  • 'Uhm, we might know the answer if it was..."

    *5 seconds later*

    "I don't know!"

  • An introduction by Patrick Stewart because... Patrick Stewart.

  • that impression of paxman was spot on!

  • What? How can this be? Surely the power of Sir Patrick Stewart and the cast of Red Dwarf all appearing in one video would destroy the internet, yet it still functions, that's just epic.

  • Chloe Annet's Cochanski sucked dingo kidneys. It should never have been written.

  • No Mr.Flibble, we can't do that, who would clean up the mess....

  • That background looks very Star Wars. Is it actually from Star Wars? (some fighter cockpit, perhaps)

  • bloody students

  • Comment removed

  • "Well you can all have mine....everybody else did."

  • After the first question, I feel the cast will win....

  • I'm sure there must be some people who'd be al too glad to blow up Paxman...

  • overall Leeds university sucks and is a horrible experience as a student..

Save yourself , stay away from Leeds university

  • I'm sure it's a coincidence, but I always loved that BBC2's Red Dwarf Night was presented by Patrick Stewart, and BBC2's Star Trek Night was presented by Craig Charles...

  • Chris Barrie does a good Paxman :-)

  • lmao XD

  • mr flibble!!!!

  • For such a low-budget, silly sitcom Red Dwarf has some high class fans - Sir Patrick Stewart and Stephen Hawking.

  • @cookieflower I was surprised at the bit in this where it says Rupert Murdoch is a fan. It's hard to imagine him laughing at any sitcom!

  • The whole evening was great when this was on! 10 years birthdayparty night Great stuff !

  • Craig sounds like jeremy clarkson when hes introducing himself :)

    RIMMER HAS MR FLIBBLE!!!!

  • @20buck06

no he dont(as in craig dont sound like clarkson)

  • @20buck06 YES!

  • @20buck06 No, Mr Flibble has Rimmer!

  • 2:12 - It's Pauline Quirke!!!

  • haha, this is funny, but the cast would get absolutely zero if it weren't for Craig Charles, his memory is really pretty bloody good

  • im only 14 and i once watched this wi my mum the 1st episode i watched was marooned and now i cant get enough of it all my mates think im strange cos im into loads of stuff from the 80's (even though i wasnt born lol) and they're all into the latest music and rubbish like that! (gotta admit sometimes so am i but i prefer red dwarf and stuff like that!!

  • @Keeley1995nEm2002 Dude, same! I find things like Red Dwarf & The Young Ones much more entertaining than modern TV, and I'm 15 =)

  • Dave says hes from the countys. i thought he was from Liverpool.

  • was ? he is from Liverpool just like me

  • @GTAIVFan17 Obviously he's a Scouser, but he think he has a house in Hampshire (does that count as Home Counties?), I saw an article once in the Hampshire Daily Echo that mentioned he had a house here (can't remember article was about, but it was to do with his house) and described him as "Hampshire star Craig Charles", which I thought was quite funny.

  • Chris and Craig's introductions were so funny. MR FLIBBLE!!!

  • that girl one the fan team had a good stad she don't know her name

  • what's with the random captain picard. i mean, not that i'm against it, i'd love picard to announce every show, just seems a bit random.

  • HAHAHHA i'd love picard to announce every show too XD

  • When this show came out, it was part of a BBC2 night dedicated to all things Dwarf. I believe they brought Patrick Stewart in to present each show before they were shown.

  • if that's true, it still begs the question, why captain picard?

  • That's a good question. I guess it's because TNG came out only a year before RD started. Stewart even reminisces about a time that he almost called up his lawyers about RD, thinking that it was a cheap rip-off of TNG. Thankfully he realised it was a sitcom spoof and replaced the phone before calling anyone lol. Also, Stewart was probably the biggest Sci-fi name around during '98. First Contact was quickly becoming the most successful ST movie, and he's British!

  • ah...first contact was awesome

btw, you're getting confused (quite understandably mind you): captain picard is the actor's name, patrick stewart is just a stage name. just fyi

  • Eh? I hope you mean:

    Patrick Hewes Stewart (Actor's Name)

    Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Character's Name on ST:TNG)

    lol

  • nope you've got it the wrong way around.

    don't worry, it's a common mistake =)

  • Patrick Stewart is an avid Red Dwarf fan.

  • Aah! Red Dwarf! Best Show Ever!

They should have called it "Universally Challenged"

  • lol in my house we call it that anyway XD

if you look at some of the people in university challenge the term universally challenges isnt far off!

  • never heard of him

  • lmao mr flibble!!

  • Eluhn Chloe is fit full stop! I can't understand why this will never be released on DVD it would have been an excellent extra! Apparently it's a rights issue!

  • I was young at the time so this all unfortunbately blew over me, it's only coming to light through my new rekindled love of red dwarf how big it was in the 90s.

  • Does anyone have the red dwarf a-z sapecial?

  • i love rimmer, he is amazing!!!

  • Chloe looks fit here, eh?

  • The answer is 3.4 inches...

