  • When Judy was in good voice, she was perfect, flawless and genius.

  • I have chills right now. God. What a talent.

  • @JocelynPadilla25 You should search for some videos of her singing as a teenager in her early MGM years. Or go buy a CD of her early Decca songs. You think her voice was great in this? It was stunning in her teenage years.

  • @JocelynPadilla25 Here, look these up on YT:

    The Balboa (Pigskin Parade, 1936)

    It's Love I'm After (Pigskin Parade, 1936)

    and

Waltz with a Swing / Americana (Every Sunday, 1936)

There's another movie song she did called Down on Melody Farm, but there's no good video of it here. If you can buy it on CD, do it. It will blow you away.

  • LOL at her dancing though, she reminds me of Summer Heights High's Mr G.

  • Judy sounds like a TRUMPET here!!

  • I had a discussion with Sid Luft when he was in the process of colorizing these great videos in the late 1980's. He felt colorization would increase the marketability and sales of these videos. I didn't know what to think at the time--now, 20 years later, it seems to have been a mistake. My guess is that the original tapes exist somewhere--perhaps Lorna has them now.

  • Gotta love the grandma slacks and slippers

  • The complete entertainer!

  • I love the woman at 1:54 who screams when she finishes her number! Judy always gives the best performances. She died too soon I was just over a yr old and never got the chance to have the "Garland experience".. Thank God she did these TV shows for CBS! A great lady indeed!

  • I know i should be shot, but is this really Garland? Something is odd.

  • @gloss26 Yes, it is really her. Is it because the color and tone is a little off? That's because this comes from a weird colorization of the concert (this is from the Judy Dean and Frank TV special) - whoever colorized it should be shot. A great video in its own right, but the colorization gives everything a weird sickly green and the contrast is really screwed up.

  • Amazing! What is this called? I want to buy it.

  • @UnknownBroadwayBaby - this number is at the end of the Judy Frank and Dean - Once In A Lifetime - available everywhere on DVD.

  • Unbelievably great on so many levels!

  • This was great. From where does this clip come?

  • From the special with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin in 1962.

It was originally in black and white, but Sid Luft (the producer and judy's husband at that time) had it colorized to the 80's VHS release...

  • Judy had the greatest training, Vaudville, MGM, Roger EDENS, the best song writers. She worked 45 out of 47 yrs. Her Name speaks Volumes today as it did when she was alive. No other Artist can come close to GARLAND! AGAIN she is PEERLESS! Listen to the woman scream at the end of this song! Now THAT!!!! is a sing

  • I feel like crying every time i hear her. The Great Artistes from that era are dying off slowly but surely. Very sad indeed.

  • haha the video buffered right before her high note.... Youtube cant take the power of judy garland!!! Xx

  • thiis Comment Made My Day!!...Love iiT!!

  • simply the best!

  • Judy was pure magic and I wish that I could have seen her in concert . What a GREAT voice!!!

  • Love her more than oxygen!

  • ohhh! how I loves ya Judy! Will never get enough!

  • Saw Liza live and the Chairman of the Board live twice and went to see Judy in NYC at the old Felt Forum in mid '60sand she cancelled. A great disappointment to have missed her.

She, Sinatra and Ella were of a kind they just don't make anymore.

P.S. Saw Jimmy Stewart and Helen Hayes in "Harvey" on Broadway, too. Felt honored to have been there.

  • A Star is Born was on yesterday on TCM. I watched from beginning to end! It was the best movie I've ever seen!!!

  • She left it all on the stage.

    THAT"S why people adored her.

  • i freakin love her!!!

  • Judy Garland was good at driving fans insane and wild.

    like me,.. for ex.

  • Listen to someone in the audience scream with delight at 1:54. Judy really could drive an audience WILD!

  • For christs sake you people needs to get a life. You really had to give 6 negative comments? Does that make you feel good? And the removing it? When I am just stating my opinion"? I guess this world really is a shitty as it seems. People suck.

