  • Lol I love the first snip. The song lmfao! But this is true!!!!!!

  • This is true

  • I'm not American but I see the same pattern in my country. Our President removed millions of dollars worth for public schools. The top public school in the country spiked up in tuition to maintain quality education and now only well to do people can afford. Less fortunate people settle to schools with underpaid teachers who are mostly have no appetite to do well because of the low salaries. This just worsens the gap between the rich and the poor.

  • Haha I loved the first snip it of that song made me laugh but it's true

  • True, my parents aren't even from the US and they know more about America than I do. AND I WAS BORN IN THE US AND WENT TO SCHOOL TO "LEARN" ABOUT AMERICA.

  • he's right i skated through highschool without really doing much, my classes were super duper easy and they were suppose to be honors classes.

  • this video was really informative! and i think students can't learn because of how they're parents brought them up.

  • This really makes me sit down and thin about the situation in ways I never did before

  • wow...just...wow...unbelievable

  • This really oped my eyes 0_0,this is happeneing everywhere ,i mean i sit down with my mum and dad and nan and tell them what ive learnt at school and theyre like ..... youve only just learnt that?its mad!xxx

  • :l

  • i live in canada so does this apply to me :P lmaoo

  • in Russia the situation is much worse

  • We're Not Getting Stupider Now Thats The Type Of Negative Thinking Thats Pressuring Us

  • I am sorry to say I think people are getting stupider. I have recently put up a video, and I am very disturbed at how many people have asked me to explain arguments that were already put in the video.

  • I think we need to stop fucking around as a union and be like the Chinese go to school day and night.! But that pic of obama kinda made me mad..

  • i think students can't learn because of the bad education of their parents

  • We need to get are labor back to 30% manufacturing

If we dont we will have an unbalalced labor which will screw are economy.

Then we really wont be able to pay are debts.

Guess what! China has debts too.

  • It's not just America it's the entire Western World. Everybody is stupid. Turn the television on that's where people get their idea's and opinions.

  • I'm glad Michael Savage is around. Every generation needs a Hitler, and he certainly fills that role. And he's right. Kids these days aren't learning anything in college. Kids should take a note out of Savage's book: learn to use fear to take advantage of people.

  • GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF SOVIET SOCIALST OF AMERICA!

  • Look up a final exam in 1895 and see if you or anyone can answer it correctly. Keep in mind that there were no calculators or computers back then. Nor were they allowed to do research.

  • Irony. A propagandist with a hard on for perpetual war calling other people dumb. What a snob.

  • @amartin7889 He is pretty schizophrenic when it comes to the war, one day he seems to be against the wars in the middle east the next day he is supporting it. I think as a typical paleo-conservative he has isolationist tendencies and is against the war but as a jew he just hates muslims so much that he can't help himself.

  • For 60 years Americans have been robbed blind by both the Republicans and Democrats but the Americans are just too stupid to vote for a third party.

Some states have a76% drop out rate

1 in 3 Americans are illiterate1in6 on food stamps

these are third world ghetto numbers

and that is exactly where America is headed.

only desperate changes that are repulsive cans ave America now

like the extermination of those who fall in the above categories.

This will not be done due to obvious reasons

  • And you think the Republicans are going to save the day. Wait and see.

  • If anybody pays attention to the media, it seems like the progressives and liberals are using deception through the media and the web in order to dumb people down. For example, if you try to search up something important on the internet, all they show is JUSTIN BEIBER, Charlie Sheen, and idiocy. Nothing intellectually stimulating is important anymore. I just looked up an article on wikipedia, and they just deleted viable information to suit their PC agend. "Let's not offend people". STUPID!

  • John Taylor Gato

  • you can certify that you see someone’s “birth certificate document” but you cant certify when that person was born based on only looking at there “birth certificate document.”

“Did she tell you she saw a red dog? Yes. Did she see a red dog? I don’t know. Did you witness her look at a red dog outside of your imagination? No.”

  • safety, hygiene, defense, illness prevention, gardening, sanitation, electricity, plumbing, mechanics, emergency preparedness, sewage treatment, construction, recycling, nutrition, food safety, toothpaste production, std and pregnancy prevention, birth control, chemistry , fire fighter, water filtration, air purification, health, engineering, tech, science, microscopic, nano, doctor, surgeon, medical research, medication production, medical equipment production, microscope production. crp.

