  • Ed Hardy ripped them off !!! lol

  • This is a great song. It's even better over 20 years later, live. Check out LFDH, episode 1. This video sucks!

  • I'm going to start a 12-step program called Greed Anonymous.

  • "enter your text here"

  • Muy buena cancion!:-)

  • This guy was and is a genius!!!!!!

  • Somehow, I managed to miss this song when it came out. Admittedly, I was only 13 then, but the only song that I remember from this album is "Missed Opportunity"... and yet, THIS was supposedly the bigger hit.

  • @Tizmaole I was in high school when this came out in the spring of 88. I remember driving to school and hearing this on the radio all the time.I believe it went to number 3 that yr. Great memories.

  • Daryl and John hit #3 in Billboard, 6-1-88. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • I <3 this track :D

  • @MSLT34 They actually did an album called Live at the Apollo. It was with two of the former Temptations David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks. It was an AWSOME album!!

  • @MountainMama1000 Hey....this is MSLT34....new account..... that is so awesome....I will pick it up. thank you!!

  • I love this song and H&O...but was this video designed to give you a headache or make you barf? Who was the director, i know he wasn't very smart...

  • H2O rule.....and they come from my hometown....Philly reprezentin'

  • That is why Hall & Oats is the most successful duo of all times.

  • Where was G. K. Smith and the other guys in this video? They barely showed T-Bone Wolk!

  • These guys were a hit machine in the 80s. I liked every single they released back then. This was essentially their swan song, after this their popularity waned. Though, some minor hits followed this one.

  • Everything today is sampled ... no one can write their own stuff

  • Wait.....Michael Jackson sounds like Daryl! Let us not get our timelines incorrect.....

  • @E5xrifle no, i don't recall daryl ever sounding like how he did around that 4:40 mark, michaels songs with that sound were easily found on any of his album before 1988 starting with his 1987 album bad.

  • Love it still

  • @MrThisworldismines how, these guys get more women than your whole family, if you don't like the song get out idiot

  • @420Meatwad can I rub my cock between your moms toes?

  • @MrThisworldismines no you can't, do you notice around 4:40 Daryl sounds like Michael Jackson, good song, good band

  • Why did they leave a respectable label like RCA and hit to a pop label like Arista? Don't they know that Clive Davis is just using them for window dressing like he did Aretha Franklin? Pity! Nice tune, by the way.

  • I agree with you !!! completely !!!

  • This was actually 1990 :)

  • @azucho98 no, no, this was 1988

  • @azucho98 Yes, this tune entered The Top 40 on April 23, 1988, and went as high as number 3 on The Pop Charts

  • Wow...the 80's hair....just love it! Thanks for uploading!

  • This song is bangin!!

  • Hall and Oates made some GREAT songs. This is EASILY one of their best tunes EVER IMO!

  • yeah that michael damien BS crapper started it downhill, correct.

  • These guys had a long run. The hits stopped at 88, but their songs will last forever. So many classics.

  • THIS IS THE VERY FIRST SONG HE DOES ON EPISODE 1 TO KICK OFF HIS WEB SHOW....

  • IF YOU TRULY ARE A FAN, YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT "LIVE FROM DARYL'S HOUSE" ON THE WEB, IT IS SOMETHING AWESOME THAT DARYL PUT TOGETHER...

  • Everything your heart desires....is bad for you - no more junk food. This is but one of many great songs from this Dynamic Duo.

  • there is something especial in this song , something that lifts my mood up

  • I FUCKIN LOVE THESE TWO

  • Awesome...

  • Speaking as a child of the 80's, this is one of those Hall & Oates songs where their trademark "rock-n-soul" sound comes shining through.

  • Billboard's #72 hit of '88. Daryl and John's last pop top 10 song. They hit #2 AC, #3 pop, and, #13 soul, in Billboard. God bless!

  • Something about how music "today" is never as good as it was when I was younger. Can I get a top rating now?

  • excellent tune long live the 80;s canada

  • blue eyed soul yes yes...old school nothing like it!

  • LA PUTA MARE ESTE GRUPO

  • Classic as usual. Love Hall and Oates.

  • Who are the 7 ignorant people that gave this a thumbs down????

Probably members of Coldplay and Train cause they got mad when they seen all the comments about how terrible todays music is, and they know they couldnt write a Hall & Oates song if their job depended on it.

  • Some bands come and go . But Hall and Oats not one of them , They here to stay . Their songs are masterpieces . .You can't find good music these days . With one hit after another . Their mens are hall of fame .

  • @belfor21 Hall and Oates were my fave group in the 1980s...

