Not gonna lie, it's kind of funny. In the 50's, the only technology a teacher had in her classroom was a chalkboard, a textbook, maybe a globe or chemistry set, and her voice. Yet through her dedication, our kids were on top of the world. So, I think it's so funny that people throw money and technology at our schools, yet they don't improve. It doesn't require technology, it's all about parent involvement and student ambition. Lol, sorry if that is off topic, but man, I had to get it out.
I adore this movie, but still feel Gable was entirely too damed old for her. Gig Young was always so charming and funny, he would have been a more suitable match for her in this case I thought.
Well that was in the writing about the way she treated him. He was too old for her as a love interest. He really looked older that his biological age too.

Gable was far too old, they should have casta younger actor like James Garner or Rock Hudson.

@PeterFirthFan You mean that Gable wasn't a racist, a Nazi, etc. Wow -- maybe there is hope for you yet.

I still want to see (with sound) the entire scene where Doris imitates Mamie Van Doren's performance of "The Girl Who Invented Rock & Roll".

Gable was badly miscast. It made no sense that she was treating him like some young journalistic prodigy when he was clearly close to retirement age.

Yes he already had lung cancer.

Yeah, and he was a boozer too, and that'll age just as much if not more than cancer.

that was one of the points of the movie - old with young.

Nicely done. What version of the song is that? Which album is it on?

Teacher, Teacher is on Johnny's Greatest Hits. The Doris Day song is from the title track/credits of the movie itself.
