This is the land that should have been turned into Long Island's motorsports recreational facility. It would enable much of the land to be preserved, while also enable motorsports enthusiasts to have a place to legally enjoy their hobby, instead of endangering people on the streets. For example, Grumman's runway would be turned into a drag strip.

@LittleCarbonhahahaha Race track and drag strip!!! Exactly, more than half the land on this site would remain open or preserved. And I saw one car on the road in that entire video, so a few hundred more would be on it on race weekend, big woop. The LIRR is so close. Build an extension and locals could ride the train to the track, the same way you get to the Meadowlands, Citi Field, and Yankee statium. It would cut down on the traffic.
