  • There is a difference between sampling and rippin'. Daft punk straight ripped this song.

  • Ok I can understand everyone saying sampling isn't as simple as copy and paste. All my favourite music involves sampling. I'm also a massive fan of Daft Punk. But this is a ridiculously blatant sample, and very little was actually added to it... anyone who disagrees with this is probably just defending Daft Punk because they are fans, not because they have actually made an independent, unbiased opinion.

  • uncle bird you a fool for this one!

  • skrillex sampled my friend's song, "Just Breathe." He called it Summit. Artists need to give proper credit before they sample.

  • Daft Punk fans bitch about Kanye sampling them yet Daft Punk sampled this song.

  • @ralynnandme1 Because Daft Punk actually got Edwin's song and made a new one from it. And didn't even attribute themselves for its creation. And their money didn't come from the song, but from the album. Also, they made something creative with it instead of slowing it down and rapping over it.

  • HE STOLE FROM DAFT PUNK!!!!!

  • @MrSir2552 You sir, are fucking stupid.

  • @xJerrehh @analect303 @viruse388 I think I'm hearing an echo coming along.

  • @MrSir2552 You sir, are fucking stupid.

  • @MrSir2552 You sir, are fucking stupid.

  • @MrSir2552 trolling at it's finest

  • @spirt2009 STOP TROLLING FOR UNICORNS! aka STFU

  • @MrSir2552 You sir, are fucking stupid.

  • @MrSir2552 You sir, are fucking stupid. Not really. Lol. I just felt the need to keep that going. No disrespect. :)

  • @Zenthral ya, i just said that he has the exact tune from Daft Punk and then the trolls came.

  • I ask 'cause I'm not sure

Do anybody make real shit anymore?

  • Lol, how did daft punk find this?

  • Can everyone just shut up about Daft Punk and Kanye and sampling? Just groove on that bass line! I mean... DAMN. THAT BASS. It's like the bass outlines some curvy, sexy beauty into my brain

  • Surprised that this song is actually better than the Daft Punk song that samples it

  • fucking hell, i thought that aww fuck it. daft punk i am disappoint

  • its funny how the lyrics kanye sang is about people not making legit music anymore, yet people are saying his song is not legit

  • In the lyrics at 0:43 it describes what is going on today. "you can get it" "I don't get none" "cus you've been fooling me"

  • i know sampling is okay but i just have to say...DAFT PUNK'S VERSION IS THE BEST <3

  • okay noone stole shit from kanye he was the newest person to sample it before tht it was daft punk but to start it was this one

  • Not good at all. Stole it from Kanye

  • @kendrikMN ...

I dont want to live on this planet anymore...

You are either a troll, idiot, or someone trying to stir up some controversy...

  • @kendrikMN please tell me you are joking o_O

  • @kendrikMN No, just no.

  • people are so...ugh

  • Does anybody know if the hangover pill cures everything.... or do we need separate pills for the shame, guilt and STDs?

  • Doods, listen to me, Daft Punk ARE DJS!!! What do DJ's do? They play other ppl's songs. EVERYONE'S AWESOME, GET OVER IT!!! EVERYONE WINS!!!! THEY ARE NOT COMPETING AGAINST EACHOTHER!!!

  • @AutoTerminator Wow. Just... Wow. Daft Punk are producers. They do organized live shows. They never touch turntables or CDJs. Maybe you should do your HOMEWORK, and you'd come to a DISCOVERY that they are HUMAN AFTER ALL.

Also - not sure if troll or just stupid.

  • @kagenooni Hahaha, actually, THEY ARE DJs, they used to go to clubs and DJ. don't believe me, look at all the pictures of them DJing in clubs. LOL UR the one who needs to do ur Homework. They are producers AND DJs, and they're going to do whatever they want, and everything they make, original OR sampled, is amazing.

  • @AutoTerminator USED TO. As in, over 8+ years ago. They became a live act after Discovery was released. They have not touched decks in years. If you don't understand the difference between a Live PA and a DJ, then you really need to start learning more about the scene. Actually, what they do isn't even a Live PA, its a pre-programmed set. They cant really do it any other way to have it synced up with the lights and video though.