  • the goal of reading writing and videos tends to be showing people stories instead of teaching them facts thru there witness and expirence. we need self directed learning, and to expirence and witness real 3d automation and objects. learn how things work by watching and makeing the real thing. how to make a microscope. they cant learn if a cow is real from watching a video of it.

  • Oh my Gosh. Savage is proof that America is dumb, dumb enough to listen to this dumbass

  • @Gregoryde who Obama, he's right though, people used to learn more by 9th grade you kids today are dumb as a bunch of sticks

  • I've learned that the more books you read, the smarter you are, the more you realize how the people around you are know-nothings, and the more you want to kill yourself. "With increase of knowledge, comes increase of sorrow."

  • @DonnyDeutschisBigBro That sounds about right. It sort of feels like being the last of a dying breed.

  • @DonnyDeutschisBigBro What books have you read? Instead of feeling disappointed in your peers, why don't you spread your channels either with a blog or YouTube videos?

  • Oh yeah, we are dumbed down, but Michael "Savage" isn't going to help you with that. He blames the "liberals", that's just a distraction. The real enemy is the bankers and they own 100 percent of the repugs. Left and right is just a distraction, the real war is between rich and poor. So Savage is just a tool whether intentional or not.

  • I'm a liberal and I don't like obama. AT ALL!

  • LMAO @ the Obozo outfit. Fucking hilarious!

  • Republicans? McCain Palin? Are you kidding? America has truly dumbed down. America's insistance in not learning about themselves, either through geography or history - has contributed to a nation of morons, endlessly searching for self-gratification, and purposely avoiding hard work and familty values. Values which once made America great.

  • My whole family voted for mccain, and we all new obama would suck ass, we were right, cant wait for 2012 election, hes gone

  • @sgtcool5005 isn't it funny how Obama did what everyone was afraid McCain would do. The only difference between these puppets is skin color.

  • @wildirishmic and how is that?

  • @sgtcool5005 well the war in Afgahnistan, for one and um wasn't everybody afraid McCain would further damage an already crippled economy due to overspending???AND here we are bribing Israel with 20 f35s..I'm not even going to elaborate on why that enrages me...but I dont believe in left or right...its bullshit.

  • @wildirishmic Obama only one because of his skin color

  • @sgtcool5005 yeah, pretty much but Im ok with that because now I dont have to listen to this bullshit about how beaten down the black man is by the white man and cant get a job so he has to sell crack to go to college because of the evil white devil, boo hooo hoo. We put a black man in office so shut that shit up all of you.

  • @wildirishmic this whole black supremacy trend thats going around is annoying people can say the words "black pride" but if you say "white pride" your automatically in the kkk

  • Michael Savage is the dumbing down of America. College use to be free in California. How long has it been since Savage went to College? I went and most of it was very useful. Send Savage back to College to get a brain. Oh, wait, that would require a College Educated Doctor to do? Maybe we can find some Voodoo Priest for Savages since he doesn't feel educated Americans are useful anymore. Whatever it takes to fix this guys brain.

  • @ipegasus I get useful info on youtube. If I go to college I want an education and its true I have alot of friends who went to college, had socialism shoved up there asses and can't tell you what caused the depression.

  • This is one time I agree with Savage, that society is being dumbed down.

  • It is sad that the first black president (everyone thought this was the end to racism) had to be such a failure.

  • The difference between liberal Americans and Michael Savage, who has made his career on talking garbage against liberals, is that Savage learnt nothing from the Universities he went to. All that he learnt is how to talk nonsense incessantly. He considers spreading lies against liberals and abusing minorities as virtues. His favorite pass time is to berate those who rubbish his warped sense of reality. He talks authoritatively and shamelessly on the topics about which he knows very little.

  • @fidellse alright, since he is constantly spreading lies about liberals it should be easy for you to to list me at least 3 lies he told on air.

  • @maffoid Everything that Savage talks is garbage. Lies about Obama as a communist, about minorities, about Palestinians, about liberals. Savage is a lunatic to say the least; do not take him seriously.