One definitely can't find "natural groups" like this who have had one hit after another.

  • this is the jam ...

  • an example of one of his greatest tracks. a true music master at work

  • ME ENCANTA TODA LA MUSICA DE HALL AND OUTS, TIENE TODO, RITMO, LETRAS, ESCENCIA...A DEMAS HAL ES UN PEDAZO DE CARNE PRECIOSO !!!!

  • 45, Male hetro with three kids but when Daryl says "Ya still want me" I melt!

  • I saw them 10 years ago and have always loved their music. They are of the artists that don't need a recording studio to bring a rich music experience.

  • Dayrl hair is so awsome he just yummy all around

  • Baba Booey plays a mean guitar.

This song brings back a lot of memories from my childhood. Hall & Oates are awesome.

  • what year was this song released?

  • @ny4000 1988

  • Someone, please reply to this comment with original release date of this video and of the other forms of release of this song.

A better reply perhaps is a search term/phrase which will bring up the best site you know of for such information. :) Thank you and good journey!

  • @InfiniteExistance go to their website discography. It's on the album Ooh yeah..youtube won't let me post the link for some reason

  • sometimes when you are looking for a love-bone, dont overlook the obvious

  • This song is from the last great summer or year for that matter for music...1988

  • My husband used to tell me this all of the time. May he rest in peace. I smile whenever I hear this song because he was so right! I love this era of actual music!!

  • Turned it up on a 3000 watt system on a driveby at night, got a lot of thumbs up! what a natural high!

  • Ahh yes, the hair era.. the 80's.

  • GOing to see them tonight in Riverside, Iowa!

  • I am the biggest hall and oates fan there is and this song along with Your Imagination from their Private Eyes album are two of my absolute faves!

  • Daryl Hall and John Oates are Legends!

  • what album is this song from? anyone know?

  • @GEEZmaynn "Everything Your Heart Desires" was released in 1988 as the lead single from the Ooh Yeah! album, the song peaked at number three in the United States.

  • @GEEZmaynn "Everything Your Heart Desires" was released IN 1988 as the lead single from the Ooh Yeah! album, the song peaked at number three in the United States.

  • The Best Pop-Rock Duo of All Time!!

    Long Live The 80's!!!

  • These guys are the GENUINE....shit they GREW UP in Philly!! Daryl was hanging with the Temptations and Smokie and all that! They learned form the MASTERS of R&B!! All this before Tiberlake was even BORN!!

However i do believe Robin Thicke does has so potential.....

  • also an R&B hit making it to #13

  • I'd forgotten just how great this song is. Of course it looks dated. The video was made 22 years ago. Duh. What holds up is the music. Great then, great now. That's the difference bewteen Hall and Oates and a lot of music now, and back then too, for that matter. You won't know or care who Lady Crap Crap was in twenty years. Oh, and Daryl Hall asking the silliest question I've heard. 'So. Do you still want me?'...lmao OF COURSE I DO...lol

  • @Bodicea77 Excuse me, you mean Lady Caca. ;-)

I agree with you, but keep in mind (in the 80s) no one thought Madonna would last.

  • @LAWoman323213 Point taken...lol Oddly enough, I think Madonna may be part of the reason Caca / crap crap doesn't last. It's all old hat now. But then, as PT Barnum said, no one ever lost money underestimating the intelligence of the American public.

  • Nice songwriting. The song seems to be composed of three or four chords played in different combinations. He changes key in the vocal melody without changing the basic chord structure. Elegant.

  • @forshorn Well said. What strikes me about this song and "Ooh Yeah!" in particular is the fact that, while the songs may seem a tad simple on the surface, if one chooses to "listen deeper", so to speak, the arrangements are actually quite complex, as you seem to already know. Thank you for pointing that out.

  • Astonishingly good, no make that fantastic. Hall and Oates bestrode the pop landscape as if they owned the DNA of what makes rock and pop great. Musicianship, song craft and vocals this perfect are the ingredients of genius. The history books will record that they are one of the all time great bands we have ever seen. Every song is full of great hooks and still sounds as fresh today as when they were released. Daryl Hall's voice is one of the best in the business.

  • goood goood song to sing too :))

  • Hit #2 AC, #3 pop in Billboard. God bless!

  • I love these guys !!This is one of my faves!!!!

  • Sing Darryl! I love everything he sings ...

  • They are both fantastic musicians, but Daryl Hall was and is HOT!!!

  • This video looks totally dated today but the tune is just incredible. Check the live 1988 and 1995 versions of it or the LFDH one of 2008: That's music with a big M.

