  • damn!

  • I'm really impressed

  • My favorite cover of this song for sure, awesome. Don't listen to the douche

  • you only have views because ppl think they are about to listen to dylan, douche

  • gorgeous

  • All that, and a nod to Jeff Buckley as well. Well done, man.

  • Simply lovely.

  • truely amazing ... great strings and super awesome voice ..

  • Amazing...

  • This is a fantastic cover ...what a voice! Is this your own arrangement?...Deserves a sub!

  • @thomassneade thanks! The arrangement is mainly taken from a live version by Jeff Buckley, it's on The Rain Was Falling On That Day, which has a few great covers on it - including another Dylan track in Farewell Angelina. Well worth a listen if you don't mind rough recordings.

  • where can i find the original??

  • @bienenboss it's on Blood On The Tracks.

  • <3

    dylan

  • I wish everyone would stop comparing him to Bob Dylan! Yes Dave's amazing but no one can do it like Dylan.

  • It is NOT DON'T tell her. It is THOUGH tell her...

  • @yaknbo no it's 'DON'T TELL HER'. I'll give you two reasons why:

    1. That makes sense.

    2. That's what it says on Bob Dylan's website.

  • @MusicFromBlueSkies I think that yaknbo is right, why would he doesn't want her to know that?

  • @yaknbo I have always thought that the line "she might think i've forgotten her, don't tell her it isn't so" is one of the most amazing line I have ever heard. One of the reasons is that you can interpret it the way you like. And I really like your interpretation. From one side he does not want her to know that he has not forgotten her, but on the other hand he WANTS her to know that he still thinks about her. Dylan is a genius.

  • @yaknbo hahahahah no no no no it is not Though tell her, that would make mister bobs lyrics much plainer than they usually are

Don't tell her gives the right dylan touch to this song, keeping things vague is one of his strongest sides.

  • @yaknbo

nope. the text i know since 1975 says "don't tell her".

he doesn't want her to know he still thinks about her.

  • This is amazing :)

  • you have soul man, great take

  • any specific tunning?

    good song dude!

  • Nice cover! with a lot of emotion!

  • Beautiful version of a great song!

  • Good one ! Love your interpretation =)

  • Good and different cover version.

  • You make me want to play the guitar.

  • My god you're unbeleivable good... Loved the cover <3

  • youre pretty amazing.

    just saying.

  • Hey man, I can't say that your version is better, Bob Dylan remains in my heart. But you gave me the bigger chill since months... Thank you, your job is wonderful. And please forgive me for my awful English

  • except it's not Bob Dylan ... it's you

  • Your voice doesn't sound as sad like Dylan's was when he sang this song.

  • superb

  • superb

  • superb you need a recording contract

  • Bob Dylan, his music is so good.

    and your cover too <3

  • Had to pass by and listen to this one again since it is my very favorite of

    yours. Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OK but Dylan sings it with more passion.

  • Great version of a great song

  • Beautieful

  • subscribed! tender voice and subtle guitar playing. great! hope to hear more of you soon. :)

  • great song bro

  • What does he mean by THIS:

"she might think i've forgotten her, don't tell her it isn't so"

    What does he mean?

That he doesn't want her to think that he has forgotten her?

    confusing sentense for a non-english speaker =)

  • It means he doesn't want her to know that he still thinks about her.

  • Think what he means is he has not forgotten her at all, but ....if she thinks he has, leave her with that (wrong) idea. He is willing to keep all the suffering to himself.

  • @Salladsdressing Долбоеб

  • @Salladsdressing

Yeah but I think Dylan's line was "oh tell her it isn't so".

  • @ryan06105 Dylan often changed his lyrics but I've never heard a version with 'oh tell her' in it. I hope he never did because 'don't tell her' is a much better line!

  • Who gives a shit? I change his lyrics all the time if i play a Dylan song, cause i want to make it mine.

  • @Salladsdressing The Line was "she might think I've forgotten her - don't tell her it is so

  • sounded good very clear. liked much.

  • love this..... =)

  • better than bob dylan... I heard your version before his, and although I like him, his version disappointed me... it's very moving. the reaction of my skin is the best proof of how good your voice is

  • Still my favorite and I've been around

long enough to know good music!!!!!!!!!

    Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you've made this my favourite song!

    i love your version!

  • Really a good job. You're trying to do what Jeff Buckley did with Lenny's Hallelujah... Good luck, it's so hard.