  • @fidellse why is it so hard to directly answer a question?

  • @maffoid Why is it hard so for you to discern what is garbage and what is not.

  • @fidellse lol I am just asking you a question, I have never told you what my opinion about him is, only want to know at least 3 made up things he said on air.

  • @maffoid Since you know what my opinion about Savage is, now you tell me three good or bad things about him.

  • @fidellse wow you would make a great politician, evading my question time after time lol.

  • @maffoid Now you are showing your true colors. Do not pretend, dude, as if you are so naive and do not know anything about Savage.

  • @fidellse lol you are making my day

  • @fidellse If you're so smart, why don't you call him and educate him?

  • @eric5335 You are one more dumass supporter of that inane Savage.

  • Obama is terrible. I liked J.F. Kennedy a lot better. Obama's smile and supporters have to go.

  • The standards are so dumbed down all over. My math IQ is a 121 and my overall intelligence is above average but I struggle and failed a few upper level courses because I have a learning disability while lazy, mediocre, and carelass students like these kids can go to college because they can memorize things, sleep with professors, and get scholarship money that they don't deserve. At least in the real world, hard work and talent matters and they will get you further than a piece of paper.

  • I hate to tell you morons that George W. screwed you over more than Obama ever could. He was an illiterate clod that was elected TWICE! As Paul McCartney recently said, at least we now have a president who knows what a library is.

  • hey Dummy...Paul McCartney never made it past the 5th grade what fucken library does he know of?? Obama spent 3 times more money in over 1 year than Bush did in 8 years...Obama waited 52 days for oil to ruin a beautiful ocean called the Gulf of Mexico, refused foreign assistance to help clean up, prohibited local private boats from helping (b/c they didnt have life vests)....unemployment now is 10% better than 15% (dumb obama quote).......i hope your not American

  • @Malendrinu are you sure about that?

  • It's funny.....these are the same people who cheers Sarah Palin. I am not going to point out the irony here!

  • Perhaps it is GOD that has given us what we deserve as Greedy Selfish Ugly Americans. Open up the Death Camps were coming in as fast as we can.

  • Um, what does a "liberal media" have to do with how dumb kids are?

  • What does Obama have to do with dumb Ameriacns? Bush is the one that was a C average student,

  • RE: im 12 and i listen to Savage. Im not brainwashed like everyone eles.

  • Obama is going down. Enjoy your stay while you can Obama administration. A one term president you will be. Don't get too comfortable though, you'll be moving out soon! OBAMA SUCKS!

  • Comment removed

  • Today I ran into some young people that made me embarassed to be young myself.19 The first thing they did when they saw me was insult me because I was wearing a button up shirt with a collar. I shouldn't be suprised because these losers were dressed like a Pearl jam tribute band. Then they say I must never get laid because I'm "serious", as if mastering the Jay and Silent Bob look makes you irresistable.I'm assuming they're unemployed, at best high school graduates, and live with their parents.

  • This is the vocabulary of a teen: Like, totally, honestly, seriously, gay, fag, the "N" word, the "F" word, anything disgusting, anything sexual and anything offensive.

  • Michael Savage is a 1000 times smarter than obambo.

  • no you are wrong

michael savage is 100,000 times smarter than obama

  • You're both wrong! He is ONE BILLION TIMES SMARTER.

You're all idiots and at least twice as dumb as Savage if not more so. Us sane people are laughing at you.

  • @blt40 Wow, did you go to College, at all? Obama is very well educated. Unfortunately, he is working for the Democratic Party and not for the people. The Republicans are even worse so don't go banging that drum for me. Either way, America is still in an illegal war and our citizens are being used for the profit of politicians and money grubbing, lazy, selfish market bandits. "That ain't working.." as a band wisely pointed out. "Money for nothing and the chicks for free"...

  • @ipegasus he went to a kenya college.

  • @blt40 Quit insulting Savage!

  • Savage speaks the truth. He is correct, you Americans are stupid. Voting for someone because of the color of their skin?

    LOL!! Good luck!

  • Love Love Michael!

  • Of course...

and what is your proof besides your words?

  • What is Savage's proof besides his words? Are you fucking kidding me?

  • Stooge!

