It seems you did not bother to watch the whole video or you would know why you don't just "use the dodge and burn tool". This method separates the modifications from the actual image. In the video I show how your changes can be tweaked with simple movements of the opacity slider.. but countless other modification can be made from filters to color tones.. Before you make comments of "rubbish" maybe you should learn a little more about how Photoshop works.

dodge and burn is more for grayscale images rather than color...This is a good workaround for color.