    What is the question??

  • is it just me but does the guy in the denim at the beginig clapping, really wish he didnt accept the invite to go out on a date with his wife

  • they should have announced Mr. Flibble. now hes very cross...

  • lol rimmers still a smeged

  • Trivia Fact:- Bamber Gascoigne was the quizmaster in the infamous series 2 episode of The Young Ones, another show which was produced by Ed Bye, who of course produced the later Red Dwarfs. Paul Jackson also worked on both shows.

  • uh actually Griff Rhys Jones played Bamber Gascoigne.

  • Good old Bambi

  • What year was this? 1998?

  • Yep. It's the tenth anniversery thing, and Red Dwarf started in 1988, so i'd guess so.

  • nicee 5/5

  • Lord above. Chris is such a ham. I wanna marry him. :)

  • Why isn't this / is this on the DVD?

  • Something to do with rights issues. Same goes for a release of the full US pilots.

  • i cant stand the US version of red dwarf its terrible - nothing can beat british red dwarf with british cast

  • lol i 4t the rip in the young ones of this show was funny this how ever is so much better

  • I want one of those jackets...fans are wearing!

  • ehem Gasgoine Now something something something something classic also Patrick Stewart

  • Bambar Johnstone rules I miss him this is the coolest thing ever

  • i would of been 6 when RD night was on lol

its only been this last year ive become addicted to red dwarf, lol, ive watched all of them now XD

  • lol. 00:33.

    i so want a bazookoid!

  • i'm making one right now.

  • does this appear on any of the series DVD's??

  • damns indeed!i dont think we'll ever realise why rob left.

  • its actually miss flibble!and why did rob grant leave?(and im too young to get married!)

  • Hello, another Miss Flibble here! I'm abit too young to get married too. I don't think even Doug Naylor really understood why Rob Grant left. And if you've got digital tv, one channel is doing a Red Dwarf weekend where they are showing the episodes again. But that seems the best we're going to get. Damns

  • Who was that turkey?

  • OMG I remember watching the Red Dwarf night on bbc2. Back then I would have been 9 :O

Thank god for my brother being a fan of the show from the start, I've practically grown up with red dwarf!

  • Yeh same! I've met four of them WOO! (: x

  • it's surprising that there are more girls than boys on the fans team... i don't think i know any girls who watch it!

  • There are quite a few! *raises hand*

  • wait a minute..is that chris barrie playin the guy who gets shot??i've just realised that!

  • Yep, Chris is actually a master impressionist though it hasn't come up too often in this series.

  • yay!!next year itll be their 20th anniversary!the BBC better do a show for it or ELSE!!!

  • Mr Flibble (er, I assume you're not married). I think a 20th anniversary would be a huge mistake. In 1998 we had mostly good series to look back on. Ten years on, and we had a barrel scraping 8th series and Doug Naylor's fruitless attempts to get a film made, and generally my thought is why did Rob Grant leave?

  • when was this? im a fan but never ever heard or seen this?

  • February 1998, as part of Red Dwarf's 10th anniversary.

  • thanks

  • look at cbak12sg's comment

  • Wow, John-Jules sounds so different in real life!

  • *giggle* Chris sounds sooo different, too. :P

Just kiddin. I agree, I was really surprised at that accent coming from "Cat"

  • I on the other hand LOVE Red Dwarf and think that it is Hilarious. And to anymore of you that want to comment about the video that is negative Well You can just Smeg Off.

  • Now I really hope I'm mistaken dougiedoozer but did you just make fun of Red Dwarf cause if you did you had really better watch yourself cause there are a lot of people in the world that love Red Dwarf and the cast so if you don't like it than DON'T F***ING WATCH SOMETHING ABOUT RED DWARF AND COMMENT ON IT TO MAKE FUN IF IT. YOU F***ING SMEG HEAD. WHY DON'T YOU GO AND F***ing F*** YOURSELF.

  • Um. You waste your time, man. He moved onto Corrie and then started smoking crack. I saw him on Lyme Regis beach when I was a kid. Perfectly charming man.

Anyway. What have you against Red Dwarf?

One of the coolest shows and it's fame has lasted over 10 years since it finished. Your argument?

  • Oh dear. You've made Mr. Flibble very angry.

  • Does anyone know where to find anymore Craig Charles poetry, i know that he was a punk poet before RD

  • Is it just me or at 03:52 does Bamba say "fuck five points"?

  • 2nd time I listend to it, and I see what ya mean...

  • yes, well spotted !

  • If youve never heard of this mr spivvy you are either lying, blind or mad lol - this was part of Red Dwarf Night a few yrs back, the "Cant Smeg,Wont Smeg" was part of it too

  • where did this come from? never seen or heard of it before

  • lincolnshire is where the empire started, " captain smith etc".

  • gota love the big red 1

  • Why the fuck is the buff taking so long, vid isnt even big

  • pity I never saw the original airing...

  • hard one for ya: what is "anti maggie's" birthday

  • July 5th. in Rimmer's diary (me2 series 1).