  • Is there a group as good as these guys? I'm sure there are a bunch of people that might have something to say about this, but I think Hall and Oates are one of the most legendary groups in the history of music. They composed and wrote a body of work that stands with the best of them. They are legends and deserve to be recognized as much as many of the lesser groups out there that everyone gushes for. Their songs still hold up!

  • good music right here!

  • i want that leather jacket

  • I want what's IN that leather jacket !

  • The best "Hall & Oates" song ever!!! I would love someone to cover this baby and do it right! I can't understand why "The Bird And The Bee" didn't cover it on their new tribute album...

  • @mikebtko the bird and the bee suck!!! I hate them I love hall and oates but they did a horrible job.

  • @mikebtko I definitely agree. One of the best songs of that era. A remixed version by DJ Tiesto, Ferry Corsten, Paul Oakenfold, or Deadmau5 would be really cool.

  • such a sentimental song never dies love it when they play it at the movie theaters

  • I forgot all about this song. I just loaded it into my iPod. Can't stop listening to it.

  • Please someone say it isn't true about T-Bone...please....

  • It is true.. sadly :(

  • I've read several comments from several artists - and these guys seem to have the most respected comments of all the artists I've read - it says something about them and their following. I went to a concert of theirs and they spent 20 minutes running through a merged version of all their hits, one running into the next - I would love to find that but doubt it exists. I raise my glass to all those fans out there - thanks for making this duo possible.

  • Nice comment. But they're not simply a duo. They lost a friend this week.

  • Marti, you are correct, I was thinking horizontally - these guys all collaborated together to make such incredible music

  • H&O's last pop top 10. Hit #3 in Billboard. Why they fell from pop radio, I dunno. God bless!

  • Tema demasiado bueno calidad total

  • another classic love it

  • Great song! Even though H & O were coming to their "end" on the charts. The lyrics to this song still hold true even now in the second decade of the new Millienium. Do you have everything your heart desires? The greedy bastards that almost broke this great country in 07/08 should listen to this song. Maybe they'll actually learn something from it!!

  • Huh?

  • Wow!!! this video is addicting,i cannot stop watching it. Hall has one of the most beautiful voices. TERRIFIC!!!!

  • It would be everything my heart desires if someone could make music these days just half as good as this. This is truly some of the best material ever made. Thanks for so many memories H & O.

  • @rayzton omgoodness I couldn't agree MORE!!! :)

  • @rayzton I agree 1000% !!!!

  • @Mojolightnin Dumber than DIRT. Yep, that's YOU...

  • @Thirdgen83 Dirt, exponentially smart than shit, the predominant filling in that thick skull of yours.

  • @Mojolightnin Well, everyone knows YOU like Hall & Oates because you are here watching this video...

  • @Thirdgen83 You already told me, you just like them because it rhymes with "ball and scrotes".

  • @Mojolightnin they have had more pussy than you could ever dream of.If they wanted they could have your woman as well, that is if your lucky enough to have a woman, dumbass.

  • @89afvet What the HELL are you talking about??! I am a FAN of these guys!...

  • @Thirdgen83 sorry bud, I fixed it. Peace.

  • @rayzton After 1 year, you get Rebecca Black's Friday!

  • If I am not mistake, their last really big hit.

They dominated the 80s like nobody else, at least in terms of american pop.

  • Not their last hit, no, but second to last. Two years after this one hit, they had "So Close" reach the top 11, I think.

  • Well I guess it's just a matter of how you define "really big" but my def would be top 5 or so. Never heard "so close", maybe because I started tuning out music around '89 because that is when music in general started going from good to sucky.

My personal fav of these guys is "private eyes". Some may not know this, but that was the #1 song in about october 1981 but knocked out by ONJ's "physical". THen in jan 82, "maneater" knocked out Olivia Newton John's "physical" from #1.

  • @rawn4203 Actually it was "I Cant Go For That" that knocked out "Physical" (in January 1982). "Maneater" was #1 in December 1982.

  • @rawn4203 Actually it was "I Cant Go For That" that knocked out "Physical" (in January 1982). "Maneater" was #1 in December 1982.

  • @JavaJoelRadio Nice catch, you are right. ONJ had only a few more hits since physical. I think her last top10 hit - and only top10 hit after physical - was "twist of fate" in december 1983.

  • @rawn4203 I also think that music started a rapid decline around 1989...not sure why but it's quite evident.

