say, do you have any small beefy t's? if yes would you do me a favor and measure the width of the sleeve opening in inches? all i could find on the internet is sleeve length and not the width :/
@JSquaredDesigns... thank you for the quick reply, it seems all t shirts have such wide sleeves, im very skinny and fit the body of a small shirt nicely but the sleeves are always so big it looks like im wearing water wings, i just cant seem to find a brand that sells blank shirts in a bunch of colors that fits me properly...
iv tried 4 different gildan models now, all i can say is they are a complete load of shite!! they go stiff and crusty after washing, and dont get me started on the softstyle, after one 30 degree wash it was half the size and looked like the sleeves had been stitched on by a blind heroin addict.
The Hanes appeared to have had a more "bacon-y" collar after the wash. I prefer Gilden solely because of the slightly thinner collar. And they fit slimmer without bagging out.
The GSX-R shirt was super clean. If you sold that I'd buy it for surely.
I have made about 250 white Gildan shirts using softstrech and have had pretty good luck with durability. recently I have perfected a method of using JetPro on light colored shirts without leaving any background. (I stopped repressing the transfer to flatten it out.)
Most of my shirts are Gildan in dark colors using Inkflex Dark. I started using Gildans for their extended range of colors (70+). So far the transfer starts to fade (50+ washes in hot) long before the shirt starts to fail.
@abunjahal Not a bad idea - however I think the limitations of YouTube and the way they compress my HD vids would have made it very tough to see. On the raw HD footage the detail is crisper than the YouTube vid. Maybe I will do duplicate shirts if I ever do another Tshirt vid
@gorich92 Sorry - I don't have any tips for you. I pretty purchase only standard size shirts. Probably a T with a little bit of spandex or poly in it though will be what most "Slim Fit" shirts are made of blended with cotton
@SevenOneKicks Think you will be pleased - the new Hanes I have received after this vid shot are a little stretchier with softer feel yet retain heavier grade cotton than the Gildan. Either shirt make good base for Ts but the Hanes gets the edge especially with the new softer version I have been getting the past couple of months.
@xotheusedguyox Forgot to add: I actually picked up a couple of Gildan 50/50 cotton poly blend shirts that feel the softest of all with a bit more "stretch" - ALSO, the latest couple of batches of Hanes Beefy Ts have been more "stretchable" and almost feel like they have a bit of poly in them. This is a good thing as the Hanes in the vid above lacked the stretch. The stretchy Hanes I have recently gotten are still labeled as 100% Cotton - more comfortable to wear with a little stretch
@xotheusedguyox I thought that ringspun means that the tube of the shirt is spun in 1 big loop and the arms and neck are added later. If so Gildan are ringspun :)
@MonkBlak Glad this was helpful. Initially I just preferred the Hanes T due to familiarity with the name. I do like the Gildan and it really is a bit more comfortable "out of the box" but for durability the Hanes is just tougher all around - both are great tshirt blanks and it probably comes down to preference.

it would be nice if both shirts had same printing on them, so we can actually spot the differences.

good video, but from what i read the hanes is ring-spun cotton and the gildan is not so i thought that the hanes should feel softer
xotheusedguyox 7 months ago
@xotheusedguyox Well the reality is the Gildan is softer - the Hanes wears well though after many many washes
