Thanks for the info. it looks like excellent reading by a fine musician and writer. Anyone who likes George and the other "mens" as much as I do, shows real appreciation of an art form that several of us are still trying to keep alive. It is a book that I will most definitely purchase and treasure.
Read the book "Song for My Fathers" by Sancton to get a view of a young kid who knew George in the early '60's and learned clarinet from him. It's a great read about the old New Orleans jazz guys who were almost forgotten until Preservation Hall was founded.
Thank you jazzbobill !! My computer has become my stereo. Love all of them. I am going all the way back to Marables Band. Thank you again, over and over again !!!
I am glad to say that George & Bunk still have a huge following around the world with us older folk and I will do my best to try and inspire the younger population to also listen and appreciate this great music Watch out for George on my next New Orleans post.
Thank you very very much for this wonderful collection of traditional jazz from New Orleans. Incredible men to have created this music for us to enjoy so long after they have left us. Thanks again.

More of "the good stuff" reminiscent of my misspent youth in the smoky dives of Soho!! (I don't suppose they are smoky any more -can't be the same!!)
Thanks Bill,
Clive.
