@JosephShelton ok u know what that comment was from a whole year ago and i already explained what happened so if you cant figure out the meaning of what i posted RIGHT ABOVE YOUR COMMENT, sorry. and i really dont think my explanation was in any way being an ass. >:(
i am so sorry! that was my little brother! he is like addicted to nascar and he uses curse words he doesnt even understand. sorry if he offended anyone. i need to start logging out so he cant use it.
WOW. I didn't think Jeremy was that kind of guy! He made the chase in its first two years, and won at Richmond and Michigan them years. Wait, wasn't he driving the #41 Toyota earlier this year?
no kidding... I'm just saying that when he called the action his voice added a lot to what was actually happening. He had natural talent for his profession.
Daytona and the Brickyard cost Gordon the 1996 title

typical #3 at daytona/talladega, freight trained out of the lead, back to 13th place, just over 3 laps later he retakes the lead. the best ever.

I remember professing my love for Jeremy Mayfield after this.
And NASCAR coverage doesn't need (or should have for that matter) an on-screen ticker and FoxTrax.
JoeytheHDK 3 years ago
Mayfield had a hard wreck later in that race. I'm glad he was okay.

Jeremy did drugs...he's out of NASCAR indefinitely because he tested positive for amphetamines.

Why is it at 1:48 that half the seats in the upper deck of the stands are vacant?
Temiree 3 years ago
i think they were adding more seats to the upper levels and that section wasnt finished yet.

Yeah, it was called the Winston Tower when it was built. Now it's the Sprint Tower, I believe.

Great clip of that race. The coverage was so cool back then, and Ken Squier doing the commentating was always perfect for the 500.
Showstopper42 4 years ago
Squier wasn't always with the program...

I had always wanted to see some coverage of races from 1996. That was a good year in racing.

All thats missing is an on-screen ticker and FOXTrax. That would make this the best NASCAR coverage seen

Yep.
Cannot top those awesome camera angles from this video though.

I don't think Gordon's hit was as hard as Nemechek's hit.