  • @kagenooni I know the show is pre-programmed, they said that themselves. And actually, they HAVE DJed at parties after Discovery. And it doesn't matter if they have'nt done something or haven't touched something in years, they still know how to use the stuff. Why are we even arguing? we both love Daft Punk right? WTF We're on the same side, and it's not nice to call people stupid.

  • @kagenooni THE POINT I WAS TRYING TO MAKE IS Daft Punk openly uses other ppl's songs. They said so themselves, "We're not making MUCH original stuff." Therefore, they are above reproach from this whole "DUR DUR THEY STOLE THAT MUSIC DUR" thing. They credit the original artists, and beleive it or not, everyone, sampling/using other ppl's music IS legal.

  • i see there is alot of debate about kanye and daft punk here.

daft punk DID take samples from this song.

kanye did in fact NOT sample from this song at all. he used the melodies that daft punk made up.

the vocal lines written by daft punk were the only thing he sampled.

this coming from someone who does not like kanye in the least. i just like ignorance even less.

  • His composition is amazing.

  • he...he's really cute. like seriously.

    thats an attractive man.

    smiles are attractive.

    just sayin'.

  • SO MUCH BETTER WITHOUT DAFT PUNK

  • @Megatrousers I'm not even going to grace this statement with a comeback.

  • @AutoTerminator

I guess I just don't understand why it's cool when Daft Punk does it but ripping off when Kanye does it.

  • @Megatrousers kanye is a rapper, edwin birdsong is a composer. blame kanye;s success on his producers.

  • @psychodeliacomplex

Kanye's his own producer. He got famous by making beats for rappers like Jay-Z. The only reason he's successful is himself.

  • @Megatrousers Well, you see, the majority of electronica/Daft Punk fans HATE hip-hop.

I personally don't like hip hop but it was not a rip-off when Kanye sampled them, because Daft Punk gave him permisson, and they said themselves that they like hip-hop, so I can't really argue. but most of the fans hate hip-hop, and that's why some ppl call it a rip-off.

  • @AutoTerminator That's funny that Daft Punk fans would hate hip hop. Without Hip Hop, and the sampling influence there, there would probably be no Daft Punk.

  • @thoomolong Well, that's the fans. Daft Punk themselves said they like hip-hop.

  • Daft punk can say THANK YOU

  • @zgeninaway they did.

  • in the history of creativity, we have all BORROWED. edisson didn't invent the light bulb, henry ford didn't invent the auto, or the assembly line. people need to understand we ARE a sample culture.

  • Malaga Vice brought me here!

  • Daft punk and Edwin birdsong = Gods

  • Can you all stop hating and flaming? Just listen to the music that you like, and let other people listen to what they want. Be happy that a new generation might stumble upon this or Daft Punk. Any good melody or song or beat will be sampled BECAUSE its good. Its the same discussion everywhere (Barbra Streisand anyone?)

  • There's a difference between SAMPLING and RIPPING OFF. Daft Punk did not SAMPLE this. Do the math.

  • @LukeRossTheBoss It's not ripped off if it's credited. The song shows "Edwin Birdsong" as original composer.

  • daft punk sampling him=grammy kanye sampling them=grammy edwin birdsong making this song =nothing

  • Comment removed

  • @whatthehellvideos Poor edwin..

  • Hey, just enjoy the music.

  • i don't think the Daft Punk's was born when this song was recording

  • The difference between Kanye's samples and DP's sample's is that Daft Punk actually was creative with them. Kanye just took the vocals from HBFS and rapped over them. I like The College Dropout and select songs from other Kanye West albums, but what he did was not cool.

Either way, I do really like this song.

  • @AltPunkMetal lol if you hear carefully Kanye did more with his sample then Daft Punk

  • @libertines24 Kanye just took the vocals, changed their pitch, and rapped over them.

  • @AltPunkMetal yeah all daft punk did was sing over this beat. At least Kanye added drums and a hook.

  • @libertines24 DP didn't use it for the entire song, and it's also less recognizable in DP.

