  • Regardless of the "C.O.C.A.I.N.E." bit. Everbody may have been junked up. like reactive "ANIMALS". "Quick your time is almost up, they all forget that they're the MOTH edging in towards the flame BURNING to OBSCURITY"... COMFORT OF ALL AMERICA..;] !?!?

  • Yeahhh look at Jose using that traditional grip in the left hand! What a pro.

  • @Jkeeley5089 As a 12 year old, I have read 'em both. Honestly I gotta say that '84 was much more descriptive but Animal Farm was more symbolic. If I were to choose one, I'd say '84 but they're both good. I recommend the two of 'em to anyone who was looking for a political book.

  • people with animal heads are creepy.

  • I love this song =)

  • doing coke is cheating.... so's adderall.

  • This song here is beautiful! One of my favorite songs of all time.

  • So the lyrics are based on "1984" by George Orwell and Philip K. Dick's novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?". But the video is based on George Orwell's "Animal Farm"? How does this make any sense? Drugs or something?

  • @narutowned every piece contains a map of... it all.

  • @narutowned

    Come

    One

    Come

    All

    Into

    Nineteen

    Eighty-four.

Spells cocaine. Not sure if that was their intent, but I just remember having that brought to my attention back when the song came out. So, yes, it may be drugs or something.

  • i remember reading that book in school, i think there was also a movie.

  • I LOVE INCUBUS!!!

  • I take care of myself...and I enjoy some nose candy once in awhile. Toolbag

  • I love this song!

  • yyyeeeaaa. confused! hahha:)

  • how does this song not have more views.... fuckin classic

  • @TDETO sceenie weenies too busy getting screamed at in their ear

  • I like how everyone fights over this song because the first letters of each word spells cocaine. Like it matters. It's either a coincidence or them just having fun with one of their songs for ONCE! They don't do cocaine, they're very well educated people, and are definitely not dumb enough to do cocaine. Plus, they're straight up about weed, he tells everyone. Keeping cocaine a secret, come on. Look at this guy, he takes care of himself way too much in the first place. Veggies-Surfing-Work Outs.

  • @EnjoyTheMorningView Freud did coke..... was he dumb? My Friend graduated in the top 10 at the University of Penn and does coke.. I would say your the one thats dumb for posting that comment

  • I fucking hated that book.

  • (: Love this song.<3

  • i think its based on being on cocain while reading 1984

  • Gotta love the youtube grammar-nazis. :3

  • song eludes to media subliminal suppression of the masses. the vid just makes it more complicated.

  • I Love this song

  • Electric sheep are dreaming up your face?

  • "stupid human trix" :D

  • my fav song :] <3

  • Lame video, great song.

  • Why do people think so much about what the song is about...why can't they just chill and enjoy the music? It's fucking magical!

  • @ewokbreeder -- Because, the artist is trying to make a statement--it would be a shame to ignore the message Incubus is trying to tell it's listeners.

  • @thirdstorytoker But a song is always supposed to be something different to everyone...write your own story with it, they made the music for us, not themselves...we gotta just enjoy and the song mean something more to us...music is about being creative too...I'm just saying...if people focus too hard on trying to figure out the meaning...they're going to forget the point of the song(s) in the first place...to make them happy.

  • Favorite song by Incubus!

  • Comment removed

  • Does anyone have a Delorean or a time machine? I'm itching to go back to '84. Best year ever

  • i think it was a statement of humanity and how we may still be (in many ways) primitive

  • Come

    One

    Come

    All

    Into

    Nineteen

    Eightyfour

yeah i guess its not about cocaine.

  • @dazz396 dude, how the fuck did you catch that? 2 months late so you prolly dont even remember this comment but wow. If it isnt intentional, thats one fucking coincidence!

  • maybe orwell shouldnt have wrote that book. he kinda gave them ideas

  • Haha, FURRIES!

  • This song just seems so humbling, but conveys so much more to it. Or maybe it's just a song is all =P

  • Seeing that youtube fails to allow tv shows, sports and movies, pay a visit to |stream episodes [dot] net| to watch them instead #VIDEOPOSTERID#. That is what I depend on to be able to watch American Idol and Lost.

Incubus - Talk Shows On Mute

  • animalism

  • FUCK YEA INCUBUS WOOOOOOO

    ^.^

  • gay

  • MANIMALS LOL

  • George Orwell thought that televisions would be used to watch people inside of their homes... uhhh... you are all sheep... annnddd... you're attracted to the glow from your television like moths... you think people on television are better than you... lights, camera, sell you shit you don't need, sell you lies... you buy... you believe... but you're better than that...