  • mate u are a legend i love your work keep rocking and yeah also tell me when your cd comes out i wanna be the first one to buy it .

  • It isn't so...

  • Let us know when your CD comes out !

Love how you play the guitar !

    Visit the states soon !

  • Way better than the original :o

    ~God Bless You!~

  • Had to stop by and listen to my favorite

song by you. To bad this wasn't your song

in the beginning. Perfect key and type

of song for your voice. Beautiful and better

    than original. Love you, Carol

  • i do care for others opinions but to be honest, saying that this is better than the original that is just about the worst possible thing you could have said. the original is all about emotions, this version is dull, boring, it doest even feel like he miss her...

  • +1. Totally agreed. I do like the guitar in this version though.

  • listen to jeff buckleys version.

  • really good thank you. just been to se him in sheffield england was awesome like you cheers...ian uk.

  • Still my favorite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Perfect!!!

  • beautiful man!

  • boy, you made my day. :)

  • your videos never get old

thank you for sharing your talent

    un beso

  • very nice!! you're in for a record deal someday!!!

  • Really nice, relaxed and clear. You're obviously going places.. good luck

  • Very good my boy-great voice and performance-buatiful-good luck on future Regards from a old mann in Denmark

  • Great cover, good voice. Good job changing it up too.

  • Never get tired of this. I admire your talent and thanks for sharing it with us.

  • the sound here is really good. i mean for a youtube vid. kudos. this version has the emotive quality of buckley's but the straightfoward honesty of dylan's. great balance, mate. great

  • Love your voice

  • awesome cover.. fantastic voice

  • Still my favorite of all your videos. You

show your talent on the guitar. This

is the best type of song for your voice.

    Excellent and your best!!!!!!

    Love it!!!!!!!!

  • i havent looked through all of the videos so dont get mad if you already have it but you should do the bob dylan song like a rolling stone or Stuck Inside MObile with the Memphis Blues Again

  • Very honest and heartfelt rendition...BDs words rise high in your spirit...

  • great cover! :)

Quite soothing I must say :)

  • Kindof a little Jeff Buckley thing going on here...I like it.

  • WOW... Bravo!

  • wow!! very beautiful cover! it touches my heart! great job! :)

  • This has to be the best version of this song I have ever heard.

    I love it.

    Very heartfelt..

  • Amazing cover, really, really well done.

  • is that an akg 414? bloody good mic.

    great cover

  • I second Kinarh17 comment..simply wonderful!

  • man, this is good. i listened to your version before dylans and i like yours better

  • okay, every video I watch, i like you more. for both musical cover choices and for your talent. don't listen to all the imbeciles on here, most of them haven't any idea what they are even talking about(as I'm sure most of them are hardly old enough to know who Dylan was, and have no place to judge your interpretation). Your talent is pure gold :)

  • i love it!!!

  • good version!!!

  • wouldn't make it any less beautiful.

  • yea good point, bob dylan is still sooo underground.

  • Bob Dylan is hardly an obscure artist...

  • its beautiful !!!!

  • I'm not a fan of youtube videos covering songs, but this one is great.

I guess Dylan's songs were written to be played by others. There's no other explanation for so many of his songs turning out that well, performed by other musicians.

  • Wonderfully performed. Blood on the Tracks is one of my favorites. I've got many good memories by the album in particular by this song. Thank you thank you thank you.

  • bravo!!!

  • damn i wasn't looking at the screen and i could have sworn it was bob dylan singing

  • this was awesome!!! dylan completely FTW!!!

u should do more of his covers...that woold be interesting

  • sound a bit like Donovan sings Dylan. That's not a bad thing.

  • you are amazing... kiss from Poland!

  • you should defintely do some more dylan covers.

    (please)

  • Great version, well done - sounds like a totally new tune that way.

  • This was a truely sensational performance and a very good heart warmer imo

Keep up the good work matey!!!!

  • This guy did an awesome job, I mean why try to copy Dylan...

No one can copy Dylan. Jesus.. I mean it's Bob Dylan.

And I agree with the Jonas Brother comment.. lol.

  • say hello to the new jonas brother

    oooooooooooo

  • ten bucks says the jonas brothers dont even know who bob dylan is.

  • doubt it. jonas bros. are too busy makin disney movies to pay attention to bob dylan and other musicains who get (and deserve) more respect than they do.