  • @AltPunkMetal lol if you ignore it. i hear it right a way. I honestly feel Kanye made a better beat with stronger, but to each their own. Kanye is the more respectable artist and have made better albums and has sold more albums and has more grammys

  • @libertines24 After doing a Google search on Daft Punk, this song came up. At first I was like, is this the loop in HBFS? Then I listened to DP and this, and decided it was. With Kanye, I was like THIS IS FUCKING HARDER BETTER FASTER STRONGER right away. I think that sampling should be an "is this" for average listeners, not a "this is".

  • @libertines24 And also, don't play the numbers game. The fact that Kanye has sold more albums and won more awards than Kanye, doesn't make him better. Daft Punk are much more respectable to me, because they don't kiss their asses all the time. And plus, they're just flat out better, IMO. But then again, I kind of have a special place in my heart for Daft Punk, because they introduced me to electronic music, which I now love.

  • @AltPunkMetal okay, but we both agree Kanye has sold more records, has better reviews from most magazines and critics, and has won more awards. I can understand liking someone's music better but Kanye is a more important artist from modern times

  • @libertines24 DP has gotten pretty good reviews as well. Both Discovery and Homework were rated 5 stars by All Music, Discovery was ranked the 3rd best album of the 2000's by Pitchfork Media (and P4K also awarded Alive 2007 an 8.5/10). Human After All didn't do as well with critics, but Tron: Legacy was well received. DP was essential in bringing interest to electronic music. Kanye was noteworthy for standing out among mainstream rap, but if he didn't, he wouldn't have gotten as much acclaim.

  • @AltPunkMetal Yeah keep talking that bull shit. lol Kanye has made nothing but classic albums. 808 is by far his worst reviewed album and yet it did more for modern music than Daft Punk.

  • @libertines24 Oh god. Quit sucking on Kanye's dick. TCD is great, but every album after that is average and pretentious. Except for 808, which is flat out crap.

  • @AltPunkMetal ahahaha LR pretentious? Yeah I guess 808 and MBDTF are pretentious because he is singing about things that matter to him. I guess you want him to be fake and make the same album over and over again instead of growing as an artist. I see now why you like DP sure they are nose diving but hey at least they don't change, and btw MBDTF is one of the best reviewed albums of the last twenty years

  • @libertines24 I respect that he's growing as an artist, but a lot of his stuff does seem very pretentious. BDTF is actually above average, but that doesn't make it not grossly overrated.

  • @AltPunkMetal i agree with this gentlemen. anyone who puts out Lil Wayne deserves a full clip unloaded into their worthless body.

  • @jimineedles Are you talking about me or libertines24.

  • @AltPunkMetal fucking libertines24 breh, nawt you

  • @libertines24 And DP haven't done the same thing for 15 years. They experimented with synthpop on Discovery, rock music on HAA, and most of Trom: Legacy doesn't even sound like anything that DP have done before. Listen to all 4 of their studio albums, and you'll see they don't do the same thing each time.

  • The difference is that Daft Punk rips off awesome obscure shit nobody's ever heard of, and Kanye rips off what he hears on the radio.

  • If it wasn't because ofdaft punk, nobody was seeing this video right now...

  • @luispereirafontao If it wasnt for Kanye no one would hear a lot of songs. Im sorry but this song was popular when it first came out. You are just a kanye hater

  • Daft punk is soooooo much better

  • I looove Salsoul

  • @darylrimmer Stop winking at me faggot.

And you were OBVIOUSLY implying Kanye didn't admit he sampled them.

  • This is niiiceeee

  • @darylrimmer And Kanye put them in the credits for his album. He NEVER said that he didn't sample them.

And to sample them he needed their permission which they obviously granted him.

    Stop sucking dick.

  • DAFT FUNTAZTIK

  • @darylrimmer

exactly. it's not like they pretend having invented the samples... they borrow and pay tribute to wonderful disco, soul and funk music.

  • And yet daft punk fans throw a fit over Kanye?

  • @StretchDouche I don't know any real Daft Punk fans who'd throw a fit over Kanye sampling their song. All that did was revitalise interest in them.