  • @thekidzcantfathom so says the person viewing shit on a screen ;]

  • @ant1ph0n and what's even spookier is that the screen that I'm using right now has a web cam on it... so Orwell's prediction still might be true, not with televisions, but with computers.

  • @thekidzcantfathom they used to put cameras in tvs in communist times

  • c.o.c.a.i.n.e come one come all 19 80

  • this is the perfect anlogy

  • I thought this song was about alien fruit bats infiltrating corportations and skimming money from the top to fund there cake baking interests through out the universe.

    You guys are fucking lame.

  • @SuperTeamramrod this is probably my favourite Youtube comment. Ever.

  • @SuperTeamramrod I was drinking water when I read this, my nose hurts now.

  • @SuperTeamramrod this comment always brings me such joy.

  • Comment removed

  • @Janebabyy69 Are you seriously that retarded? Incubus happens to be one of my favorite bands, I was talking shit about the other nitwits here posting comments, thinking they know what this song is about. Why would I blast a band on you tube? I would probably do it on their website so they had a chance to actually see it. Get a clue before you open your mouth next time.

  • its not about cocaine at all dude. it's based around the book "1984" by George Orwell and the vid is based around the book "animal farm"

  • actually its about Animal Farm, but the george orwell part is right

  • It's more about 1984, actually. Just because it has animals in it, that doesn't mean it's Animal Farm. Animal farm is an allegorical story about Russian and European affairs... a story about factions, betrayal, etc.... whereas 1984 is more about Big Brother, in-house tyranny, censorship, mass media manipulation, fixation on the television, etc.

Perhaps more importantly, there are the lyrics of the chorus: "Come one, come all... into nineteen-eighty-four".

  • quite possible, maybe its a bit of both books, wikipedia said animal farm, and watchin this it looked like that part in the end of animal farm where u cant tell the people from the animals.

... and idk about the cocaine thing XD

  • @JKeeley5089 you're an animal farm

  • @JKeeley5089 GOT THAT RIGHT! "electric sheep"..."1984"..and all the animals.

    mmmhm.

  • @JKeeley5089 YES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @JKeeley5089 imma gonna read that book animal farm this year in my school

  • @iluvcookies198 imma gonna? by all means stay in school.

  • @TheLoser1983 hey what the hell man it was just a spelling error ok and of coruse im gonna stay in school what are you nuts?

  • @iluvcookies198 i rest my case, lol. but relax, im just messing with you.

  • @TheLoser1983 lol thats good to hear

  • Comment removed

  • @JKeeley5089 I think Animal Farm was a separate book...but I could be wrong.

  • @JKeeley5089 and the novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" by Philip K. Dick

  • @junglefresssh I thought I was the only one who got that obscure reference. Cool!

  • OMG NO WAY ITS COINCIDENCE THAT COME ONE COME ALL INTO NINETEEN EIGHTY FOUR ABREVIATES TO COCAINE.

yea it is a coincidence, 1)Regardless if Incubus does do cocaine, it is completely off their style to make a subliminal reference to it in their song. 2) What other part of the song even comes close to being about cocaine? 3) you're dumb.

  • then it would be cocainef cuz FOUR is its own word

  • the number four is not mentioned in this song..although the number eighty-four is..there's a difference, four isn't its own word in this situation

  • @bryceflorek

Well, it's not about cocaine, but it's not completely off their style to make drug references in their songs. You apparently haven't listened to the first few albums?

  • actually. yes i have. i said SUBLIMINAL. I've listened to all of their albums multiple times. if they were going to make a drug reference, it would NOT be subliminal.

Smokin the Herb Again = not subliminal.

the line in Deep Inside : "Cus I'm so stoned that I can't see straight" = NOT subliminal.

the argument Come One Come All Into Nineteen Eighty Four is an acronym for cocaine IS Subliminal, and completely off their style.

    Therefore my argument is valid.

  • @bryceflorek ive heard that smoking the herb again and.... i dont think its incubus. Could be wrong though.

  • It is, its a hidden track in When Incubus Attacks Volume 1 in the song Pardon me starting at 4:47.

  • and the fact that i had to explain what I wrote just proves that you didn't even read my comment.

    stop jumping to conclusions.