  • savage for president and border patrol czar..lol

  • No more Czars.

They are unaccountable to no one but the President and we don't need a dictatorship along with a Civilian Army with as much power as the US Military.

  • Idiot. You were, are, and always will be fuckin' nada.

  • Standardized testing is what dumbed this country down. I am teacher and we have to teach kids how to pass a test. We have to teach kids how to bubble in the correct answer. You ask kids to reflect on a concept like federalism, checks and balances, and the rule of law, they cannot do it. Our students have difficulty in critical thinking and espress their thoughts. Another thing is is this, we have to educate everbody and other nations don't do that.

  • Mostly all colleges are liberal and they indoctrinate the youth into believing this country is the cause of all the problems.F-ck the Libtards.

  • the goverment wants us dumb so we cant see there nazi like plans starting to roll out

  • As in you agree with me, or you want more information?

  • Well we go to school forever and never seem to learn anything. Study the curriculum of what 8th graders learned at the beginning of the 1900's. Most in college don't know what they knew.

And affirmative action, and woman firsterism didn't help either.

College standards had to be lowered so women could compete, and we all suffered.

  • @Verlch HELLO.....WOMEN ARE THE MOST OPPRESSED PEOPLE EVER!!! I HATE TO TELL YOU, BUT THEY ARE SMARTER THAN MOST MEN & GET PAID FAR LESS FOR MORE WORK!!! MY DAD WORKED FOR EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK IN THE 60'S AND IT HASN'T HAPPENED YET. I AGREE WITH THE LEARNED 8TH GRADERS OF THE 1900'S...WE COULD NOT PASS THEIR GRAD. EXAM THESE DAYS AS THE 'DUMBING DOWN' OF AMERICA HAS BECOME AN EPIDEMIC. WOMEN NEVER HAD 'FIRSTERISM' (THAT'S NOT A WORD)...BLACKS DID.

  • what women work in jobs close to home, that are safe. they work less, and should get paid less on average.

men are larger, stronger and quicker. we are going to get paid more.

they want equal outoomes void of equal effort

  • hitballfooter

USA education WAS best in the world some 50 years ago, since that it was slowly going down.

  • We can blame the Public socialist schools and the "everybody can win" we don't allow for any "losers."

Now all it takes is a pulse to graduate high school.

I have even heard of high schools that are now Pass only. Take the test once and pass, take the test twice and fail, you pass anyways.

We are a nation run by hippies, that do not hold people to high standards.

  • The higher education still is. It's our high school education that sucks.

  • I concur and I taught 2 years on the high school level.

  • So they make it less challenging to earn a degree or pass a class?

Also, I still don't understand why higher education in the U.S is considered by far the best in the world if it's "dumbing kids down".

  • Well I am 16 so I haven't been to college yet. How do they dumb people down and why is the U.S tertiary education system considered one of the best if this is true?

  • The United States has the best tertiary education in the world. How are colleges dumbing people down? I am not sure why Michael Savage thinks this.

  • Well if you are a woman or minority, not only do you get to the front of the class, you get the choose of the best jobs, with the best pensions. That is if the pensions don't mysteriously disappear.

I'm begging to think IRA's, pensions, and the State lotto are all for suckers. That is so long as the money is returned upon retirement. It is a great way of wealth confiscation.

We would be far better off, and more secure controlling our own money.

  • LONG LIVE MICHEAL SAVAGE !

  • Does he believe in evolution?

  • Yes, very much so. He finds the "Intelligent Design" people intolerable.

  • Now that's interesting! How do these two most conflicting views co-exist in his, already fragmented, psyche?

That's a massive conflict of interests!

A belief in Evolution represents 'leftist thought'- - primates are our ancestors! And our world TRILLIONS of years old!

    Whilst creationism represents 'wingnutter-talking-snake-beliefs'.

No wonder the guy's got so many psychological disorders...Doesn't know if he's coming or going! Doesn't know if he should brandish a gun or powder-puff! lol

  • I may be incorrect but I think Savage explained his viewpoints as follows: Although Savage does not exactly know how we came about, he thinks, to the best of my memory, that our creator designed us to evolve independently (from our creator). In other words, our creator has designed us so that species undergo evolution in terms of their interactions with their environment. So, Savage, if I remember correctly, has a kind of hybrid viewpoint about this issue.

