hahaa, u fking retards, its going to fit in there, you only need to change heatsinks to a lower one, or just simply cut them down a little bit, and add a smaller fan instead of the stock fan, and a dvd reader is pointless in a modded xbox, 'cuz you have all your games on the hdd. i have dobe this to my crystal xbox and it works just fine :)

once you softmod your xbox dvd drives are basically useless anyway, next generation consoles will likely not have disk drives and everything will be played from a hdd

Anyone who says this is stupid and pointless has obviously never seen a modded Xbox before. So there isn't a DVD Drive...that's cool, 'cause I think the nice and slim 200GB HDD in my Xbox will play all my games just fine. You don't need the DVD Drive at all, it's useless for most modded Xbox owners, as we prefer faster load times and easy accessibility anyway.

I had a similar problem, I cut down the fan a bit on the top and got it to fit though it made the top case vibrate and made the fan louder. I would recommend getting a custom fan

Use a program called DVD2XBOX. Download it and ftp it to the hard drive or check to see if you already have it. Then you just use it to rip the games onto the drive.

Oh, for your information if you didn't know. There is no use for the DVD drive if you got it modded, you can simply put a 250gb hdd in it and play all the games directly from the hard drive. Because the DVD drive is so big, people prefer to remove it.

Hes probably gonna do what I did and not even use a DVD drive. I just copy all of my games to my HDD through FTP. My HDD is a 2.5" 160gb laptop drive so it fits easily where the DVD drive did.

yea but you need to have the original disk and drive hooked up to the xbox to back up the disks to the hard drive anyways, yes? unless you use a hard to come by reader that allows xbox files to be recognizable by a pc. If anyone finds such a program please let me know.

that is not true, all you need is to hook the xbox to your modem and transfer the isos from your pc to the xbox hard drive via FTP, is how i did it, you dont need an original dvd at all.

all you need is to do a softmod to your xbox, no special programs to make xbox files be read by your pc.
