You're basing all that on this interview of Kathy Griffin, who is known for taking over interviews? Critics generally disagree with you. Oprah gave him good reviews, as did Larry King (although he thinks Morgan interrupts too much). So have political bloggers. I actually learn a lot because he asks questions I'd ask. Seacrest is on many shows (i.e. American Idol, New Year's Rocking Eve, Larry King's substitute), produces shows and has his own radio show. Mariah Carey has very little relevant experience. Her main movie, Glitter, was panned although her performance in Precious got good reviews.

And if he felt uncomfortable around her, he could easily not have her on the New Year's special. However, Kathy can be a loose cannon who ad libs a lot, and she might accidentally mention it because she's so comfortable with gay issues and jokes.
A similar thing occurred when Rosie inadvertently sorta outed Clay Aiken when she accused Kelly Ripa of homophobia.

I think people are confused and getting angry at Piers for no reason haha. It seemed like he was joking around just as much as Kathy was. You have to keep in mind that he's NOT a professional comedian, so it's going to be a little less funny and a little more awkward when he tries to make the same jokes back at her. But the fact that he's laughing and poking her back shows that he gets it, that he gets her act, and that he's willing to play along. Personally, I admire that.

Very different shows. Piers has proven to be a surprisingly good journalist in America, despite being British. Watch his excellent coverage of American politics, especially after the GOP debates. His analyses are spot-on. and can match most American journalists. I'm a news and political junkie, and I'd say that he knows American politics more than most Americans.

Say what? Please quote what I said that puzzles you. My comments about Morgan's current show has nothing to do with his past shows, whether in the UK or US. It focuses solely on this CNN show. And I say that as someone who has watched 80% of his episodes and his work on CNN's post-election specials. I'm also a CNN, PBS, news and political junkie so I can compare him to others.
I love Piers and Kathy both. Kathy got in a hundred insults, but Piers got me chuckling too a few times. I was surprised at how he could get in a few jokes, Kathy's usually the dominant one. :)

The fascinating thing is that Piers is currently caught up in the UK phone hacking scandal. There is evidence suggesting that he knew all about it when he was an editor. 1) The fact that Piers is in a scandal that may get him fired from CNN or arrested (like Rebekah Brooks) is stressful and may affect his performance. When Oprah was sued by the beef industry, she took a break, afraid that her TV performance would suffer.
2) Kathy is a loose cannon, and he might have been nervous that she would bring up the scandal to use against him. You don't think that would affect an interviewer? This is Kathy Griffin, not Meryl Streep!

Expectedly, there was very little CNN coverage of Piers' testimony at the hearing. Other stations showed much more. This has been the case with every network, not just CNN, i.e the Rather/Bush controversy. The difficulty ifor CNN news s in trying to appear objective without embarrassing Piers.

Very different shows. Piers has proven to be a surprisingly good journalist in America, despite being British. Watch his excellent coverage of American politics, especially after the GOP debates. His analyses are spot-on. and can match most American journalists. I'm a news and political junkie, and I'd say that he knows American politics more than most Americans.

The fascinating thing is that Piers is currently caught up in the UK phone hacking scandal. There is evidence suggesting that he knew all about it when he was an editor. He's been going back to London to be grilled by the government. I'll be watching his face for signs of stress, and see if he takes it out on the guests. Thanks for watching.

1) The fact that Piers is in a scandal that may get him fired from CNN or arrested (like Rebekah Brooks) is stressful and may affect his performance. When Oprah was sued by the beef industry, she took a break, afraid that her TV performance would suffer.
2) Kathy is a loose cannon, and he might have been nervous that she would bring up the scandal to use against him. You don't think that would affect an interviewer? This is Kathy Griffin, not Meryl Streep!

Expectedly, there was very little CNN coverage of Piers' testimony at the hearing. Other stations showed much more. This has been the case with every network, not just CNN, i.e the Rather/Bush controversy. The difficulty ifor CNN news s in trying to appear objective without embarrassing Piers.
Knowing this, you don't think Piers is under constant stress?
