Well, he couldn't stand her. Neither could anybody else. Apparently Sean Young isn't very easy to have around for any director, crew or cast that has ever worked alongside her.
She literally shot her own career down because she was (could still be) prone to questionable antics to land a role. Ask Tim Burton for starters.
The background music used here has never been officially released on disc by Vangelis, like so much other incidental score from his other movies. Hopefully someday with his permission, some film afficianado will put together a compilation album harvesting all those aural treasures we have come to love from listening to his film scores over the years.
Another stunningly beautiful scene from this wondeful movie.
Can Ridley Scott ever reach such heights again ?.............I truly hope so, but I fear the advent of CGI and 3D cameras will be a hindrance rather than a benefit
The most mesmerizing Ridley Scott scene ever- an evocative blending of beautiful cinematography, hypnotic lighting and sensual atmospheric music by Vangelis.
Sean Young had to be 22 when this was filmed if it was filmed in 81 then released in 82, either way shes 22-23-ish in BladeRunner , Sean Young is young in this, (no pun intended) but it is kinda of funny :D
I'm looking for participants to take part in a university study of Blade Runner. Please just visit my profile for more info and for a link to the survey. Thanks!
I love this movie. Sean Young was amazing. They couldn't have cast her better. You can see Sean Young in Signal Lost on my composer reel (on my YouTube channel).
@GZahos Ya. That's why I really like both Ridley Scott's and Kubrick's films. They emphasize things that other directors feel isn't important, such as the expression on one's face (such as in Th Shining), or the careful attention to dialogue.
Yea the movie never is just like the book. I think they are both awesome. I think the book makes the movie better and the movie makes the book better. They both make me think, how do we work?
Always loved this movie, Has that 40ish,asian look it. Lots of ceiling fans ,just like the 40's movies, lots of cigarette smoking, just like the 40's movies. even the way they dress in the movie has a 40ish look.

She is very elegant and graceful. Natural beauty at it's best.
theemceemurdah 2 years ago 11
What are you referring to here when you say "natural beauty"?
What I see is a ton of makeup, hairspray, shoulder pads, etc, hiding her natural appearance, all as the director intended - it is symbolism.

She's also trying to say that the Tyrell corperation might have him retire opponents of the company, least I think.
