How are you setting up your gain structures and level controls?
I may have a cleaner way to do it. Use a line object with floating point with a 20 ms interpolation time feeding into an equal power function. You can use the scale object for this with a curvature of 1.07177. I control it with a slider ranging 0-157 Unity is 127. Feed the output into a line~ packed with a 20 ms time element. Finally use *~ to multiply with the signal you want to control. It is a linear fader with no stepping.
