Its also worth recalling the politically correct moronic music press, led by the astonishingly arrogant NME, tried to dismiss this band as racist and fascist due to the band name's links with the Nazi party (Hitler obsessed about the Spear of Destiny and tried to find it). I think the presence of Lascelles proves how bitter and twisted the music scribes of the 80s were.
a magnificent song, full of intensity and tenson - one of my fave SOD numbers. The sax player btw is the extraordinarily talented performer Lascelles James I believe.
I saw this lot mabey 60+ times ,this line up in a small venue above Glasgow Apolo ,82 /83? the Orson Family were the support , utterly blinding night then head down for the night in some NCP in Glasgow, there was 4 of us we must have slept in every bloody car park from Aberdeen to Brighton for gigs back then the follies of being 17 and not given a shit .
Cool bastards or what, i just watched the wheel clip from spanish tv and the 2 sax players can't compete with the guy playing sax in this clip, his brilliant.
I never knew about this lot at the time but I remember this performance. because I videoed it on my clunky VHS video by accident. Replayed it and then REWIND waas the only word i knew! Went onto see them over 50 times. Still play them now inlcuding the latest stuff. Oh for SWITCH. And a few weeks later they showed an "additional" track: "Remeberance" they called it. Turned into "Young Men", my fabe song of all time. Cheers for reading my ramblings. But u2 r obv a fan.
at long last pssyche has posted "Rememberance" and i can stop plaguing you all. put the following into the search bit on YT and you have the original live tv version of Young Men,nay, "Rememberance", its the last track on the clip:
