  • If they made this now, nobody would speak fuckin' English, Van Nuys is a toilet, LA sucks period, every city is either a total third world country shithole, or overpriced bullshit.

  • Looks like American Graffiti - class =Van Nuys Blvd.

  • Relax dude, if California was still mexico where would you fuckers go to to get jobs and welfare ?!! Yeez, the stupidity and lack of grattitude of some people is just unbelievable !!!... If it wasn't for America taking over from you worthless whining beaners over there, the whole place wouldn't even have running water down there by this day !!!

  • Quentin Tarantino should remake this!!!!!!

  • What happened to Van Nuys Blvd? Keyes Keyes Keyes...

  • People having fun, sex, playing arcade games, driving Vans, dancing disco, a nice movie, and hot girls too.

  • i live in van nuys right now belive it or not things look the same just no discos

  • people are so stupid always bringing up mexicans and whites, who gives a fuck!! the white people killed off most native americans, inslaved black people, and steal oil from the middle east, so why you so proud of that? who gives a shit if mexcians live in california, georgraphicaly this is where they were before whites came here!, you people are so stupid, mexcians americans are the most decorated service men in the military, not pink white skined boys from america! educate yourself you honkey!

  • I wish I could have grown up in Southern CA in the 70s.

  • I went there during my 2 week holiday in California USA ... San francisco first and then LA and Van Nuys but holy shit !! It was a dirty ass ghetto when we came there in 2009 !!! Van Nuys isn't the same place since the 70's and 80's ... What happened !????

  • @Borat911

immigrants.... legal ones which were poor and illegal ones who live with several others in residences.

Also public housing developments in the area.

  • back in the days when polyster really meant something

  • Hahahahha, I was only 3 years old. =)

  • Looks like the good old days of southern California. Now its just total shit.

  • "No one calls Chooch a creep man!"

  • Hahaha is that the announcer for all those Disney movies?

  • Now it looks like Mexico. Thanks wetbacks!

  • Six Flags, right off Van Nuys!

  • Absolute shit.

  • Nothing sexer than bitting a cheeseburger from both sides!

  • AWWW The Chooch is my boy yo!! Big ups to the CHOOOOOCCCHHH!!!!

  • @SynesthesiaeFilms "No one messes with the CHOOCH!" Hahaha, best character in the movie.

  • What is the song at the start?

  • I have this movie. Part of my Drive In Cult Classic pack.. The song that plays over and over again, are the words "I wanna get you on a pollywog"?

  • A little yes, but mostly no to what 12345obama says. Yes, what is California today was officially part of Mexico from 1821 to 1846...but it was Mexico in roughly the same sense that the US slice of Antarctica is America. There were less than 2000 Mexicans living there, with more US citizens coming in all the time. The US citizens living there wanted it to be part of the US. Mexico sent a few troops, then gave it up. The US hardly stole it, though Mexicans like to believe this.

  • Jesus christ van nuys back then is full of white people now it's just full of ghetto mexican gang bangers from BVN Lmfao

  • @liljjisback The same could be said of California as whole...

  • don't be a hero!

  • Comment removed

  • Seems to be a lot of White in Van Nuys !

  • @mwillblade Not anymore lol

  • LOL so awesome you have this up!

  • Fuckin great movie!

  • I'm totally feelin' the Chooch on this one

  • I got roller Boogie fever watching this.

  • This is my personal view of Heaven, being young and living in LA during the late 70's and having an awesome muscle car for all eternity! The Chooch rules!!!!!

  • @johnyzero2000 YEAH BROTHER, CALI LOVE! CHOO CHOO!

  • ...Ahhh, back when rape vans were socially accepted!

  • no ma'am...I'm not jivin' you.

  • Good Times!

  • I keep watchin this trailer cos the songs are so good

  • The Chooch HAHAHAHAHA

  • The most beautiful bodies maybe, but the faces are not.

  • Looks like southern California 70s fun ! Definitely a must see.

  • dude, where in the world can I find this gem?>

  • @IXFijiChris - Go to Amazon and type :

    Drive-In Cult Classics

They have most of the cheesy greats in the compilation box sets

    Enjoy !

  • Is there a soundtrack album to this movie??

  • Guess nothing changed...

  • Are you jivin me??

  • They should change the title to "Tijuana blvd" and replace the actors with uneducated peasant Mexicans with at least 4 kids each, who ride the bus , visit laundry mats, meat markets, stores that sell water, cheap fast food, Garage sales, have Birthday parties, and liquor stores.

  • omg the streets....there so cleannn!

  • Damn i spent half my life there but i don't recall a Van Nuys blvd. I remember a few spots in Encino, N.Hollywood, Reseda, Canoga park, & Panorama city being like this circa 87-97! But I left that place for Santa Barbara when i turned 12.

Oh yeah & last I recall a bunch of ppl still had those old 70's cars. Its like a few miles in any direction the cars change like in Grand theft Auto or something.

  • The movie that jump-started me and my cousin into puberty!

  • this is the best!

  • should've been Ventura Blvd.

  • Who's the girl that throws up the handkerchief to start the race???????????shes pretty.........

