The things on his gloves are called "pucks". They are made from "high-density plastic". You can get some by cutting up a plastic cutting board with a hacksaw or rotary tool.

And no, you don't really get flat spots because you're using 98a+ duro wheels. I personally use 65mm 101a wheels. My wheels last a few months and I rarely get flat spots.

Seriously, everyone go make some slide gloves and try downhill for a change. It's a blast.

dude how do you powerslide like that? for so long, i live in SF but the most ive ever powerslide is like 10 feet, going like 20mph, at the end of the steep part of 25th ( or whatever is between 25th st and 24th) by grand view. and that put me at a complete stop.

im sorta a beginner and whenever i try a backside slide a get like a half second of drift and my board spins a 180 and i find myself ridin' switch, I cant hold the slide for more than a second. WTF is up with that? am i going to slow? am i doing wrong? (this question is directed to anyone who knows what they're doing when it comes to slidage)

its called sliding,it started before the ollie but that then took over...but nothing like this,kinda linked to longboarding and it got popular again when speedboarding began it was a fast way to stop while speed boarding and its soo much fun.
