  • whats the song called please

  • @viper3944 "Men of Harlech" and "Zulu: Main title"

  • ddim sharad cymraig?

  • DEBERIAN SUBIR AL CINE LA BATALLA DE CARTAGENA, CUANDO UN VASCO SALVO AL IMPERIO ESPAÑOL...DON BLAS DE LEZO

  • @hentai500129 Un vasco... si señor...

  • GOD SAVE THE QUEEN ! long live great britain

  • Thats Birmingham on a Saturday night

  • The song they sing is "men of Harlech" which is really a Welsh independence song against the English oppressor

  • @jimbo271uk Actually its to do with the defence of Harlech castle during the war of the roses for the English crown.

  • @Puzzoozoo thanks for that information

  • love it!

  • Sorry you Taffs. Not a Welsh mob for years to come. These were Warwickshires with a sprinkling of Welshmen and every other bastard from every corner of Britain icluding Cockneys, Jocks and Scousers. Nice bit of singing though.

  • another thing the white man has to be proud of!! one day im sure black people will contribute to this country, but first they have to get up of there lazy arses and get a job and stop using the racist card................... lol

  • i can spell you retared cunt were you from then dick head :) ha

  • Sorry Taffs, no soldiers sang Men Of Harlech at Rorkes Drift. Why would they? The 24th Foot was mostly composed of men from the Midlands but did contain some Welsh soldiers. It became the South Wales Borderers some years later.

  • Learn to spell you stupid scouser

  • Great video and song 'men of Harlech' thanks for posting.

  • Great stuff Yank Marine. grEat video mate.

  • we soldiers rule :))

¿Vale? Te guste o no.

  • The film Zulu did have a number of inaccuracies, which a little research can uncover. Nonetheless, for the period (1964), it was an excellent film of a vignette of the British Empires Little Wars, although I am sure the Zulus could not have called the Anglo-Zulu war small by any means. This was a nice tribute video, thanks.

  • The best concise book available I have found on Rorkes drift is a slim volume by Ian Knight, Rorkes 1879 by Osprey Military Campaign Series #41, pub 1996. While not absolutely exhaustive, in only 96 pages it lays out the topography around the stockade using period and recent photography, enabling one to see how formidable the British position was despite being greatly outnumbered. It also presents a scholarly and balanced view of the action, stripped of jingoism or bias.

  • EXELLENT VID TRIBUTE AS WELL

  • In fact is was the 24th (The 2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot until 1881 then the name changed to the South Wales Borderers after Rourkes Drift, also if you check the roll call, many of the soldiers were from England as well as Wales. Simply fact sorry!

  • A small force composed around B Company, 2nd Battalion, 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot (renamed the South Wales Borderers in 1881) was detailed to garrison the station, requisitioned as a supply depot and hospital under the command of Brevet Major Henry Spalding, 104th Foot, a member of Chelmsford's staff.

  • it was i think the 24th foot based in neath s.wales bloody english typical trying to take credit agreed to officer was an english man but 1 man dont make a fighting force like that.

  • Actually it wasn't just welsh in the rank and file... Welsh chip on your shoulder. Besides i thought the welsh don't thinkof themselves as British!

  • The Royal Welch Fusiliers were a regiment of the British Army, part of the Prince of Wales' Division. It was founded in 1689 to oppose James II and the imminent war with France. The regiment was numbered as the 23rd Regiment of Foot, though it was one of the first regiments to be granted the honour of a fusilier title and so was known as The Welsh Regiment of Fusiliers from 1702. The "Royal" accolade was earned fighting in the War of the Spanish Succession in 1713.

  • yep.. a welsh regiment consisting mostly of Englishmen..

  • 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot (renamed the South Wales Borderers in 1881) was detailed to garrison the station,Of the soldiers present, 49 were English, 32 Welsh, 16 Irish and 22 others of indeterminate nationality.yep a lot of english

  • What's the matter with the people on here ??? ... Stop your futile & infantile bickering and just enjoy the video. Avete capito ??? Understood ???

    Ciao ...... goodbye.

  • I thnk its all you who need to learn some history. It was the roman empire who came from italy funny enough, who gave us things liuke educaton, roads, the first sanitation system. oh and your modern cannon also known as balistas. so shut the fuck up before you take the piss.

  • God another amateur military historian. The regiments zulu uDloko, uThulwana, inDlondo and inDlu-yengwe were engaged at the drift not having seeen any action at Isandlwana which equates to approx 4000 men. Yes 370 BODIES were found around the drift. However bodies continued to be found for months afterwards in the surrounding countryside. Add that to the kill/ wounded ratio in such an engagement and massive wounds from .455 henry slugs leading to infection/death and you triple the body count.

  • You really need to do some serious research on this action and apply a little common sense. only 370 killed LOL what ? all the other zulu's who were hit with a 480 grain .455 softnose slug just laughed it off ? and we are talking about a typical 3:1 kill /wound ratio. I could go on for hours tearing your arms and legs off on the subject but it would be pointless ..you can dress a pig up in a suit but it would still grunt. Don't bother replying to me as I don't respond or argue with wannabes.