  • Makes sense to me! As a Pagan I believe in a Divine Force, Mother Nature, who gave birth to the Earth & the animals that in due course gave birth to us! There definitely is a Higher Force, I believe, call it the Goddess, God, Universal Spirit, Godhead. And that powerful energy when harnessed by Nature continually creates and evolves. Well, that's my philosophy, anyway. And it does make more sense than random selection & a dog-eat-dog stance.

So, in a way, I can see where he is coming from.

  • So, I think he believes it is possible that our creator created the process of evolution.

  • Well that's one good thing, but "gay agenda"?

Anti-Cannabis? Those are the 2 issues this guy needs to rethink.

  • Gay Agenda? He's talking about the perverted gays who walk the streets of San Fransisco while wearing cockrings alongside pre-school aged children. It's the Folsom Street Fair. Do you NOT have a problem with that? Type "Folsom Street Fair children" into Google Images to see what I'm talking about. That's vulgar.

  • Ok that may be a bit fucked up but that's 1 school. Fuck let them be gay, they can do whatever they please so long as they do not infringe upon anyone's rights. That"s the core principle of America, our founding fathers would be disgusted to see anything but that principle put forth above all else. Whether it comes to drugs, prostitution, or gay rights; it comes down to people take of themselves and the government takes care of other people that infringe on your rights. Pursuit of happiness.

  • It's about the pursuit of deviancy and degeneracy (in your case).

  • And your a ridiculous moral crusader that other people in America have a RIGHT to ignore you and a right to not to have to abide by your PERSONAL moral standards. Not everyone has to be perfect saints, this is stated clearly in constitutional law. I smoke pot in my house, it doesn't effect you. I pay a woman for something thats perfectly legal to give away free, it doesn't effect you. I'm a man marring another man who wants to marry me, IT DOESN'T EFFECT YOU, only your own PERSONAL morals.

  • For you to impose personal morals through laws means your infringing on my right to happiness, whatever the physical vehicle of happiness, SO LONG AS IT DOES NOT INFRINGE UPON ANOTHER'S PHYSICAL RIGHTS, IT'S LEGAL!!!!!!!

  • Wow! You sure are busy. In case I didn't mention it before, I don't hate gays and I have nothing against civil unions or even gay marriage itself. Shocker, huh? Why not preserve relationships? If you set a higher standard, you should get a so-called "better outcome." Set a lower standard and you may very well get a worse outcome. It sort of becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

  • Savage himself even said that he has nothing against what you do in the privacy of your own home. Go to 910knew's website and download hour 1 or hour 2 of the podcast. And that was my position even well before Savage ever said so. I don't ditto everything Savage believes. So don't accuse me of that. But I find a huge problem is that the mainstream culture has brought the BEDROOM into the LIVING ROOM. At one point in America, the media used to encourage people to move upward, not into the gutter.

  • That was the podcast from yesterday which is June 05 2009.

  • And I'm not even against marijuana usage. What I hate though is that you guys flaunt your alternative lifestyle. You brag about it. Tease people with it. Demonize people like me for not adopting it. I think legalizing marijuana would empty our prisons significantly. I don't like it that America has the highest rates of incarceration in the world. I hate the fact that men and women (who have simply used drugs) are now being sexually abused in prison and isolated from everyday life.

  • Funny thing about savage is that he is such a right winger.. but he plays alot of 60s leftist music,,

  • pegelatrin!! Thank so much for that! I've been wondering about that myself for some time now! weiner has the CHEEK to play heavy metal (a symbol of diversity, liberty, wildness, naked dancing, drugs, freedom, sexual freedom) to introduce himself, as though he were some kind of cool progressive dude. Then the ol' rat comes on. Who's the band, I wonder? What rock-band would lend their name to this hate-monger? Probably 'The Christian Gunsters' or something to that effect. lol

  • savage was like a berkley hippie when he was young.. He hung around with allan Ginsburg when he was a teenager. He becoma conservative first when he got older.

The song is Strangers with The Kinks.

