i was there as well i thought it be a perfect setting if elton john was there that night as well and i thought he would be there because elton had a concert in jersey the day after this concert so he was in the area but paul mccartney did rock shea to the floor

I was there that night...I was also there on Tues., Aug. 23, 1966 @ 7:30 PM to see Paul AND John AND George AND Ringo. Wow...talk about bringing it full circle!!!

my 52 year old dad jumped on his chair like he was a little boy when he heard him say please welcome sir paul mccartney...and then i went equally as nuts...amazing moment in time being there for this!

You got what the pros seem to miss--close up crowd shots and reactions. Check the girl's reaction at 2:45, if that dont look like a shot from 1964 or '65 I don't know what does. It is amazing to see the young people in the crowd reacting the same why they did over 40 years ago--very cool.
