  • nice animation....

  • wonderfully done - Thank You for sharing the cycle of life of an avocado so well .

  • Comment removed

  • too bad ittakes forvere for them to grow much less to give you free avocadoes

  • This video is dumb

  • Well done, very good idea. I like it very much.

    Peace

  • *sniffles* poor avocado..

  • In Soviet Russia Avocado no die... it KILL YOU!

  • damn, what great editing. nice video. can you do my music videos for me ? we'll be rich !!! i was shocked to see the seed go in the trash, and actually thought you would grab it out at the last second. but that wasnt what you were shooting for. good job.

  • way to not promote composting.

  • holy guacamole!!!

  • @tassostuna dang you, I wanted to say that!LOL!

  • would a reptile heating lamp be used to gorw them?

  • at least put the shell into compost !!

  • @minou182 that might have actually been a good method to show the re-birth or at least useful death of it, as well as showing the seed re-growing, to bring it full circle. At the point I made this, I was living in a highly urban downtown area. We had no compost, I still don't actually, but it's definitely something I've considered doing.

Again I think people are seeing this video as "educational", it's borderline "edutainment", but I purely made it for "entertainment", this isn't a how to.

  • @beekerstudios

Thanks for explaining !! i wasn't thinking about the fact that you might have been living in a urban place where compost isn't a possibility !!

and thanks for the video !! i am putting my avocado seeds to grow right now :)

  • awesome video

  • see my avokado

    youtube search "yaharoni"

  • nice time lapse

  • Love this. Very cool.

  • I think you've been smoking too many Avocados!

  • @thxango40 could be, this was made for art, and not "science" after all... but thanks for watching, it's been 2 years since I made this video, and it's amazing people are still finding it...

  • @beekerstudios 20 years later.....Hey great vid! Hows the Avocado tree doing?

  • Hey, you could have kept the big seed for a new tree - why throw it away??

  • @Joburg1960 to tell you the truth, that was kind of the point, the birth, life and DEATH of the avocado, most people do just throw that part away, it goes to waste, and never becomes what it's meant to, hence it's DEATH.

  • if a clip is not what you expect just means it's not made especially for you. It doesn't mean it's crap! Try searching a little harder?

I thought it looked ... like a brief avocado clip, just what I needed !!!

  • Wow this showed how to start the growing process and how to correctly cut them ... nice

  • lovin the xp movie maker transitions

  • well if you were loving them, you'd be wrong. Not sure where you see those transitions, but this was done with FCP, After Effects, and Flash (for the title part), the only thing I could think would be even close to that is the segmented display, was done for effect to be a symbolic of, gosh this is going to sound esoteric, but the "death" of all avocados for the enjoyment of gauc

  • FYI, AFAIK, and I am no avocado cultivator, there are two ways to grow an avocado, and the first like I show is to germinate a seed. The other requires grafting. Not sure if I'd call it crap, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. BTW the whole point of this was not to be literal, it was an interpretation of the "LIFE", "DEATH", and "BIRTH" of an avocado. Thanks for watching!

  • Russ, I get your point. Sorry I removed your response comment, I didn't mean to, I meant to hit reply. Feel free to repost the comment. I appreciate the input. However, one thing to note, is that I did this for entertainment purposes, and it was only "slightly" for educational. It was more again, more metaphorical, and less literal. But I am glad you watched it intently enough to know that I missed a critical component.

  • i love avocados, thanks for posting

  • I am glad you enjoyed it.

  • thank you for sharing this - i always wanted to know how to do this!!
