Karate is a form of wushu. Zhongguo wushu would be how you say "chinese martial arts".

If you watch the clip, you can see he uses a variation of the chi sao to block the punches, which is a Wing Chun move.
I think it should be Wushu when talking about the competition forms (what Jet Li does, basically) and wushu when talking about Chinese martial arts. Just to alleviate confusion.

Wushu guys don't know how to fight. Wing Chun guys do awful when fighting anybody other than wing chun guys. Karate guys would normally destroy either (especially if they were kyokushin).

yip was not the best. Chow Kwong-yue was the best student among Yip and their other classmates when they graduated learning from their master. Also in the film when he was meant to be in Foshan fighting the Japanese - he in reality, was living happily in HK being a policeman.

If you watch the clip, you can see he uses a variation of the chi sao to block the punches, which is a Wing Chun move.

Wushu guys don't know how to fight. Wing Chun guys do awful when fighting anybody other than wing chun guys. Karate guys would normally destroy either (especially if they were kyokushin).

Also Karate guys might not destroy either, it depends on how much you train and what you train, it's like putting a boxer against a Muay Thai fighter, you put them in a fight, clearly the boxer will have stronger punches cause that is what his specific attack is.

They don't do anything related to fighting. It's just a performance art.
Karate generally does at least a small amount of fight related training, and if it's Kyokushin Karate they do a lot of fight related training. Again, Wushu doesn't do anything related to fighting, while Wing Chun people rarely even go medium contact in their sparring.

@Ljenkins9000 Also a muay thai fighter will have stronger knees, elbows and kicks, cause he trains them more than a boxer does. It all depends on how much you train daily and what you train specifically, you cannot just assume a Karate fighter would destroy a wushu fighter.

Although Wing Chun is only a southern style of traditional Wushu, it has a totally different concept and today it is its own distinct martial art.

Yip man was a police officer in real life - not the one being abused by the police.
yip was not the best. Chow Kwong-yue was the best student among Yip and their other classmates when they graduated learning from their master. Also in the film when he was meant to be in Foshan fighting the Japanese - he in reality, was living happily in HK being a policeman.
