Olivia Wilde on Disney Channel. There is soooooo much wrong with that sentence. If this movie was made by almost any other company, I'd be okay. But DISNEY?!?!? A channel that makes shows like "Shake It Up" and "Wizards of Waverly Place"???? You can do better than that Olivia, and I've definitely seen it.

@1223437 I didn't find it that dated. Most of the dialogue was still understandable and "outdated" maybe since pcs are so user friendly (lol realised tron double meaning ;d) that most people don't aren't that knowlidgeble of the lingo in the industry. And i think it looks so different that it holds up even today. How would you imagine being inside an atari 2400 than like the tron -82. Great film like the new one!

Sorry, but there was no mention of how epic Avatar was and it's influence it had on the media. There was no supporting that idea. The only idea supported was that of the more advanced cameras used than Avatar, not that Avatar was epic and influenced the media. Yes, Avatar was epic in their quality of work and how it influenced TRON:Legacy and other media, but TRON: Legacy used that and advanced it. That is the only supporting idea.

Sorry, smart ass. I meant, you're wrong, flat out. The 3D technology used in this movie isn't remotely related to that used in Avatar and the visual style and render quality doesn't really compare. Should be an awesome movie though.

@NobleValerian Actually, Tron Legacy used not only Cameron's Camera Crew members but the cameras are more advanced than the ones in Avatar. So Yes they are remotely related to the ones used on Avatar and the quality is much better.

@ViewerServicesGroup In my face... Fair enough: Digital Domain and the Fusion Camera System is at the heart of tron. And the computer program alternate versions of human characters sounds like a familiar theme. So related, yes. But you support the idea that Tron in any way detracts from how epic Avatar is and what it's influence has had on media? If anything, Avatar helped realize Tron in my mind and Tron will hardly overshadow Avatar.

@kham2914 Um...no. Avatar did a better job using the 3D immersion than Tron did. The Grid's dark environments do not go well with the dimming effects of 3D glasses. CLU was VERY impressive in de-aging the Dude, but his eyes are often empty, while the Na'vi technology had flawless expression.

I enjoyed both Avatar and Legacy, but to me Avatar was better at being a fun escapist tale, and Legacy doesn't have the same charm as its predecessor.

You have to be quick to see new footage in this clip. It is there guys. Never seen Sam's head gear appear over his head until this clip. There is also a small bit of extended combat shown. You just have to look closely and have watched the trailers a thousand times like I have to see. :)

@hluizr The orginal tron wasn't about simplicity. The first Tron was very advanced and complex for it's time. This sequal is doing the same thing. So far this movie is adapting the orginal tron's theme and style for modern times perfectly.

TRON LEGACY actually has a cool storyline, looks cool has better acotrs and has better CGI and 3D technology than avatar. and without the original avatar would not exist

@kham2914 The original Tron was refused an oscar nod for visual effects because the academy felt the film CHEATED for using CGI! Also Tron was not a big hit in '82. On a $17 mil budget, the film made around $33 mil at the boxoffice. Now that a BIG BUDGET sequeal is coming, EVERYONE LOVES Tron now! As for Avatar, I remember months before the fil was release, people were saying it's gonna FLOP, It's not gonna do well. And look what happened. TR2N will half to compete with Yogi Bear at the B.O. LOL

@DoomDarenxbourg you have to etmit the CGI wasnt that advance at thoes times......but that is the point of it if you compare TR2N to TR0N technology has changed.... so has CGI and the first one should look like........plain color stuff because that resembles technology at that time.. and TR2N should look like this new dark cold looking stuff because that resembles modern technology. what im trying to say is it makes sence today..... but not yesterday. @kham2914 I enjoyed Avatar, but as a hardcore (but not a uber-purist) Tron fan, I kinda agree. I mean, this movie is in-a-sense more a modern expression of ancient greek mythological elements (such as Spartacus, and The Odyssey) but in a techno-cyber punk setting. There's more to it than that as well, which i find very very awesome.
