She's committed, she means well, she's trying to be professional and follow the guidance of the creator to do what she needs to do, her job... But she openly admits to having never played Metroid, knew nothing of her character outside of what they presented her in Other M and what the creators wanted her to be like.
@jeffreyt3133 I believe it's rather clear to anyone who played it that Other M's greatest faults lies in nearly everything that isn't gameplay.
That is, the lenghty cinematics, the overblown inner monologue, the text itself, the speeches, the voice actress, the portrayal of Samus, the interaction between characters, the story itself and the investigation portions of the game.
When you're going running, guns blazing it's alright, though the exploration portion feels cut down too.

Of course she freaks out. He came back from the dead with a new organic body. Then she remembers she already killed him once. She can do it again.

I think it's because in Metroid 1 she knew she was chasing after the Space Pirates, i.e. Ridley, and she was doing it on her fighting home turf, whereas in Other M she was unprepared for Ridley appearing out of the blue, when she thought he was dead, and also the fiery environment around them probably went a long way in triggering a flashback to the fiery scene of her parents' colony, when Ridley had just killed her mom. He also was more in her face.
Samus suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder which is triggered whenever she sees Ridley. The earliest games happened before this plot point was introduced, but the Prime series has Samus hesitating when faced with Ridley for just a small moment.
Other M went too far in the display of it, but it is not a mistake that she is scared when she faces Ridley. It was simply overblown.
@bladiumdragon yea i know alot of people think this, but keep in mind, ridley murdered her parents when she was but 6 years old, that scarred her and no matter how badass she is she has that gap in the armor so to speak
@Thecheezgod1 Actually , it was at 3 years old if I remember correctly. Many things happened that "Old bird" and Grey voice tried to help her cope with but, as you say , deep wounds are hard to heal without forming a scar.

@gameboycolor47 The baby metroid thing was explained a long time ago in a better way. She felt some form of compassion right before killing. It was the last of it's kind , just like Samus was the last of the K-2L colony. She felt more like a mother to it to be honest.

@ArrowOfWolves The baby metroid appeared in metroid 2. It's death was in Super Metroid. Since the team seems to have rejected the prime series timeline(this comes from other people , I'm nor sure about it), she still fought him twice. Since Ridley still killed her parents, it's normal if she is still a bit scared , but killing Ridley twice should have given her ample time to adapt.

The more I think about Metroid the more I can see the "Metroid Species" fighting against the "Reapers" from Mass Effect.....how weird...All Sci-fi games can fuse into the Mass Effect story line in some way, shape or form.

@PaperMario30 1.) The last good Mario game was Super Mario 64. Beyond that the Mario games went down hill. Sunshine was fun, and Galaxy was alright but Mario 64 held the torch and still does. Unless you are below the age of 18 that is.
2.) The Wii and DS are terrible worthless consoles. They have less games and sold far less than the Xbox and PS3.
3.) Styles are re-hashed but stories shouldn't be. Last good Zelda was TP. WW sucked balls and Skyfailsword is retarded.

@PaperMario30 I liked TP because I felt like it evolved with me (as a gamer). After beating OoT and MM I felt like they could go to bigger and better things. I was still a kid when I played Wind Waker and I just didn't like it. The art style was goofy and it made the game feel really childish, but the story and the characters just fucking killed it for me, not to mention the forced side quests where you HAD to grind for ruppies and HAD to grind around to find the Triforce; it was annoying...
@LeVaughnX I loved WW, but the triforce quest was seriously annoying. Why on earth did they have to make each map cost 400 rupees to decipher -.-
I liked TP a lot too. The dungeons were cool, esp Arbiter's Grounds. The atmosphere was awesome, and the spinner was fun to use, esp against Stallord ^^ That, and Midna was a very developed character
@PaperMario30 Yeah I didn't feel that WW had good characters or good dungeons / quests. I thought the locations were very pretty but it just felt broken, rushed, and annoying in a lot of places. My only problem with TP was the easy as hell Bosses (most were easy). The game itself though was an awesome and mature version of what I grew up loving.

There are games out there for the Wii that is original like Dead space, Bleach Wii, Red Steel 1 and 2 you insulting Nintendo like that is completely meaningless allot of people do enjoy that system. @ArrowOfWolves The baby metroid appeared in metroid 2. It's death was in Super Metroid. Since the team seems to have rejected the prime series timeline(this comes from other people , I'm nor sure about it), she still fought him twice. Since Ridley still killed her parents, it's normal if she is still a bit scared , but killing Ridley twice should have given her ample time to adapt.

The GameCube was amazing and had some unique games but not much was any good on it; then the Wii and Dual Screen brought Nintendo down and limited the audience. As for Nintendo rehashing? Yea right. They still make high quality games (Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 have higher ratings than any xbox game). Besides, FPS are the most rehashed games in video game history. All of them are the same thing.

@PaperMario30 1.) The last good Mario game was Super Mario 64. Beyond that the Mario games went down hill. Sunshine was fun, and Galaxy was alright but Mario 64 held the torch and still does. Unless you are below the age of 18 that is.
2.) The Wii and DS are terrible worthless consoles. They have less games and sold far less than the Xbox and PS3.
3.) Styles are re-hashed but stories shouldn't be. Last good Zelda was TP. WW sucked balls and Skyfailsword is retarded.

Gameplay does. Besides, just about every game these days is realistic. It's nice to have more colorful art styles once in a while.
If you actually played WW and dislike it, then ok. Not everyone's going to like it. However, how can you say you dislike SS when it hasn't even come out yet?

@PaperMario30 I liked TP because I felt like it evolved with me (as a gamer). After beating OoT and MM I felt like they could go to bigger and better things. I was still a kid when I played Wind Waker and I just didn't like it. The art style was goofy and it made the game feel really childish, but the story and the characters just fucking killed it for me, not to mention the forced side quests where you HAD to grind for ruppies and HAD to grind around to find the Triforce; it was annoying...

I liked TP a lot too. The dungeons were cool, esp Arbiter's Grounds. The atmosphere was awesome, and the spinner was fun to use, esp against Stallord ^^ That, and Midna was a very developed character

@PaperMario30 Yeah I didn't feel that WW had good characters or good dungeons / quests. I thought the locations were very pretty but it just felt broken, rushed, and annoying in a lot of places. My only problem with TP was the easy as hell Bosses (most were easy). The game itself though was an awesome and mature version of what I grew up loving.
