drive an S Class..& while I love the car when it is working..repair costs are ridiculous & too often..there is no denying the reliability is not as good as a Lexus LS. The days when MB cornered the luxury market & you had to put up with bad reliability are over, which is why there sales are down. Today, luxury also means reliability, period. My next car? A Lexus LS.

  • @Nightbird shouldnt drive something you can't afford to.

  • @Kokswijk You need to learn how to read..because you didn't understand my comment. Wasting money is NEVER a smart thing to do. That's how the rich stay rich..they don't waste.

  • @Nightbird Trololo

  • german cars are soooooooooo reliable

  • No they arent!

  • are you kidding me, the only thing more reliable than german and swedish cars is the sun

everyone who has the faintest idea about cars knows that

  • Swedish cars used to be robust but no more reliable than any other. German cars used to be robust but quite badly made, Ive owned, bought and sold loads of German cars and have come to the conclusion that they are vastly overrated in recent times and are far from a good buy

  • @mickeymoose76

GERMAN CARS are the best.Mercedes and Audi rulezzz.swedisch cars are not as good as german cars.

  • @mickeymoose76 I want to believe that.. pls. provide some examples.....

  • @pr9nkaholic My current mercedes (W140) i so full of electircal and trim problems I fear I will never have the time or money to put them right, the car has been well kept and one owner by the way, my 2001 BMW 728i was the most problem ridden car Ive ever owned, 14 separate Electrical faults and countless other trim issues, my wife's VW Vento (bought new) became so rusty and generally unreliable (electrics and trim again) that we had to scrap it when it was only 9years old, which is nothing!!

  • this function is used to reduce pollution. When the car stops, then the enginse also stops, and when u want to accelerate u dont have to put the key. This function is also sed in all new bmw, it doesnt have to be mercedes.

  • A good way of reducing pollution is not to buy a great big six litre barge in the first place!!!

  • No it should not have t hat because Start/stop only saves very little fuel and none on the highway.

They should make cars with less weight and people should accept cars with less power... we dont need to go 0-60 in 5s any more, considering our energy problems, these times are over

  • that 1960's dashboard clock is an Cartier. Why don't like it?

  • just ignore him, he looks know nothing about the cars :)
