  • @TheReturnOfStephan1 Awww okay . I did find the version of My Man from Blue months ago . Thanks anyhow XD

  • OHHHH COULD YOU PLEASE UPLOAD "STRANGE FRUIT" AND "MY MAN" FROM THIS SOUNDTRACK PLEASE XD

  • This soundtrack is Diana Ross' greatest body of work in what was truly an amazing career..

  • Thanx' ....

  • What most people don't know is that the released soundtrack is actually its "watered down" second version. In Motown's vaults lies the ORIGINAL soundtrack. It's said that on that version, Diana sounded so much like Billie, Berry freaked, fearing that Diana would be too closely associated w/ jazz, especially if the film flopped, so to retain her pop career, he had her record a second, Diana-ized version of the entire soundtrack, and the rest, as they say, is history.

  • sorry but can someone tell me about this song, im getting into the 60s:)

  • @yancybby93

God Bless the Child" is a song written by Billie Holiday and Arthur Herzog, Jr. in 1939, first recorded on May 9, 1941 under the Okeh label.

This is Diana Ross' version of the song, recorded for her film, "Lady Sings The Blues", a biopic loosely based upon Billie Holiday's 1955 autobiography of the same name.

Diana's soundtrack for the film peaked at #1 on Billboard's Pop chart in 1972.

  • I forgot about this album. I love many of the songs on this project, especially this song.

  • Diana Ross really played her role in "Lady Sings The Blues"... it's a shame she was only nominated for a grammy, but didn't win. What an angelic sound that spewed from mouth of Diana Ross.

  • @poetryselite she was alos nominated for an Academy Award...but lost :[

  • @b1tch19 That's my fault... I meant nominated for Oscar... sometimes hands type faster than brain computes.

  • She's got a beautiful voice, I love it!

  • I have this soundtrack! Mama may have ...Papa may have, but God bless the child that's got his own Lady Sings The Blues soundtrack (LOL.)
