I believe that in this song he is talking to H8, which is a metonymy for "technology and computers". Tech helps him coexist with the "chill", or with the distance of human connections. Tech makes him sick because he loves it too much and sacrifices to much to it. Tech makes him feel "space dementia", as if he was alone in space. Peace/non-interaction between people will "tear us apart" and "make us meaningless". Then he says to tech: "you'll make us wanna die, we'll destroy this world for you"

@zeldagoblin I think he takes bits of Rachmaninov's pieces on purpose. I suppose that wouldn't contradict what you said in any way, though (regarding the plagiarism). But I think of it more of an Ode to some of Rach's songs. Apparently Matt was always very influenced by Rachmaninov's music.

I think a lot of todays music is heavyly inspired by classical if you listen to the soundtrack to titanic during the sinking scene you can hear an almost direct repetition of totentanz by liszt. I still love muse though, they are pioneers in their own right