  • Really? The Kinks!! He used to hug trees, practice homeopathy, loved plants, used herbs for healing, cared about everyone. Loved his neighbours. Was kind & compassionate. From homeopath to sociopath. It's rather sad, really. In another incarnation, with his knowledge of the healing arts, he would've made quite a good progressive ol' hippi or shaman. People can really change overnight. Scary.

  • Dont think im an anti-education man lol no mate you sound real-brainy

  • Actually fluoride in the water Mercury in the gov shots. Need I go on. The cdc states clearly that fluoride consumption will reduce your IQ by 20 to 30 points. Now go to walmart look at the baby water and what does it say extra fluoride for babies. Hitler did it to his people but hay keep making fun of a man who's right. I bet you never even educate yourself on what your putting in your body and you have the nerve to pick at others. You have serious brain damage.

  • Jesus if i only had a pound for every American who even though speaks English from birth cannot understand the basic concept that is known as British Irony or sarcastic humour, ok basically i wasn't disagreeing with him i was simply stating the obvious of the guy boasting about his educational prowess but not being able to put it in a coherent sentence which matches his suppose great education !

  • LOL no brits round des parts. Hay sorry I misunderstood but shouldn't hum...make ya laugh?

  • Yes, because if even the smartest person in the world uses one mis word, misses one piece of punctuation, or misspells one word, then all that lifetime of education is completely undone... Kind of a limited form of logic there... That's like saying Einstein was a complete moron because he couldn't do most math equations... And we all know who he is, and where he stands in the history books, yes?

  • Merriam Webster's Unabridged Dictionary lists stupider as an entry. Savage is not incorrect. Just because he did not pick a so-called irregular superlative like "good, better, best" does not mean he's wrong. Look it up before you criticize him.

  • In QUEEN'S ENGLISH, not 'bastardized' english', one says: "We are becoming MORE stupid as a nation." Or

"He is MORE hateful than he was yesterday.' Not "He's 'hatefuller' than yesterday!" Or "'weiner is MORE ignorant than a blown lightbulb.

Not 'weiner's 'ignoranter' than a blown bulb".

I have heard 'stupider' before. From my two year old nephew! LOL!!!

  • "Stupid, stupider, and stupidest" are acceptable in America. Look it up! Merriam Webster is the standard in the USA. The OED is not!

Savage said "stupidest" at 0:08! Do you believe that is incorrect too?

Savage is an American. He speaks AMERICAN English.

You mislabel Savage as incorrect because he did not use an IRREGULAR form of a comparative or superlative. You mistakenly believe irregular comparatives and superlatives are superior to the regular ones.

  • Well-pointed out at 0.08 the use of 'stupidest' is not usually appropriate use of the English language. The English say: "Stupid; more stupid; & the most stupid."

However, as you now point out, America does have it's own 'american english'. I acknowledge & respect that, & think it's rather petty to go on about it, myself included here. Not worth us splitting hairs over it. I know I started it but there are more important things for us yt geniuses to be commenting on here, eh? ;-)

  • You focused too much on Savage's grammar and wanted to find irony but failed in the end. Your first comment earned you *negative* 6 points.

"...you make me laugh...you blow your own trumpet about your education, and in one breath you say: "I'm all for education, I'm an educated, blah, blah, college, university, blah blah...then you immediately use the word 'STUPIDER'. Not quite as 'educated' as you'd have us believe, eh? LOL!"

You made an ass of yourself. I'm glad you now recognize it!

  • It's just my expectations of a university educated person were aimed too high. British habit. If it had been the error of a poster I wouldn't have been so nit-picky. But I was confusing him with an Oxford University graduate, & thus, found his command of the English language lacking. But now I know he's speaking american english. A seperate language! Going on about it would be like bullying someone with a Spanish accent for not speaking English properly. That's all. It's cruel to do that.

  • I'm glad you recognize that. I'll retract all of my insults. You're not an "ass." You brought up some good points. I referenced the OED and did not find "stupider" or even "stupidest."

  • But I don't enitrely agree with you about Savage. To say that he went from "from homeopath to sociopath" ignores the fact that people can evolve politically and intellectually. Savage is an intelligent man (according to me) who has responded appropriately to his enviroment (in the USA). There is an intense hatred of the white male at American Universities (and in grades K through 12). It's gotten so bad that I have first-handedly seen feminazis relish over the molestation of male children!

