Accidents happen are we going to throw all kids in state care who get pregnant at a young age? We can also blame schools, and media for exposing our kids to sex. Sorry, polygamy, bigamy, are all contrary to not only Gods way but moral, ethical and human nature as well can cause dysfunction in society. The scripture you talk of was taken from "oral tradition" that spanned aprox 10,000 years. Men had more than one wife back then, because they did not understand even how babies were conceived (other than act of sex) or morals. They lived totally in the flesh, thinking women were their servants. Jesus forbade this due to the harms such a life could lead.

"Brainwashing" is a relative term. Everyone gets 'control' from someone such as Parents, School, Governemnt, Work, etc etc. You are taught what to say and what to think. I do think that all underage girls who are pregnant have been horribly let down somewhere in their lives. And that is certainly a form of abuse. From parents, or (sex saturated) society that feels giving the pill to kids is fine or promoting sex before marriage. Ideally I would like to see values of no premarital sex or at least until engaged, and encouraging our youth to become all they can be, get educated and having choices to move freely about society, but not free for all but reponsible.
I truly don't have a problem with a community style life, especially with the outwards appearances of this group. However, I am well read on the Bountiful group and some about this one. OK just to clarify, you all are confusing two completely different religions. Fundamentalist Mormonism is not the same as the "Mormon" church .. or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This news report is dealing with Fundamentalist Mormons, who have their own beliefs about marriage i.e. Polygamy. They believe that Polygamy is ordained of God.. the L.D.S. church does not condone it. To say these two churches are the same is like saying Catholics and Buddhists are the same also.

I never said I was perfect did I? Some of these wives got their children back because the state really does not have evidence that abuse is going on other than being married at a young age. Some states allow underage marriages. They will be sued just liked I threatened to sue in order to leave these people try to hold you hostage past eighteen. I don't hate people I just don't have to agree with what they are doing, and a majority of them do these things.

Accidents happen are we going to throw all kids in state care who get pregnant at a young age? We can also blame schools, and media for exposing our kids to sex. I feel uncomfortable as a parent to have my children go to school, and learn about sex. That in my mind is abuse if these kids are not mature enough to handle these discussions, or feel bad about it. It can emotionally damage them. All the state cares about is the money they will recieve from all these children in the system.

I agree, but if you realized that this is most definitely based in scripture, then one will never get to the bottom of such deviancy. Until politicians realize the base and address immediately with proper legislation or laws it will continue and lives (in my esteem) will keep getting destroyed. The thing that those who are raised in polygamous households, they know nothing else. The family structure (and I use that term loosely here) is built around that. However, women who are not raised like that and enjoy one spouse cringe at the thought of sharing their spouse. It is harsh and cruel punishment to share a spouse and then have all the complications of different mothers with children of one father. In addition this group is heavily interbred and they are suffering for it now.

Sorry, polygamy, bigamy, are all contrary to not only Gods way but moral, ethical and human nature as well can cause dysfunction in society. The scripture you talk of was taken from "oral tradition" that spanned aprox 10,000 years. Men had more than one wife back then, because they did not understand even how babies were conceived (other than act of sex) or morals. They lived totally in the flesh, thinking women were their servants. Jesus forbade this due to the harms such a life could lead.

You seem to defend polygamy quite strongly while not realizing the enormous harms. It is all unbelieveably wrong and must be stopped. Harms on girls, women and children. I do think that all underage girls who are pregnant have been horribly let down somewhere in their lives. And that is certainly a form of abuse. From parents, or (sex saturated) society that feels giving the pill to kids is fine or promoting sex before marriage. Ideally I would like to see values of no premarital sex or at least until engaged, and encouraging our youth to become all they can be, get educated and having choices to move freely about society, but not free for all but reponsible.

I truly don't have a problem with a community style life, especially with the outwards appearances of this group. However, I am well read on the Bountiful group and some about this one. In particular when one man has power over every aspect of others lives - money, property, wives, who marries whom and when and giving other wives to other men if he is not pleased. I also believe fully that one man and woman joining as meant, to truly love, honour and cherish, collaborate, becomes the most powerful unit on earth.
