Crostis looks ok, there are some parts of the Gavia to Bormio, similar to this with netting in place. I've been down decents worse than this! It's just the over hanging cliffs that make it daunting, the road surface looks ok.
Nice bike path. Good thing nobody's trying to get 80+ team, neutral support, press, medical and TV cars and motos down it. Not to mention 100+ riders. Oh wait.......
I've got to agree with the team managers on this one, this is a really insane road for a full peloton to potentially be descending at once. Even with the padding and netting a single crash would have huge repercussions for the rest of the peloton, as there's no room to dodge if someone goes down in front of you.

La questione è che se Contador e il suo Direttore sportivo dopato hanno più potere dell'organizzazione del Giro, non possiamo farci niente. Resta solo che sono 2 conigli, ed i tifosi che fino ad ieri lo applaudivano oggi l'hanno fischiato ed hanno benissimo. Bisogna aver corso in bicicletta per sapere cosa vuol dire pericolo. Io ho sempre avuto più paura in una volata che in una discesa....
stupid,stupid stupid....when are the Giro Organisers going to stop trying to show off, and just give us a normal route, that suits more than 1 rider and is safe. Its become BORING!

Even with BTT's and without rain it seems too dangerous. I wanted to see this mountain pass, but it's really dangerous for the cyclists. First the safety and then the show...that's what I think...
@blastatore annullata proprio 3 orette fa, domani niente Crostis dopo le proteste e le pressioni dei team! Certo che deletarla 24 ore prima è qualcosa di ridicolo a livello organizzativo!
@umbelievable1 cosa?!?! Noooo!!! Ma non è possibile... e che fanno ora? Ma proprio da scemi comunque. Era stata sistemata e ora l'annullanno. I ciclisti fanno tanto i salutisti, che loro tengono alla loro vita, quando poi sono i primi che si dopano e la mettono a rischio. Questa discesa era assolutamente da fare, così come andava fatto il tratto in sterrato (ed è stato fatto fortunatamente) senza subire lamementele. Sicuramente sarà stato Di Luca a fare pressioni maggiori...ehehe... PECCCATO!
Poco piu' che una carrareccia ....e pensare che alcuni ciclisti del Giro scenderanno a tutta ....impressionante bel video rende abbastanza idea del rischio
