After it is raised up to that height, the water now has 1000J of gravitational potential energy. After it has reached the bottom of the mountain, the water would have 1000J of pure kinetic energy.

I had to solder the circuit board, program a spark map, a fuel map, develop a new ignition system for the car, and make it all work with a turbocharger. It took me 3 years of research to do it. In the meantime I did absolutely nothing but read. And when it came time to build it, I spent about 5 months building a stand alone fuel mangement system. It definetely took 99% research and 1% labor. Although not everything is this way :)
And I have a friend who spends 99.9999% of his time fixing cars. He works on them 8 hours a day everyday, that is his life. He has never read a book, or checked a manual. He can assemble parts amazingly well, but if you ask him to rebuild the engine, or make it faster, he can't. He has never rebuilt an entire engine. He has never studied engine designs, or combustion fundementals. Now, to me, it seems like a waste of all that effort. If you spend all that time and don't master the principals! ?

@morbideddie Yea, thats basically what I said, Input will always equal output but with something like a bike wheel (a lot of friction) most of your input is going into making heat (from the friction) and very little goes to actually making the wheel move, in other words, this is using a technique that makes the friction portion of the Input to Output conversion effect less on the movement output
so, if you made something that uses magnetism, gravity, rain, (i'll explain rain shortly) and put them into a ferris wheel like shape, and timed it perfectly, that when it began to stop, or had already stopped, the water would restart it, or speed it up depending on the time between rainfall, it may not last for an indefinite time, but a much longer time than normal magnet rotators, without a living thing having to interact with it due to the rain.

wow, funny thing is, i made one of these back in 5th grade before the magnet motor crazed started. I encountered the same problem that these guys did. It spun for a bit then stopped. Still, it spun long enough to power an led for a second. Then my classmates proceeded to destroy the Styrofoam base... What did I learn? Never present your science projects at show and tell. Still, its amusing that this craze happened after thought of my motor. Looking back on this makes me want to remake it!
This video is not a total failure. While it'll never produce free (or infinite) energy, what it does show is an alternative "grease-less" lubricant. Keep dreaming though everyone and it may pay off like it did for Tesla or Edison.

Looking at other posts I think there is one experiment all PMM builders should do (and probably everyone else too).
Get hold of, or make a small hand held generator like a bike dynamo but something you turn by hand.
When there is nothing connected to the output wires it is really easy to turn and it spins with little effort .
When you connect a car head light to it, ie you require it to produce energy, suddenly it gets real hard to turn and when you let go it stops spinning immediately.

Funny thing is, it would spin longer if the magnets weren't there at all. @banga49 No. They would repel slight more than they would push. In the end, there would be a necessary loss of energy and the device would stop. This is not like when people said flying machines are impossible. Those were mostly laypeople saying that to the Wright brothers, not learned engineers and scientists.
Overunity is impossible. EVERYTHING (not just a few things) known by humanity about how the universe works would have to be completely wrong for such a machine to work.

Its AMAZING the amout of people on youtube building these machines, and the time they've put into cutting, molding, welding, mill work, lathe work etc. to try something that is not possible. To profit from the force emitted from the positive end of a magnet, don't they know that there is a negative force also that "negates" this power?

You'd come up with lots of blueprints which would never be tested and eventually lost. You need to test to get data for your research, and failures are what produce that data.

@Grandy12 I am an inventor myself. I'm 28, I've never seen anyone my age build anything that I have. I've been working on machines since I was 10 years old. I am lazy as hell when it comes to building, but if you want me to build something, I can, and I have. I spend 99% of my time learning. Now, if I want to build something, I know how to do it, it's simple. I don't need to built 77 prototypes to see it fail. I'm not trying to brag, because I hate trying to brag in comments, just saying :)

@Grandy12 I had to build a stand alone computer system for my car. I had to solder the circuit board, program a spark map, a fuel map, develop a new ignition system for the car, and make it all work with a turbocharger. It took me 3 years of research to do it. In the meantime I did absolutely nothing but read. And when it came time to build it, I spent about 5 months building a stand alone fuel mangement system. It definetely took 99% research and 1% labor. Although not everything is this way :)

And I have a friend who spends 99.9999% of his time fixing cars. He works on them 8 hours a day everyday, that is his life. He has never read a book, or checked a manual. He can assemble parts amazingly well, but if you ask him to rebuild the engine, or make it faster, he can't. He has never rebuilt an entire engine. He has never studied engine designs, or combustion fundementals. Now, to me, it seems like a waste of all that effort. If you spend all that time and don't master the principals! ?

@JlkJlk18000 lol, don't baffle me to much. get to university and then you'll learn that believing in something doesn't make it work. the reason a bike wheel doesn't last as long is because it is less efficient, the input still equals the output. its just a more efficient device that uses it's less frivolously on friction and sound hence making it spin longer

@morbideddie Yea, thats basically what I said, Input will always equal output but with something like a bike wheel (a lot of friction) most of your input is going into making heat (from the friction) and very little goes to actually making the wheel move, in other words, this is using a technique that makes the friction portion of the Input to Output conversion effect less on the movement output

so, if you made something that uses magnetism, gravity, rain, (i'll explain rain shortly) and put them into a ferris wheel like shape, and timed it perfectly, that when it began to stop, or had already stopped, the water would restart it, or speed it up depending on the time between rainfall, it may not last for an indefinite time, but a much longer time than normal magnet rotators, without a living thing having to interact with it due to the rain.

(I'm sorry) Actually, no one is trying to "get energy from nothing", the real key is that energy is already present in everything (including the vacuum of space) that is available for use ... it you discover how to do it. THAT is what many of these "new" magnet motor concepts are intended to do, use energy that exists, but that is not commercially exploitable by energy companies as they cureently operate.

wow, funny thing is, i made one of these back in 5th grade before the magnet motor crazed started. I encountered the same problem that these guys did. It spun for a bit then stopped. Still, it spun long enough to power an led for a second. Then my classmates proceeded to destroy the Styrofoam base... What did I learn? Never present your science projects at show and tell. Still, its amusing that this craze happened after thought of my motor. Looking back on this makes me want to remake it!

This video is not a total failure. While it'll never produce free (or infinite) energy, what it does show is an alternative "grease-less" lubricant. Keep dreaming though everyone and it may pay off like it did for Tesla or Edison.

Looking at other posts I think there is one experiment all PMM builders should do (and probably everyone else too).
Get hold of, or make a small hand held generator like a bike dynamo but something you turn by hand.
When there is nothing connected to the output wires it is really easy to turn and it spins with little effort .
When you connect a car head light to it, ie you require it to produce energy, suddenly it gets real hard to turn and when you let go it stops spinning immediately.

Objects always move to the lowest energy state available. Thats why things fall to the ground and magnets repel like poles or attract unlike poles. They are moving into a lower energy state.
The fact that the rotor has rotational symmetries (or just that it has a circular path at all) means it will not want to turn forever. This is because successive equivalent positions have the same energy.
Full magnetic analysis would show the details and be complex but the result above is inevitable.