  • This looks horrible! I HAVE TO SEE IT!!!

  • US vs mexico was easy war. US did payoff mexican government, after the war, but Santana just took the money for himself ( typical mexican leader ).

  • One of the greatest movies ever made.

  • Nobody call "The Chooch" a creep, except for that guy who just did.

  • Wait I'm confused, what is this movie about?

  • I haven't even seen the movie, but it looks to me as if it could be the worst movie of all time. (next to, it came from the grave.)

  • Van Nuys is the Shit MAN!

  • Oh god lol

Van Nuys sucks so much. and not for the reasons these dumbass nationalists love to spout about "TOO MANY MEXICANS! ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION HURR DURR STEALIN UR JOBS!"

In all actuality it has just been ignored by the government and very ill taken care of.

I love the people who live in Van Nuys. I just hate how shitty it's gotten.

Oh well.... GENTRIFICATION SOLVES ALL PROBLEMS EVENTUALLY. WAIT AND SEE.

  • Dude, not when this film was made.

  • I know not back then... people used to consider it paradise. You know... back when our economy wasn't total shit.

  • Agree it is pretty shitty now.

  • Quotes from this winner:

Officer Albert Zass: Why won't you help me?

Biker: Because you're The Man, man.

I looked up the careers of the actors in this movie. Lets say none hit it big and most never made anything else after 1980.

  • Hahaha If this was shot today, it would be in Spanish, and would be starring Mexican actors.

You will not find many English speaking people in Van Nuys these days.

  • the whole state of California was STOLEN from Mexico by American aggression.

it belongs to Mexico, just like Texas.

  • not surprised your user name includes Obama. He was the president when you came into this country. I offer three words: Mexican-American War. Mexico sold us land that Mexico later tried to take back. Mexicans showed America its true nature and the US took CA. If Mexico wasn't such a cesspool, and your gov't not so corrupt, maybe you wouldn't need to steal and cause havoc. And CA was previously owned by Spain before Mexicans included it in their Republic. Native Americans before that.

  • Obama will finish you off, Yankee scum!

  • @kubrickzghost

uhh not true...mexico only sold a parcel of land comprising modern day southern arizona and new mexico called the gadsen purchase.

never sold anything else. american settlers crossed the borders into what is now texas and california and settled there, knowing very well they were in mexican territory. they revolted and became separate republics, essentially their own countries and later joined the u.s.

    just stating the facts....

  • @mmata3992

Uh, yes it is true. You leave out some facts in your statement. Mexicans tried to steal back that land they sold which started the Mex-US War. Mexicans lost CA in that war they started. The US took control of CA through that war treaty. And then they still tried to steal back the land around the turn of the century. Van Nuys Blvd. today just shows what America looks like when they stop fighting and open their borders. It's like importing poverty. It's a Mexican ghetto town. A mess.

  • @12345obama It stolen...big deal! mexico would made this states into crapland. I am proud what President Polk and General Scott did. It was easier war ever...hahaha

  • @12345obama Fine. Take it back ( as you are slowly anyway) and it will be a shit hole like Mexico in no time. Wake up dummy.

  • @12345obama So what !?? Where would mexicans go and find a job anyway ! ???

  • i live in van nuys blvd:D

  • Never heard of this movie. It's like a Bizarro World American Grafitti.

  • It's all about Van Nuys, lived there for 10 yrs

  • Are you jivin' me?

  • It's called Sherman Oaks. (lol)

  • gotta say this again , im sorry:

go watch this movie, its really cool !!!

    good, clean, decent fun !!!

    lets go back.

  • MAN!! it is like it was yesterday...i cant believe its been 30 years....i remember that duece coupe w/the beer keg for a gas tank

  • i actually like the song of this moive i think is cool

  • i still live there lol i love it

  • Yes!!! I have a house on Saticoy and Sepuveda. FUCKEN VALeY!!!

  • Damn right!! I've spent YEARS along Saticoy.

  • I remember when I first saw this movie on late night television when I was thirteen. I got to see it again two years ago on DVD. I loved every minute of that film. It is simply about a couple of people having a good time. 70s movies seem like a lot of fun. One thing I learned from this movie was that the dancers wearing red and blue were cheerleaders of the NBAs Kansas City Kings (a.k.a. The Kanas City Glitter Girls).

Favorite quote from the movie: 'Cuz you're the man, man.'

  • I gotta see this film! I know it's going to be my new all time favorite... well second the "Angel" series of flicks.

    John McQuilkin - Hollywood Happens

    The Unofficial Spokesperson of Hollywood

  • It's uploaded on Youtube.

  • dont be a hero, lmao

  • Oh man this was one of my favorite movies I use to watch on Cleveland's channel 5's Saturday Afternoon Movie.

  • I uploaded it here, if you wanna watch.

  • y'all should see my boogie van!!!

    imma cruise the "balley" tonight!!

  • haha now its just a bunch of beaners livin there lol

  • Si.

  • I know how we can make van nuys blvd beautifil again. Don't laugh because I'm serious. We need to bring back disco music.

Disco unified all of us and it can do so again.

  • I love mexican people. And awsome cars.