  • says the man with nickleback as his screen name

  • @milesofmilestone i was looking for dylan and came across this video of one where one them makes a joke about how dylan cant sing which is even worse than not knowing him

  • Bob Dylan would think it nonsensical that people are bothered by the fact that this gentleman revised lyrics, changed tempo, and made the song his own. That embodies Dylan. Well done.

  • Different sound of course, but I liked it. And hey, no one changes Dylan's lyrics more than Dylan himself. If someone wants to hear the exact original album version, put on the album.

  • People,

    Leave him alone.

He did a good fucking job.

When you cover a song that someone did, you aren't trying to make it be like them.

When you cover a song it is your take on the song.

    He did an amazing job.

  • He's just using lyrics from bootlegversions you dope:)! By the way, I'm sure he is more than a bit inspired by Jeff Buckley's take on the song from Live at Sin-é.

  • omg look everyone, it's someone who knows what they're talking about!

    =)

  • Take it from a Dylan enthusiast, you did a great job with this one!

  • hey are you australian, because you sound like it. oh and music sounds awesome but not as good as bob, sorry man, hes just a legend

  • Absolutly beautiful!

It made me want to cry.

    It touched my soul.

Your just amazing, and cute too! :)

    Amazing job!

  • Beautifully done <3

  • ahh you just made water come out my eyes see you sniff sniff brill ,

  • wow, that was amazing...great voice...ridiculous guitar playing...just all around amazing....

  • everything sounds so amazing! what kind of acoustic electric guitar do you have?

  • thanks =)

    It's a Fender DG

  • i will.

  • great voice keep up the good work!

  • good......!!! go 4 it !

  • better than the original

  • Oh my God!!!

    U r FANTASTIC!!!

    your voice, dylan's song..

    compliments from Italy!!

  • love it....i would love to hear you sing shelter from the storm but yes that was great

  • bravissimo..;_;

  • OMG you were actually amazing. Im letting a cigarette burn thru my table as we speak (and that's not a joke!). You must be only 15 or something, but god, you have the sex appel, just likw jwff buckley! and dy;lan, of course, but you have the voice AND the looks! lucky ducky! my comment is, don't stop, give it all you're worth. You'll be a Bigshot, because I know ur type of music so keep at it!write ur own. ur amazing. Ull go far.

  • stop dylan's pop versions

  • i love it!

great cover - i like the lyrical changes from the dylan version and love the vocals. good job mate

  • cooooooooooooooooool

  • Good sound on the guitar. Just enough reverb.

Keep singing. Try some psalms of David. Precarious times so sing the of the Truth brother

  • Listen to this often. Still my favorite.

    Absolutely awesome. !!!!!!!

  • good song

  • AWESOME

  • great cover and beautiful song

  • it's a good cover, but dylan's voice and i don't know...

Something about Dylan makes every song he sings better...

  • ... got to say Bobby Dylan's '75 original would take some beating.

  • I would have to say that's not the point.

  • Goodness! Lost in admiration. Dunno why they bother with the X Factor.

  • That style of music really suits you. You played and sang it really well...great job!

  • That was a beautiful cover. All of your videos are awesome, keep it up! ^_^

  • simply amazing.

  • killled it like USUAL

  • WoW! Just Beautiful! In my favs for sure!

  • In a lot of cases I seem to like dylan covers more than dylan dylan songs. a couple of days ago I heard the I'm Not There soundtrack and it's epic. 33 covers, and his original i'm not there. with iron and wine, sonic youth, sufjan stevens, the hold steady, the black keys, yo la tengo, jeff tweeney, mark lanegan, anthony and the johnsons, willie nelson and a lot of other perfectly good musicians that i don't know much about XD

  • really nice

  • Faved and 5 star ...great job Dave!!!

  • i love when you sing..its beautiful =']

  • I come back here every week just to listen to this song, I love it so much. I live in Tangier, so it's got some sentimental connections for me....

  • Salford salutes MusicFromBlueSkies

  • beautiful :-).

  • Your song goes straight into my favorites, where it belongs. Lovely song, beautifully executed, melancholy wonder. Thank you for posting this.

  • kay, i love you. haha.

  • I must say, you certainly show up Dylan on the vocals. :-)

  • i always love your versions of songs...this one, as always, impresses me. love your music, dave. :]

  • Sounds kinda like Jeff Buckley

  • cool song man, never heard this song by dylan before.

  • I am genuinely impressed !