  • My dad was at her legendary Carnegie Hall Concert! His dad got him tickets right before he passed away. He said he was way up top...but Judy's pure outstanding talent made the whole audience jump to there feet even nefore she came onto the stage. He said it was the most magical night of his life. I love my dad and I love judy for giving him suxh pleasurable memories for the rest of his life.

  • I have memories of my two aunts experiences at Carnegie Hall to see Judy. What a night! WOW!

  • Sublime!

  • Magnificent voice - goes right through you!

  • Incredibly dazzling!!

  • I'm a 12 year old boy, completely straight (lol), and I'm in love with this music. I love new music and old music. Judy Garland is just simply amazing.

  • Oh please. It just shows that he is more comfortable with his masculinity. Enjoying show tunes and being gay has no related connection. It's just a stereotype that you seem to be enforcing with your comment.

  • I'd appreciate you keep your long novel comments to yourself. Nobody gives a damn. Honestly, were here to listen to music, not write our hearts out in our lonely rooms ( you ) . And if you thought I was turning him off think again, I was reinforcing being comfortable with yourself . None the less, dont leave long comments like this one . Its tiring.

  • @HxSxMfanatic014 That's because you get it, music. It's a gift. ;O)

  • @HxSxMfanatic014 I been a Judy Garland fan ever since I was a kid back in the mid 70's before I knew I was gay. I'm a str8 acting 42yr old now & it wasnt until later when I was in my teens that I realized she had a large gay following. It's nice to see there are str8 males who love her just as much as anyone else. It shows you have great taste in music. If you can get her entire weekly series on dvd you will be amazed! Amazon.com has alot of her work on dvd. Happy Listening! Good luck :)

  • @HxSxMfanatic014 Oh my gosh same here! except I'm 13.

  • @HxSxMfanatic014 a straight boy who loves Judy!! omg 2 words....MARRY ME?? :D

  • @NicoleLeighKarbowski But he's 12 and you're 109, according to your profile page. If you were 89, it might be okay, but 97 years is just too great an age difference :-).

  • @ChicagoSouthDan yea but i have the body of a teenager, I'm immortal. I drank from fountain of youth, just like in Tuck Everlasting. :) i know its crazy...

  • @HxSxMfanatic014 I know how you feel, as I love Judy Garland too. You had such energy and was a beautiful person.

  • @HxSxMfanatic014 You're comment makes me smile. I hope that you still enjoy Judy as well as many of the other performing greats :)

  • I love this song so much and I love how she sings it!

  • the single best performer that has ever lived.

  • When she hits that big note, shit man!

I with I could do that!!!

... "keep dreaming on" hehe lol

  • And this folks, was Miss Judy Garland at her absolute peak. Post Carnegie hall, pre-CBS TV series. Perfect weight, voice sublime. But then, as usual, she allowed herself (please note: allowed herself) to be led down the garden path by users and sycophants who promised her everything and left her with nothing. Maybe some part of her needed to be victimized--it was easier than taking responsibilty herself. Genius is rough for those who have it, and rough for those who have to deal with it.

  • Your last statement that genius is rough for those who have it, and rough for those who have to deal with it. I know and to tell you the truth sometime I wish I didn't have it. there isn't anything you can do about it so you just go on with it, There are days when it is so difficult. It makes me very sad that she couldn't get the help that I have. Otherwise I think i wouldn't have lasted this long. Forgive my personal pity party. This lady truly was genius personified in her work.

  • LOVE IT!!

  • Such a cute song from the best entainer ever<3

  • i love 1.45!! absolutly amazing performance!!

  • I love you, Judy Garland!

She looked like a mester piece! Gorgeous!

OMG I wish I couls sing like that!

  • 1:53

Was she sreaming in the microphone?

Judy Garland rocks my wourld! Shes da BOOM!

To me, she will always be alive!

  • Judy is NOT screaming at 1:53. It's the voice of a woman in the audience.

  • I would had screamed too, if I were at a

Judy Garland concert. But sadly I was born 1992 and she was already died, such a pity!

  • I love what she did end of the song

  • Judy - forget about it. Amazing! Thank you for posting this. Love live the hearts and souls of artists and songs of yesterday that gave so much of themselves.