  • Oh yeah, I've heard about this movie. It was the inspiration for the truck destruction mini-game in the StreetFighter II arcade games.

  • ? lol HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

  • will you guys stop talking about mexicans please?!

you're making me want a nice big taco!

i have the munchies..haha i saw this fucking movie!

  • Sad those days are gone.

  • all there is now in VNB are jus illegals trahing the place up.and i live there!.

  • The Mexicans have taken over and ruined the place. It is not safe at all. Trash, gangs, I can't believe it. I still work in Van Nuys and have seen the change. It's like TJ Mexico maybe worse. The only bad street was Delano, now all are bad..

  • its now all dirty and shit.

  • Yes, Van Nuys, as most of the Valley has changed over the years. But that is LA. Come back in another 20 or 30 years and it I am sure it will be very different from what is now.

  • wow i like it alot better now

  • oh . . .

    and Disco still SUCKS! :P

  • HA! I lived in Panorama City in 1977, Mexicans & Latinos have ALWAYS cruised Van Nuys blvd. Along with every other race. Low Riders, Hot Rods, Vans, Trucks. But yes, the streets used to be safer, I used to ride my skateboard at the outdoor malls, A Tower Records used to be there and Star Wars would make its mark. I was a 14 year old American/Latino geek who could still remember the Cars, Pup N' Taco and collecting my 1st LP's, Good Times/Bad Times. :)

  • i live in van nuys and nothing like this now its all crive and mexicans what a shame

  • anyone know where i can find a copy of this movie?

  • lol this is so weird I used to live there

  • Van Nuys is just ghetto now LOL

Cops, gang bangers, swap-meets and porn studios all over... LMAO

i like how it is right now tho...

  • i dont know how it was before, but now, it's the worth street in the SF Valley. Too much trash. Starting from Oxnard and towards Roscoe especially...it gets better at Ventura and beyond.

  • I don't get it- VNB was cool when it was filled with white trash hooligans... but it's terrible now that Mexicans live there? What's different about it?

  • Ya and most are ilegals, You will find Chickens and pitbulls in most yards. What a dump.

  • Comment removed

  • @josuefarias52 Your comment was removed. Now what did you say to get rubed off like that?

  • LMFAO Damn I wish van nuys looked like that!!! it has changed a fucking lot, it looks like a trash can...think to all the hispanics there :S

  • LoL!! Van Nuys does not look like that anymore. All you see are my fellow cholos and 5-0

  • this Van Nuys would still be around if Mexican didn't come into town.

  • take a history class, stupid.

  • Isn't van nuys where all the porno is made???

I just remember my boss quoting a line from the first porno he ever saw:

"Hey, you goin' to Van Nuys this summer? Tres Chic. Suck It!"

  • The voice sounds like the voice from the Disney trailers.

  • WWOOOOO !!

look at the video game at 1:18 it looks kinda sick i want to try it

  • i live near there! and yes i am mexican with no papers in van nuys blvd! viva la raza... is this america? where are the gringos? i see only mexicans and salvadoreans and guatemalans and a few blacks but no white peple

  • see but that was van nuys 20 years ago...when white people still lived in van nuys. now the only white people in van nuys are on welfare or ssi

  • c mon van nuys blvd is the worst and depressed place!! doesnt look like that at all

  • This was 30 years ago. It looked just like that.

  • how the fuck do you know?

    do you live there?

i fucking live there its not depressing

    ur fucking stupid

  • yeah, it basically has all the critical components of a great film:

    -a gorilla

    -a roller coaster

    -a diner

    -a strobe light

    -scantily clad ladies

    -bad music

    -no plot

    fucking brilliant.

  • Ah, a gorilla. The classic cheap B-movie monster. Now I HAVE to see this.

  • Ha...awesome. I've never seen this, but an acquaintance of mine was in it. I think she's the "Hiiiiii" girl, but it's hard to tell 27 years later.

  • Awesome!

    Thanks for posting.

  • I cruised Van Nuys Blvd in 1980 and it was nothing that great! I was hoping to see some real American Muscle Cars but what I mostly saw were late model Trans Ams and Z28s. Growing up in Chicago, Archer Avenue and Duke's Drive In blow it away! It seems that the diehard Gear Heads live back east!

  • Since you put this up, there's been a run on copies of the movie locally here in LA. Yesterday, I went away from my fave video store empty handed because somebody beat me to the store's copy. Shame on you!

  • Far-out!

  • van nuys blvd. is a bitchin blvd.

  • sweet

  • van nuys is nothing like that today

  • You can say that again.

  • I live and shop on VN blvd. I can't believe that between the late seventies and mid-eighties, the entire blvd north of Magnolia (in Sherman Oaks) went entirely to non-english speaking, poorest people in the Valley--just like that! I felt pretty good living here at $3.95/gallon gas though!

  • Poorest people in the valley? try pacoima.

and i would say north of oxnard is where it becomes non english.

  • pacoima is even worse and no not north of exnard the whole f ing vally and all of la now what a shame usto be nice not anymore and gets worse by the day

  • The perfect Drive-in Movie!

  • You got that right! This one was totally a popcorn date flick.

  • THIS LOOKS AWESOME!!!!