  • @nbomodel I personally think it all started the summer of 1989 when a crap song like "rock on" by Mike Damian was the #1 song in the nation. I think that paved the way for all the mediocrity 2 follow. '89 did have a few more good #1s though like "dont wanta lose you now" by Gloria Estefan and Martika's "toy soldier" but as a whole yes 1989 was the begining of the end for good music. Thank god for mp3s and youtube!

  • @rawn4203 I dunno about that. I'd be more inclined to say that 1991 was the year that good music R.I.P.; y'know, what with all those navel-gazing "alt" bands, like Nirvana (shudder), Pearl Jam and the like.

Hopefully, the legends from the 80's, like H&O, will rise up against the flood of bullshit today and make a STRONG, CONCERTED comeback.

  • Dreamtime is a good song but the lyrics were hard to listen too because the volume on the transmission was too low.

  • I mixed up my songs because i stepped away. Everything your heart desires sums up how a person can truly want someone special to be in their life even today.

  • Missed Opportunity was a great song for the 80's but the words still have a lot of meaning for people of today in the first decade of the 21st century.

  • Hall & Oates: Textbook proof that white boys have soul. Listen to that high note Hall hits just after the spoken bridge. Damn. Anyone care to disagree? Just listen to this tune.

  • this song can turn a bad day good I wish i had every thing my desired like love

  • daryl hall your still hottt!

  • Love this cut.

  • This is the way to expose people to this music. 1989 THIS came out. I remember people/parents acting like Bret was the anti-Christ. Man, those were good times.

  • Great song

  • Always loved how Daryl says "I ain't gonna let you go, no no" and continues to say no until the song fades completely. Made me believe he never did give up.

Also, the video uses a slightly different (remixed) version than the album. I was never able to find it.

  • HALL IS A SEXY BEAST

  • Comment removed

  • hall and oates are the best their music just sends me onto a frenzy when i here it i just want to jump up and dance and im 14 loved for a long time even though i didn't know the group name i still listened

  • man, what a song to cruise by in the summer time.....window down, nowhere to go and not in a rush to get there. ...great time and thanks for posting..watching in HQ

  • this is the best song ever of all times

  • Incredible song. Incredible singer.

  • The feeling is not unnecessary - Daryl is an outrageously gorgeous man with an outstanding voice. What can we do? Wonderful video. Thank you so much for posting. XX

  • This brings me right back to the days of my humongous crush on Daryl Hall...

Brilliant song from a fabulous album...'Ooh Yeah!'

Daryl's voice still sends shivers down my spine and gets me feeling all unnecessary all over....

  • Thank you for posting a high-level video of one of my favorite Hall and Oates songs! "If you had everything your heart desires, would you still want more?" Considering the recent economic turmoil caused by people who were consumed by greed and for whom too much was never enough, the song poses a timely question.

  • what you want is what you have heeeeyyy haaaayyy AWESOME

  • I can't imagine anybody NOT loving this song...I mean...this song will put you in a GREAT mood...in June of 1988 Hall&Oats took this song to #3 on the pop chart and remains one of their best songs yet

  • they're the best at making hits....another great song!

  • Comment removed

  • These guys are the genuine article. They have the talent, charisma, discipline, and love for what they do more so than anyone who's in the music game today. I don't think chart positions, 50,000 seat venues, and MTV can account for their longevity or so called lack of success these days.

The satisfaction of not being a manufactured image and commodity is what made them great and their unrivaled talent keeps them great.

  • @MetuNtr I second everything you just said. Thanks for saying it!

  • @MetuNtr I know right, they make it looks so easy, at being the best..:)

  • @MetuNtr yep, been awhile since i heard this one...it made me realize how crappy current stuff is, and how unbelievably good this was..and still is !

  • Great Vid-Great Song-They are Jammin'!!!5*****'s

  • one HOT foocking song, every sound and move was excellent by those two as usual for them

  • underated song, wish it was played more on the radio like some of their other hits

  • this was a very underated song just as his solo song called dreamtime these guys have always been remarkable this song here was wrote to his wife when they where going throught there divoice

  • puts this song and its lyrics in a totally different (and appropriate) light - thanks for sharing

  • This song is sooooooo underrated and over looked on Radio Today. This song is kick ass and I love Hall and Oates and this song is from 87 or 88 ... sadly I dunno if this track charted... Love old school pop/soul music!!

  • Ooh Yeah! was the name of the album it was released in 1988 and yes " Everything Your Heart Desires" did make the Top 10. Hall and Oates fan here .

  • very very very nice...

  • this song rocks

  • this is one fine song

  • If Daryl every wants to get rid of that jacket, I'll be more than happy to take it off his hands!

  • it is a ass kickin jacket!!!!
