We need more scientists like this. Food should be nourishment, not poison. The main problem here is that consumers are generally unaware of what they are putting into their bodies. There needs to be a more vigorous campaign to encourage people to see what's beyond the colourful food wrappings. By all accounts the FDA is more concerned about larger profit margins and the care for consumer health as secondary to it. Just restating the point.

GMO crops destroy plants that create nectar and pollen and create plants that produce less of that. Since pollinators like butterflies and bees are dying from frankencorps, soon that will be the end of food crops like vegetables, nuts, fruits, etc..GMO crops are made to push killer pesticides and herbicides peddled by criminal corporations. There is nothing wrong with genetic modification other than what humans modify them to do, or what nature modifies them to do.

The wheat we eat is all from a genetic modification i.e. cross breeding that was conducted milennia ago.

I would rather eat genetically modified food than organic food. It's much safer.

@ProofReasonLogic selective/cross-breeding is not the same as genetic modification. Scientists are manipulating (adding/removing/changing) genes to produce new animal/plant species. These aren't natural organisms and as a result they will have adverse effects if introduced into a new ecosystems. Monsanto is a profit-driven company. Long-term health effects have not been studied...this is dangerous.

@ProofReasonLogic you're trying to use semantics. (1) There is a clear distinction between GM and breeding. By definition Genetic modification is using *modern biotechnology* to alter the genetic material of cells or organisms in order to make them capable of producing new substances or functions. While breeding involves natural conception. (2) GM is not natural. That's like saying a skyscraper is natural. You would never see a skyscraper in nature.
