Theaks for sharing this wonderful vedio, very inspiring. I wish I can turn my backyard swimming pool into a fish pond like this. But husband would say NO! :-)
Won't swimming in a small pool like this stress out the fish? I really like the idea of a chemical additive free pool (ecological and cheap), but I'm afraid it would have a negative effect on the fish.
@dramey03 Seems like a simple large particulate filter then a simple Berkey water filter and if one is paranoid a couple drops of bleach per liter and good to go in a survival situation or everyday, no problem. I spend two years in Africa living that way. Worked for my wife and me.
i love this guys comments about how you can swim in it, i wonder, how potable is that water thats used in aquaponic systems, i wonder how much filtering it would need to be drinking water
@dramey03 The more appropriate question is how much filtering it would take for YOU to drink it. If fish are LIVING in it more than likely your going to survive :)
i love this kinda stuff !.....but can you live off just that backyards food products and for how long and how many people !?...realistically....thank you for a graet video ....peace
@seahorsecowboys No, you can not live off of your back yard. But that's not the point. The point is to become as self sufficient as possible, and meanwhile taking in as little pesticides and herbicides and other chemicals that taint our food. This is only part of the solution.
But once more and more people see that it can be done on a small scale, the variety of products available will get bigger and bigger, and pretty soon within a small community, you'll be able to obtain everything you need
I love this man. real life