  • @maplesyrupgl

I see alot. It's usually the weeaboo crowd.

  • Kanye : Yo dawg I heard you like samples so I put a sample of your sample so you can hear a sample of a sample.

    Don't be upset.

  • @Nagalfar4 u mean xzibit...

  • @ExO09ReBoRn Wasn't the Daft Punk sample made by Kanye ?

That's why I used him in the first place o:

  • And everyone rips Kanye for sampling daft punk vocals. Fucking hypocrites. Go fuck yourselves.

  • @oneshotcannon The difference is that when Daft Punk samples something they actually make something that doesn't make your ears bleed.

  • @IHaveDimensia Little psycho, no one cares about your bleeding ears, so don't Daft Punkthey worked with Kanye, and appeared in his video.

Great sample anyway, awesome work Daft Punk.

  • @oneshotcannon yeah but kanye west sucks, sucks at sampling and is a mediocre rapper, at best

  • @jimineedles is that why he is considered one of the best producers of all time

  • @libertines24 he is probably the only "producer" you know... so you are forgiven for your stupid fucking comment.

  • @jimineedles yeahs legs ignore countless list and why so many people have him as producer

  • @libertines24 just because something is popular, doesn't mean its fucking good. think about dat.

  • @jimineedles lol just because you like something more doesn't mean its better. Think about that you fucking idiot

  • @libertines24 retort whatever bullshit you want, kanye is a hip hop ruiner and you fucking know it. radio slave shit ass motherfucker. Have you heard Lil' Wayne? Fucking atrocious... guess what? Kanye put his shit out. Fuck you, fuck wayne and fuck kanye. I content that I know real hip hop and actual producers. Think about that you clueless cunt.

  • @jimineedles oh look at me im so indie. I know real producers and hip hop artist. Lol you make me laugh. What are you 12? Too cool to like mainstream music? Or just stuck at the mind set of an angry high school kid? Kanye West works harder than anyone in music and if you dont see that you are a blind hater.

  • @libertines24 .... You are wrong about everything son. It pains me to see you have been brainwashed into thinking that Kanye is some sort of decent hip hop artist. You see; Kanye can release anything - even if is fucking tripe (which most of it is) and suckers like you will buy it because you have bought into the BRAND... not the music. I 'might' be 12, but least I'm not getting fucked in the ass by mediocre rappers and men in business suites laughing whilst they burn all the money you gave them

  • @jimineedles okay so you are just a kid worried about buying into the system. Im wasting my time arguing with a kid. Listen Kanye makes great and personal music. He is the only artist in the mainstream that tries to push harder than anyone, and people like Rolling Stones, Spin, pitchfork, and all music all agree. I hated 808 when it first came out so there goes your argument but that albums has grown on me. Kanye is just the only artist in music period that isn't scared. I think he is the best

  • @libertines24 kid... USED to annoy me, it's become a quick-one for those that can't think for themselves and rely on generic youtube comebacks to further their arguments. I am happy that you have conceded, by acknowledging the system exists, you are effectively biting the hand that feeds - notwithstanding your petty pleas of 'but kanye works REALLY really hard' - you have failed to understand that working hard does not equal good music. Kanye happens to be a bit of a cunt too - I might add.

  • @oneshotcannon they rip on him for making a shit song

  • @oneshotcannon That's not the point, its the idea that he created the song, thats what pisses us off, most real Daft Punk fans are aware they sample a lot of other musicians in their bigger hits, but a lot of their less popular music like "something about us" "emotion" "making love" "steam machine" are original on their own, you don't know what you are talking about.

  • @oneshotcannon This Is the original.

  • @oneshotcannon ya but daft punk made the song better, where as kanye west made it worse...

  • @knwr I disagree. lol

  • @libertines24 kanye west took the funk out of the song... no argument

  • @knwr I think he wanted to make his song. Daft Punk stole this song lol. Kanye did something different

  • @libertines24 i guess you can call suckin dick doin somethin different, but anybody who ruins a funk song is a loser in my books. ps stop goin around suckin kanye's dick for him, he can do it himself

  • @knwr Kanye>you

  • @libertines24 you talkin about his dick?