  • Also, PLEASE, could I know WHO THE F*** ARE YOU TO CALL ME "AN AMATEUR HISTORIAN"?

I know you brits are as FALSE AS JUDAS, when MILITARY HISTORY IS CONCERNED (YEAH, now, tell me that you have "never lost a war", CLOWN), but I think that a bit more LOVE THE TRUTH would not be bad in a nation of DRUNKEN BRAGGARTS.

    Goodbye

  • this coming from a nation of cowards allways capitulating and surrendering italian tanks no forward gears and your pows did great service on english farms

  • But SHUT UP, LOATHSOME IGNORANT BUFFOON RACIST!

  • ooh buffoon racist thats hard prick ure just pissed cos ure country never amounted to anything oh u gave us spaggetti lol

  • Learn some history, kid

When you have nothing TRUE and SERIOUS to oppose, you drunken faggots english start to offend, true?

It's always your preferred tactic, to offend behind a computer

    Bye stronzo

  • one day on abattlefeild we may meet im not a kiby the way ive served 16 yrs in royal artillry i know my history perhaps a little more than u

  • lol. The Germans must have been on drugs to think you guys could stand against us for 5 minutes in North Africa. Doh!!

  • I am Teutgard and I am 'FALSE AS JUDAS'

    mwahahahahaaaaaaa.

  • No, I am NOT a brit, so I am NOT FALSE.

Carry on slandering other people and inventing tales,

    BUFFOONS!

  • @zahudum the round would kill you instantly if it hit the head of body and it would tear and limb off it hit its close in size to a 30.cal bullet

  • Yet, this DOES NOT MEAN that 4,000 Zulus EVER ATTACKED 139 Brits -ENORMOUS INVENTION, created to cover the shame of Isandlwhana.

If REALLY 4,000 ZULUS HAD ATTACKED 139 BRITS, THE 139 BRITS WOULD HAVE BEEN ALL KILLED.

There is NO COMPARISON between Rorke's Drift skirmish and the BATTLE OF CAMARON (1863), where 65 French Foreign Legion fought and resisted against 2,000 Mexican ALL ARMED WITH RIFLES.

  • guau menuda pasada

  • God save the queen indeed!

  • Vick 2242. i mucked up. i pressed spam rather than flippin reply cus im just in a fidgety mood tonite. i appologise.

  • brotherdevil,

Quite a few of us have mucked up somewhere along the line.

  • thanks. no worries.

  • Well at least Us Welsh and The Zulus have one thing in common......we're both bloody good at harmonising musically !

  • lmao excellent

  • 24th were the Warwickshire Regt...

    BUT they were been merged.

So it was intended to change the present regt which was overseas and fill it with welsh as the english midlands were going into the other.

Thus at the time of the battle the Regt was about 20% welsh...

  • Very well done! Some nice images, many with which I'm familiar, yet some new to me. Were you at a re-enactment?

  • God save the Zulu tribe

  • Thanks for your opinion.

  • Some people are proud to be racist ...

  • Superb!

  • thanks for your opinion! God Save the Queen

  • I can't stop playing this. It's brilliant!

  • God save the Queen.... What are you on!!!!

    It's a Welsh regiment!!!!!

  • It certainly is a Welsh regiment but I was born a mixture of Welsh and English. I respect both "Men of Harlech" and the English national anthem equally as both are members of the United Kingdom. Does the UK as a whole mean nothing to you?

  • it wasnt a welsh regiment at rorkes drift it was the 2nd warrickshire regiment who were i grant you made into the south wales boarderers in 1881. but the battle happened in 1879.

hope the video maker made sure he got copyright permission for this. he certainly used a lot of other peoples material

  • Thanks for the info, brotherdevil. I'm always willing to be corrected if I get something wrong. This was a very interesting reply indeed. Cheers!

  • what a load of crap know the history my butt here guys :)

The Royal Welch Fusiliers were a regiment of the British Army, part of the Prince of Wales' Division.

  • try googleing Rokes drift facts like this

the most optimistic search of the regimental roll can find only 19 men of B Company, 2/24th, with any sort of Welsh connection - out of a total strength of more than 80. Of course, there were detachments of numerous other units - including Colonial Volunteers - present at the battle, making a total garrison of about 145. So the Welsh contingent comprised no more than 15% of the total.

  • I thought (from your "yankmarine" name) that you were American. Now I see that you are Spanish. A beautiful country I have visited many times. But please do not confuse my country with the English.

  • The song is called "Men of Harlech" and has different lyrics relating too many different battles (Mostly with the English) going back to 1408. This battle is the Battle of Rorke's Drift fought between the "South Wales Borderers" and the Zulu's, yet you have the lyrics relating to an earlier battle.

  • God Save the Queen is the English national anthem. We do not sing it here. We have our own national anthem. It is called "Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau".

In Spanish: Galés de País de Gales

  • Thanks for your information, it's is very interesting.