  • COCAINE (FYTTOLCT). I don't know what the rest of the acronym means, or even if it means anything, but I think the first part of refrain was intentional. One interpritation could be that talk shows and tv are like drugs, and we'll watch them anyways, even if there's no sound coming out. 1984 was also a famous book by George Orwell about a world where BIG BROTHER (the governement) is watching your every move. I think it's more of the first thought, especially because of the last line in the song

  • for those who went to or go to upland high that is Mr. J at 1:07!!!! the substitute you may have had at some time or another

  • Quit tryin to overanalyze the song and just enjoy it for what it is. And what does 1984 have to do with cocaine? Get your head out of the mountain of powder and get over your fascination with blow. It's just a song. They don't even know what they're talkin about.

  • 1984 is in reference to the book 1984 by George Orwell, the lyrics are primarily about this book and Boyds interpretation of it

  • i read from Brandon that he got the idea from a plane ride where the guys started narrating a show on the TV where the sound was off.

  • That is true muzikjunkie14.

  • Yeah it's definitely more politically inclined than about drugs.

  • what the hell do these lyrics mean, i love this song but i dont understand the lyrics haha

  • Lots of reference to the works of George Orwell in the video and lyrics.

  • i'll give you the chorus

Come One Come All Into Nineteen Eighty-four

    COCAINE

the rest should make some sense now

  • amazing band

  • He has such an AWESOME voice. It's so deep and rich, I just love it.

  • im pretty sure they're not entirely a drug free band

  • Comment removed

  • they have a song called "smoking the herb again" so they deffinately arent drug free lol

  • yeah u got that right did u see em on mtv cribs they had a room they hallucinate in.

  • ivew been listening to incubus since i was in 7thgrae in 99 there my favorite band there music has such powerful messages about our country and what its becoming

  • And even so, you still write as a 7th grader does.

  • Lmaooo!

  • Haha Seriously! "They're"!!! Among many other errors.

  • gud stuff

  • It's about how people get sucked into the TV, and brainwashed by it. Brandon Boyd doesn't watch tv. And i don't know what the animals are about. I guess TV makes people act crazy like an animal? idk lol

  • thts darn good analyzing JaKex SyN!

  • Come On Come All Into Ninetine Eighty-four

    COCAINE

  • cool thanks i would never guess that

  • Im diggin Mike's 70s fro lol. And would anyone happen to know what kind of bass Ben is using in this vid? It looks sexy!

  • great song.....but trippy

  • a furry's fantasy dipped in surrealism.

  • i like the whole animal farm thing going on here

  • This song is an absolute CLASSIC! Damn good group as well. Thanks for posting.

  • this is such a good song..

  • I love this video!

  • I like how this song is very much a

radical statement on the current state of america, in the form of a song, based off a book, that alludes another book. They must have really thought about this song before making it.

  • Or you may just be over thinking it since this came out before "the current state of America."

  • I dont know where you've been the last 10 years but it's been bad since 9/11. Whether the govt was involved in that or not is irrelevant. You can debate that back and forth all day. But what isn't debateable, is that the govt USED 9/11 as an excuse for many things. The one this song focuses on, is dare i say a police state. The chemical and TV comfort of America has been around for decades. The "current state" of things has been getting worse and soon we'll all have to choose security or liberty

  • When you begin to get scared of stating the un-status quo opinion, such as "America is quickly becoming a police state", that's when you know it truly is becoming something else. Can you see where it's going like I can? Can you imagine how bad things will be here in not even 12 months? I know so many would say I'm overreacting, unrealistic, "that would never happen here". It IS HAPPENING. And by denying it people are helping it move faster. I hate to say it, but we deserve it if we let it happen

  • Stupid human trix, isn't that just another name for Americas got talent.

  • reminds me of the buddy holly music video

  • Crap, I was born 2 years too late. :-\

  • i like how ever since i started listening to incubus, every other band i've ever liked, aside from very VERY few, sound horrible and really fucking stupid.

    makes since though, they're freakin' amazing ;o;

  • ever read 1984?

  • great great great book

  • The ending was the best. When he explains everything to him like newspeak and the like... Completely poignant today. We are our own guards you know. I think i'm very open-minded but I dont know if 9/11 was an inside job. What I do know is that if you propose that theory, with its evidence to most people, they will reject it outright, WITHOUT having looked at the evidence at least once. The brain literally has walls protecting it from change. It will be worse than 1984 because of that very reason

  • hey man, i cant say your wrong in your ideas, i would most likely agree with most of them, so in a twisted outreach sort of sense, keep trying! DONT give up on your foundation, and god damnit keep that mind as your own, in all regards, dont buy the masses of either side, even though one may be better than the other, it'd still be trading one for another, if you know what im saying

  • thanks for the encouragement but i feel like your preaching to someone who's been there done that.

