Widescreen test Easycap CoD4

hi i have an easycao dc60+ and ive set my display to widescreen but it doesnt record in widescreen.Can u help ?

@iMaRcHD I went to go PM you, but your account got deleted. Either way, i'll try to help clear this up. Sorry it took two months, I rarely go on this account.

Make sure your xbox is in widescreen (if you're using a normal tv it'll look wierd, but the video you capture will look normal.

Set your recording resolution to...I believe it's 720x480 (it's been a couple years), and it should record. I think i did Mpeg two for this one. I have some directions in the "more info" menu if you need it.

if u hav an hd tv or a tv with hd inputs just turn yur switch on yur compostie cord for xbox to standtard tv mode. Leave yur Hd plugs in. (Green and Blue) then just plug in the red white and yellow to easy cap

Just tried that and it works. You lose sound though. Okay, if you don't mind not hearing the sounds.

you can hear sound. Leave eiather the red or white in the tv and the other in the easycap

Oh i see. So you keep either the left audio or the right audio in the tv. Does this not ruin the sound a little?

Take off PAL 60 and put NTSC, I THINK that should fix it..

for the easycaps make sure you live in america/places that use NTSC. Some of the easycaps don't work in PAL 60/50, which in some games it either displays in B&W or it won't work.

As to quality, it took a lot of time messing with the settings. The best thing i can say is to try and mimic the output from the TV and make sure the "quality sliders" are set all the way to quality. If you have trouble with that, look around youtube there are some good ones...

I checked a W@W test you put up and it seemed fine. If you want widescreen, set your xbox display to widescreen, and then capture video at 720x480.

easy caps seem better than the dazzle

really? the good thing about dazzle is that it is compatible with just about anything. Easycap is really limited it. But the quality depends (I think) just on what data is going through, or the program that captures it. You get the best quality by getting the settings as close to the TV's as possible. As to getting sound to work, where you choose your device, under the settings (somewhere) Its like Composite Video, NTSC, then underneath it has audio settings. choose the USB interface or w/e.

ya idk ive been looking at the easy cap cod4 test's and the dazzle cod4 test's,

im probably getting the easycap, and i wouldnt know waht to do with the settings

you need an easycap plus / 60 plus or somthing like that , you probaly have the 50 one and you can only record in pal 50