  • Yes, that is a bit harsh. We all choose our own paths in life & he has chosen his. What comes out of it no one knows. We just have to grow in our own ways, I guess.

  • Savage used to be a social worker and he'd have to deliver checks to bums who lived in better apartments and who had better furniture than he did. He really had to fight to earn a living while the minorities were being given reparations in the form of affirmative action. It was an unfair advantage. I myself see it occurring today in the places I have worked. Racism is bidirectional and most people don't recognize it. That's why we need someone like Savage to speak out against the race-haters!

  • WIKIPEDIA:Savage states that his opinions on welfare were partly shaped by his first job out of college as a social worker[15] although, having no earned degree in professional social work, he was not acting as a social worker but was more likely a caseworker of some type employed in a public assistance agency or office. He described one incident in which his supervisor had him deliver a check to a welfare client to furnish their apartment, while his apartment was furnished with cardboard boxes.

  • He's had a lot of life experiences. What puzzles me is when we suffer in life we usually grow into people of humility and empathy. Compassion becomes a part of us. I feel he lacks empathy & always seems to be on the defensive. He said he grew up with neglect, hatred & anger, so maybe that's all he knows. He associates gentleness with weakness or just doesn't know how to express himself with understanding. We are all born good. It's just our behaviour towards others that sometimes lets us down.

  • In my opinion, Savage is the antidote for the feeble-minded sheeple who are too darn afraid to speak out against whatever angers them. I feel there is too much empathy for the minority and that the media (and especially the schools) are shitting and pissing on the white culture and European culture (and the West in general). Listen to NPR and you'll know what I'm talking about. Savage serves a purpose. In the USA multiculturalism is all about eroding our traditional values and beliefs.

  • Thank you very much, & I also retract every insulting comment I made.

Now how am I going to savagely critisize savage with your lovely vibes floating about the channel? :-)

  • That's good. Too many people use Savage as a scapegoat. They judge him harshly before reading up on him. I haven't read all of your comments but you seem like a reasonable person. Some controversial comments he made were said in jest. Special education fraud takes place in the USA. It is financially advantageous for schools to label children autistic or impaired so that they can receive more money. Savage did not wisely choose his words but his loyal listeners knew where his heart was.

  • The problem is when you are in the public eye/ear! you can't afford to say things in jest. Y'know the old British adage: 'Many a true word spoken in jest'? We have to take responsibility for every word we utter in life --words have consequence.

And in his position as a radio spokesperson he should choose his words wisely at all times. I'm sure even he knows that every action has an appropriate & corresponding reaction. He expresses himself in a defensive, rather than open-hearted & wise way.

  • Caveat emptor. I believe the responsibility rests on the shoulders of the audience members.

"his words wisely at all times."

He broadcasts 3 hours Monday through Friday. This lends itself to fatigue and therefore sloppy thinking at times.

"He expresses himself in a defensive, rather than open-hearted & wise way. "

He wouldn't be #3 in the USA if he didn't present himself in that manner. He's an educated man, educator, (but most of all) an entertainer.

  • First sorry I meant to click reply & clicked thumbs down by mistake. Can it be undone?

On savage, I don't believe the responsibility rests on the shoulders of the audience. Some vulnerable people are naive & get taken in by the virulent 'chat' of others. ('cult leaders', paedophiles, pervert priests & 'rabble rousers', even violent hip-hop singers!!)

It's the person who 'has the stage' as such, who must be responsible for what they're putting out, as they have the power to INFLUENCE others!!

  • Again, you advocate the regulation of speech. You're micromanaging speech! You disagree with Savage and are trying to silence him. If a liberal person were in his position, you'd have no problem with it. Case closed.

"First sorry I meant to click reply & clicked thumbs down by mistake. Can it be undone"

    Click thumbs up! LOL

  • Part of human civility is to regulate our speech. Even when talking to our friends we have to think first b4 we speak.

So if a teacher tells her class we all come from Venus then those *children* are responsible for being taught those untruths? Not the teacher.

