"You do get a max 8GB of memory.." but mine (same model) is default 8GB and can expand to 16GB. Now THAT will send you soaring. ;)

how do you setup the TV card to play TV. I use the jacks in the front but can't seem to get it to run on the PC

This PC has built in Wi-Fi (a must in my large home), 750 GB hard drive, 8 GB memory, NVidia 9500GS graphics card (I can play Crysis on max settings) and best of all, it's a HP, with the best tech support of any of the big three. I used to have a Gateway, and you don't want to EVER upgrade your BIOS on a Gateway. I lost that one to a mis-written manual and poor phone support. A BIOS upgrade on any HP works great. I also had a Dell that only lasted a year before it died; Dell=bad. HP is king!
