Watching this just makes me think of how wonderful and cultured society was back then. I weep as I see how casual and foolish things are today. I cannot wait to see this movie if only for a glimpse into what is in my opinion the greatest and most exciting part of American history. Jean Dujardin is awesome, so expressive. Honestly both he and this movie deserved the awards.
Absolutely charming film and what guts the people involved had to make it and congratulations to all of them for winning 5 Oscars which they richly deserve.
@sachamun *spoiler included* I Think you really missed the whole point of the movie, to me the reason for incluiding the voice at the end is because he finally could find his inner voice, he found himself by dancing cause through the dance he could left his proud behind.
This movie has to get an Oscar , best actor Jean Dujardin ,and best music , Finally they made a real movie . I love it the best so far in decades .Bravo ! Bravo ! Bravo !

Biggest mistake in this stupid video: The Actress is dancing on High Heels. What a fucking joke! There were no High Heels in 1927(1920's). Women Started to Wear High Heels from 1970's, they became really popular in 1990's. I dont think the director has any mind. Any this movie wants Best Picture Oscar.WTF!
@shadowsmessage They actually did. High heels have been around for a very, very long time. They came back into fashion in the late 19th century, so that means they were probably being worn in the early 20th century. Also: google "high heels flappers" or "high heels 1920's". You'll come up with images of women wearing them during the 1920's.
And even if it was a mistake, you think that is the sole reason this shouldn't get an Oscar? Did you even see the freaking movie? It's very good.
@shadowsmessage High heels have been around since Ancient Egypt. They were quite in fashion in the 1920s, actually, only declining in fashion in the 30s.
@shadowsmessage your whole post is a mistake actually, perhaps you might want to do some research in to women's fashion before making a fool of yourself in the future....
@SuperMsSonic you said "she doesn't have a silent film star face" - she wasn't a silent film star, she was a star of the talkie era, hence your mistake. Don't try and change the goalposts. And the actress your referring to is far from bland, she is charming, intelligent and talented.
I still haven't watched the movie, but I believe I'm going to love it and I really think this is the winner of the 2012 Academy Award for Best Picture.