  • @oneshotcannon

lol its called sampling for a reason, those who understand it know its not as easy as copy paste. dont feed the ignorant hate with more hate!

  • @alucard2d Let's be honest, it's almost as easy as copying and pasting. To sample this all I need to do is set my recording device to stereo mix and press record in Audacity. All Daft Punk had to do was run this song through a mixer and press record on a tape.

  • @eliotnova Okay.. apparently you are going to wayyy too much trouble to sample songs. All you need to do is open the wav or mp3 of the song in audacity or rip it off the cd. Hahaha and no.. Daft punk added a lot to this sample that made it worthy of radio play. This song probably wouldn't be nearly as popular without daft punk. Cause yes, even though its a slick bass line, bass lines do not win grammys.

  • @MrJohnyGoatzyn Too much trouble? I had to press 3 buttons. Besides, I was explaining it as if I were sampling from this video. Sure you can just open an MP3 or rip a CD but what if you don't have either of those? I never said anything about what Daft Punk did to it, I was just explaining that sampling is as easy as heck and anyone with half a brain could do it.

  • @oneshotcannon This song is virtually unknown before Daft Punk. Kanye took something that was great and fucked it up.

  • @oneshotcannon Um ya about that Daft Sampled the music. That is one thing anyone does that. Many are still debating whether or not Confrontation By Tangerine dream sampled comfortably numb. However Taking lyrics and I shall say that again L-Y-R-I-C-S. Words that have no connection to the source material they themselves sampled, is not sampling a sampler its ripping off. Which Kanye is guilty of not only that but slowing them down to make it sound like they been rerecorded. That's sloppy.

  • @Shanethefilmmaker

wow you're an idiot that knows nothing about music so I don't know why you're writing that crap...Lifting anything from an original song, be it lyrics or music is called sampling. Kanye West and Daft Punk both gave credit and royalties to the original source so the legality of it is an non-issue...and Hip-Hop has always been sampling other music and pitching/slowing it up or down so it fits a certain tempo that the rapper can rap to.

  • @blahblahblahsdafd All I am saying is even samplers wouldn't call what Kanye did Sampling. The lyrics of Harder better faster stronger had their own beat before it was played against Cola Bottle Baby. Due to the fact that those lyrics were recorded using a Talk Box. If a song is slowed down or sped up to make a different song its sampling. If its played the same by a different band its covering. What kanye did was he took words. He may as well have "Sampled" The great dictator speech.

  • @oneshotcannon Hahah, they make it seem like Kanye "steals" while Daft Punk and everyone else "merely sample".

  • DAFT PUNK???

  • honestly I think this song is completely unique, and that the daft punk sample of this song is limited in it's usage, but is differently broad when it comes to actual music. It is indeed some funky shit, and I like it.

  • @GoodLookingAlphaMale first of all this song came out first. Second of all kanye was sampling daft punk sampling this song

  • @GoodLookingAlphaMale not sure if troll....or just stupid

  • wow this is such a rip of kanye. fuckin theifs

  • @GoodLookingAlphaMale Mr Dumbshit, This guy made this song first and Draft punk Sampled it and then kanye stole it you dumb shit

  • @GoodLookingAlphaMale oh my lord you have just made my day. I do not want to live on this planet anymore.

  • Considering how few people have ever heard of this song, I think Daft Punk's song must have been a pretty large improvement.

  • Sampling is okay if Daft Punk does it?

That's some bullshit. Other groups don't get that luxury from listeners.

  • @3rkid2 Daft Punk are DJs. Sampling is like 90% of the job. Plus, they credit where the get their samples from. I don't see why this is a problem.

  • @3rkid2 Wat? Yes they do. Sampling is a pretty universally accepted concept in both electronic music and hip hop.

  • Harder

    Better

    Faster

    Stronger

  • they basically never made much of their music lol

  • Great!!!

  • uh guys there Dj's and Dj's do something called sampling

  • Epic Song. And yeah, Daft Punk used the beat but they changed the actual song just enough to make it their own original work. It's just like doing homework with Wikipedia open, you keep the base of the article but add your own stuff and change it up a bit.