The strongest people in all areas of their being aren't so because they listened to others and took their words and opinions as their own.

When you figure out how YOU feel, what YOU think about what's going on, what do YOU want to do,which way do YOU think is best for everyone, then you find who you truly are. Because everything that is you, is yours. It came from nowhereelse but your heart

  • i know exactly what your saying, and like i said before i dont disagree with your ideas. I guess my thing is that you can try to plant seeds all your life but when its said and done, do you feel that you can change the way things are going to end up? its kind of a personal battle im constantly weighing on my mind. i would like to think that real changes can be made, in the proper places, with amiable intentions, but i dont believe that anyone who has power will ever make then or allow them to be

  • Very good question... Here's my 2 cents. In the context of making changes on youtube, yes, in small ways you can with a single comment. Especially if a lot of people read it since sharing ideas is an exchange of realities, which could do a lot for someone who has few people to talk to or sources of info.

Your right, real changes CAN, but people dont make them. Why? Well most people can be bought or sold off. The best people like MLK & JFK need to be killed off. Personally, I think we're...

  • going thru a period of time where there's so much chaos bc the old corrupt way of doing things is dying, and old habits die hard. And this ties into the other point you made about "allow them to be". It's dying hard bc the people in power are in cahoots. There are many books written and whistleblowers to be heard on the subject. The world is controlled by a financial elite that cant really be fought IMO. Changes CAN be made, but it would take the entire US pop. to wake up and kick them all out

  • So good luck achieving it haha. But thats why this is the end of this age. The planet cant go on like this, and with the (unfortunately), huge amount of ignorant morons running around, there will be a purge. Whether its God or Mother Earth or both, doesnt matter. Many people will be wiped out and those that are left were either smart enough to see the signs and prepare, OR they were lucky. Both will be humbled and learn that the way things used to be are what almost killed us all. Thats the cost

  • I love this video! I love the song too....

  • i like incubus becuse theres no othere band like them there songs are really good an i can understand um an relate to the meaning

  • i completely forgot about this song and im so happy that i stumbled across it. incubus is amazing. brandon boyd is one of my favorite vocalists.

  • 1984.. great year for a kid growing up without any worries but those of a kid!

  • brings back memories of the good old days...

  • this was my favorite song when i was 13.

i still very much love this song :)

  • i think this video and the song represents what America's becoming.

we're going into a 1984-type world because of Americas comforts. we've become lazy, decadent, sinful, careless, ignorant, and apathetic. the empire is collapsing and everyone's literally just watching TV... living their lies without question.

Hoping for a better tomorrow that they wont have to build themselves, but be given to them for nothing.

Id say that's America today in a nutshell. This song says it better than me

  • One of the few intelligent posts I have seen on youtube.

  • Thank you brother :) Takes one to know one though

  • well put out, we have become animals tending to this songs. Such as talkshows on mute they are propaganda

  • What the heck kind of animal is the TV show host? Some kind of dog or wolf?

  • Possibly a Dwolf. Indigenous to the rural areas surrounding Columbus, Ohio...I read that somewhere...

  • Lol, sounds dangerous... I'm def staying away from rural Columbus, OH.

  • i gotta get me a jazzmaster.

  • I love how he awkwardly approaches the mic and starts the song at :39 ...haha

  • Incubus and 311 wil be on HDNET on August 23!!! DONT MISS IT!!!

  • Thanks...can you send me a message on that day to remind me? LMAO...what exactly is HD NET anyways??? I love Incubus and 311 sweet.

  • HDNET is a channel....most cable providers have it!!!!! ill probably forget to send u a message so you're just gonna have to remember...lol..

  • imagine. this is probably the point of view animals sees us through. I guess the only way for us humans to see this is by viewing it in a scenario humans are familiar with, a tv studio. i guess i'm just pointing out the obvious. i don't know.

  • i know i love this song so much id marry it if it was possible

  • I forgot how much I love this song.

  • i love how kil is the pizza man at 1:55

    i lol'd

and i love how ben is playing the bass with one hand.

    lmao