Many people, unless they have strong, extremely independent, minds, believe what's been put out in the media as gospel truth. 'The World's gonna end in 2006!' Hundreds in U.S. believed that one 'cos a passionate voice 'said it'!

  • "Many people, unless they have strong, extremely independent, minds, believe what's been put out in the media as gospel truth."

I do agree with you on that.

"Even when talking to our friends we have to think first b4 we speak."

Yes. It's important that people speak freely but responsibly.

As I said before, it's quite clear that Savage uses hyperboles. And it's insulting to suggest that his audience (or any audience) as a whole cannot recognize this.

  • When the Fairness Doctrine was followed in the United States, it was because there weren't a overabundance of media outlets. Today, we have TV, radio, blogs, newspapers, and so on. That's why in today's world it is difficult to squelch or silence the opposition. Thus, Caveat emptor. In the past, when there was finite number of media outlets (and when it was costly to start a new one), it was up to the media provider to be responsible. The times have changed.

  • To me, in a free society, as long as each person pursues his or her own self-interest, the outcome (in my opinion), should be much greater than if the state were to control our present and future. Once we beginning controlling speech, we have let the government control us. Like I said before, are we going to ban the teaching of Chemistry in high school just because a minority of student will learn how to balance a chemical equation to cause harm on a global scale? Of course not!

  • If we were to ban the teaching of chemistry because of a perceived potential of harm, then our laboratories and hospitals would shut down. We would devolve as a culture. The anthem of the liberals of yesteryear was: "I may not agree with what you say but I'll fight to my death for your right to say it." What happened to that? Why did that belief vanish?

  • It appears to me that you want Savage to speak responsibly. But in order for Savage to speak so-called "responsibly," you'd want him to express his beliefs in a manner that is *agreeable* to you. Please pick up 1984 and read it again (if you haven't already done so). Remember the ThoughtPolice?

  • ""So if a teacher tells her class we all come from Venus then those *children* are responsible for being taught those untruths? Not the teacher."

No, the responsibility rests on the shoulders of the teachers and the students. The teachers should separate the facts and opinions appropriately. And the students should be taught how to become discriminating consumers of information. In science, a mistake can lend itself to a great discovery. Why not let a thoughtmistake bring about a better idea?

  • The following quote is from the "Georgina Public Libraries 90 Wexford Drive, Keswick, Ontario."

"The Internet enables children to learn how to search effectively for information, *to become discriminating consumers of information*, to develop on-line communication skills, and to learn a measure of personal responsibility."

I say let all children and adults traverse freely across the mind-terrains that contain both the so-called "good" and "bad" information.

  • To control what I'm exposed to would cause me great harm. I'm a responsible person. I believe designating speech as harmful or not harmful lends itself to collectivist thinking. We lose our individuality&free choice. I use what I know for the betterment of mankind. I could be mistaken and could actually be harming mankind. But let's assume that I am a benevolent person. Then to censor what I'm exposed to would make it even harder for me to improve myself to bring about further greatness.

  • I disagree. If a liberal were insulting ethnic minorities or blaming & hating vulnerable people I'd be just as indignant & horrified. I don't care if one if a right or left winger. Insulting, hating, offending, condemning, fighting vulnerable people, or those less fortunate than oneself, is just plain WRONG!

  • Totally agree with you. Freedom of speech carries with it a responsibility to engage ones brain before opening ones mouth and hate directed towards anyone is not freedom of speech.....it's hate.

  • Exactly, beltanebabe55! If 'hate' were a virtue jails would be empty! Love & true acceptance attracts peace & harmony in2 one's life. Hate attracts violence & conflict into the hater's *own life*!

Street gangs yell out their hatred; ku klux klan spew out hatred; fred phelps vomits out hatred. So these people are, in effect, condoning this behaviour. They believe that these thugs who go around hurling hateful abuse at others should, therefore, be commended for 'free speech'?

    Not in my book!

  • Not in mine either. When I start to hear the hatred some of these people spew out I just can't take them seriously anymore. I am always more than happy to listen to an intelligent well thought out opinion/ argument, even if I disagree with it.

  • Precisely, the YESWECANOBAMA poster is an example of someone here who is a right-winger, yet also intelligent, thoughtful, & repectful & who listens, even tho' we disagree.