  • anyone who argues with sampling is a Daft ...punk.

    eheheheh. CUNTS

  • @LEWIEH100

i see what you did there

    xD

  • @Madgamerkids you are stupid...

  • Daft Punk made this song badass!!

  • daft punk changed enough of the original to make it their own song. the original is rad tho..

  • Well, who knew? Now I can listen to this original and Daft Punk's take on it. Hell, I applaud them for blowing the dust off of this track; else I never would've known.

  • DPROLL'D

  • daft punk sucks compared to this bro

  • One can't help but wonder how many of you would be listening or would have ever heard of this great track if it weren't for the genius of Daft Punk.

  • This song really pisses me off. LIke I don't mind he stole it from daft punk coz theyre shit, but seeing as he stole it from a musical God like Kanye, its absolute blasphemy. Fuck you talentless twat

  • @kendrikMN I know, right?! Lousy stupid goddamn time-traveling song thieves!

  • @kendrikMN

    0/10

  • @idontkno77 I reckon haha. I wouldn't even give him zero. I'd put the song around -1/10

  • @kendrikMN Do you have any Idea what you're talking about? At all? Honestly? This song came out around the time Kanye West and Daft Punk were fucking born. This song wasn't even used in "Stronger" and Kanye was the one who sampled Daft Punk, who sampled this song. Just no

  • @kendrikMN fail troll fails this dude created the original beat.

  • @lonerider92 Umm no. Daft punk did... Read the top comment, everyone knows this fag stole it from daft punk and daft punk based the song on kanye. Stop trying to troll, it's not funny

  • @kendrikMN nah you're a fail troll who doesn't know jack shit about music now if you please sir kindly go shove a hot iron rod in your urethra

  • @lonerider92 Mate, it's not even funny you trying to turn it back on my saying I'm troll. How about, before you accuse me of anything, you get your facts straight

  • @kendrikMN my facts are straight, it's pretty obvious you're the troll, any music lover would know that this song came out before daft punk was even created, sampling songs is nothing new if you mean they sampled the beat, then yes they did but they have permission just like Kanye got permission from daft punk to sample their song, in another note I can tell there is a bunch of butt hurt in you because you are jealous of all of their fame and money cause all you ever do is wank to hentai.

  • @lonerider92 Man, you've gone to so much effort for this "joke". It's not funny. So lame. Weakest trolling ive ever seen haha. Maybe next time bud

  • @kendrikMN who said I'm trolling? could it be possible I'm stating cold hard facts? I mean not every one on the internet is a fail troll like you who fucks their mom at night.

  • @lonerider92 Come on mate thats just rude. Just because no one likes ur immature trolling jokes doesnt mean you have to resort to that. Just admit ur jokes not funny

  • @kendrikMN I'm not jokin' you're the one who's trolling here bro you clearly don't know your music history and the top rated comment reads as stated "Daft punks music is not a lie, they admit to using samples to other songs." clearly you are an ass backwards individual who can't tell when a song was made and who originally owns the beat. I recommend doing a google search on this song to see when it was made, you'll clearly see he made the song.

  • @kendrikMN so thus in terms you really should work on YOUR trolling because you dun goof'd.

  • @lonerider92 Yeah that jokes so dry bro, sorry

  • @kendrikMN dry like your mothers vagoo you're prolly so stupid you think bob marley the singer stole the name from bob marley the comedian.

  • COLA,BOTTLE,BABY

  • Why is it that when a black man (Kanye West) samples a white man's music (Daft Punk), everybody gets mad and swears and junk (as shown by the StrongerFasterHarderBetter video), but, when white men (Deft Punk) sample a black man's music (Edwin Birdsong), everybody falls all over themselves to excuse it. Could Deft Punk fans possibly be huge racists? I don't know, but there definitely seems to be a double standard with those guys.

  • @cybersocko DDDDD: IM NOT RACIST IM A BLACK WOMAN WHO LOVE ALL THREE ARTIST

    SORRY FOR CAPS

  • @cybersocko It has nothing to do with race. It's just that Daft Punk is awesome and Kanye kind of sucks.
