Its illegal in ALL states unless you have a permit and tax stamp, check federal laws. Its an NFA item and would have to be stamped, pretty dumb but hey they threaten you with quarter million dollar fines and jail time so screw it not worth losing your rights.

Do you mean the front barrel handguard or the vertical grip? I know the verticle is a no, no but not sure about the habdguard as the AK and AR pistols all have handguards.

as long as you are legal to own the gun and file the paper work with atf and pay $200.00 its legal..how ever state and local laws do vary
